So I met a friend here recently as he has been posting random photos of drinks and food… and I must say that he didn’t disappoint. Sake has a certain romantic yet sophisticated feel to it with the bridge that and flowing water that greets you upon entry. He is so special that his meal isn’t on the menu and after tasting it I have to wonder why. It was a delicate blend of shredded potatoes that give the appearance of onions atop rice accompanied by a beautiful bowl of sautéed shrimp and chicken! Sheer perfection though I enjoy potatoes, I’m not as easily swayed by them like my other foodie friends, but these again — perfection. I suggested to the owner to place them on the menu for special occasions like Valentine’s Day, Mother’s & Father’s Day —just to keep the demand high and it remains ‘exclusive’. The bartender is a dream… her drinks were interesting and packed a punch… remember, I love drinks that don’t skimp on alcohol. if I get a drink, I want to taste it… or let it be so smooth that it sneaks up on me… either way, I’m happy. I cannot wait to go and try their Hibachi menu… oh I didn’t mention that I ate at the bar? Sorry! So the bar is this HUGE oval shape with marble top and has just about every bottle you can think of… even my beloved Tuaca!!! In addition to the sheer space of the place, there are several small rooms that can be booked for special events and private parties… which I love. As a TV/Radio host, I can definitely see a SassyScribe event happening there. Anyhoo…don’t skip or miss this place… great date nite, family night or girls/guys night.

Best Hibachi in Anne Arundel County. Atmosphere is very well designed, no expense spared(was pleasantly surprised). Staff is outstanding, top-notch! Bar is beautifully decorated with an owl top that is lite up and has a wonderful glow. Bartenders(Tiffany and Matt) are very informative and pleasant. I would recommend this place to everyone!!!

This place is beautiful. You walk in on a bridge over a pond with koy fish in it. I had a groupon($ 17 for $ 30 worth) so I made a reservation and we chose to sit at a table instead of hibachi. We ordered — Fried calamari: very good, crispy, breading was yummy. — pineapple fried rice: SOGOOD, it came in a pineapple too. I’ve only seen that on tv, but I was so excited to see it served in a pineapple in person. — kiss of fire roll(spicy tuna topped with yellowtail? And jalapeño): delicious, spicy, came with a nice dipping sauce. — dragon roll(eel, cucumber, wrapped in avocado): I love eel, two thumbs up. The staff was very friendly. Atmosphere was nice. I would definitely come back even without a groupon. They also have a half off sushi menu on Mondays!

I heard nothing but good things about this place. However, tonight, well tonight was not a great experience. None of the servers spoke enough English to understand the needs of some of the other folks around the table/grill, and couldn’t seem to get anything right. From mixing up orders, drinks, checks, charges on checks, appetizers coming out with the food and so forth. It was not what I had expected. It wasn’t until about an hour in and the hibachi chef showed up that one of the other customers leaned over and explained why they thought it was so busy. Tonight seemed like the night everyone wanted to use their Groupon. $ 30 worth towards your bill for $ 17. Great deal, but not why the 2 – 3 families of us that got there early had in mind. It quickly became clear that the staff was extremely in prepared. Portions were smaller than normal, soda syrups were running out, not enough silverware and so on. My Saké was absolutely God-awful, and even though I asked for a menu for their Saké(since their menu said they offered one) they said they didn’t and only had small or large, hot or cold. The Saké alone tasted watered-down. Literally. The meats seemed fresh enough, however the hibachi chef seemed to love his salt. 2 hours ago I finished eating and I still taste the salt as if I were stuck in a rip-tide accidentally drinking water every few minutes. The hibachi chef seemed distracted and stressed, and even though we tried to interact with him, he seemed to play the stereotype a little too far and it was almost insulting. He was also not very clean about putting the food on our table. There was enough food, sauce and salt to make a small bowl worth of bits. I’ve had better, and I believe I’ve had worse. But for the atmosphere, I wouldn’t mind trying it again on a non Groupon-user night. But for now, I most likely won’t return here again. For the $ 130 we spent between my fiancé and her mother, we could’ve had PF Chang’s and been pleased.

The décor is nice… and well that’s about it. The food at the hibachi grill was okay, but my God was the service slow. It took forever for the waitress to get everyone’s orders. Then there was a longer wait for a chef to come to the grill and make the food. Food itself wasn’t bad, but I wouldn’t say it’s anything spectacular either. Finally when all is said and done, there was also a long wait to receive the bill. I spent two hours dinner there; a large portion of it was from waiting on the waitresses. Completely unacceptable.

Went there last night(Wed) The hibachi part was pretty full but the regular dining area was a ghost town mainly. That being said the food was really tasty and it had descent service. Bartender was a little inconsistent on the sangria one was good then the next was very strong. The weekday bar crowd would certainly appear to be regulars. The design of the place is very nice with an indoor coy pond bridge and some trendy bar lighting etc. Good place to go if you are on a casual date but wanna impress a little to with your food tastes. After 9 they went to playing pretty heavy rap which was weird but I think it was because they forgot people were still in the dining area. Good spot though and worth a shot.

I’m complete sucker for hibachi. I love admiring the skills of the chefs, with their egg juggling and onion volcanoes. I love eating an excessive amount of fried rice. I love yum yum sauce. I love sushi. I love it all. If you don’t love at least one of those things, this is probably not the place for you. With that being said, this is my favorite place in the area for a hibachi meal. I’ve been here twice and used a Groupon each time. The food was expertly prepared both times, and the level of seasoning was just right.(I had the same chef each time, named Ecko… I recommend him!) Lately I’ve been finding that the food at another hibachi restaurant in the area I used to frequent has been rather bland… this is just what the doctor ordered. My boyfriend and I got a Scorpion bowl to go with our meal, which is a two person cocktail that comes out on fire. Delicious! Service is great — very attentive.

I don’t get why this place isn’t 5 stars!!! I live in San Diego which is known for having excellent sushi and this was better than most there! And it’s half off sushi on Monday! Even without, prices are decent(or maybe I’m just coming from San Diego and this is normal prices). The show was excellent for hibachi, lots of free sake shots! Portions were huge, not only is it decent price but you easily get 2 or 3 meals out of a «serving». We were seated quickly without a reservation on a Monday Night, almost no wait from seat to show. The house dressing was the best Asian sesame I’ve ever had.

OMG, the food here is awesome and the service is even better. Anna(co-owner, I think) and Matt were extremely personable and had plenty of jokes to keep me in stiches. You will absolutely love this place and the people who work here. Great food great attitudes!!!

First off the place is newly refurbished, including a beautiful indoor fish pond you will walk over at the entrance. Very nice atmosphere inside. We had the hibachi table where you sit near the entertaining chef. It was a big hit with our kid and he will be asking to go back everyday, we had to push him out the door. It was a great way to get him away from chicken nuggets. He tried new food, and belly laughed lots of times at the antics of the chef. The waitress needed a personality improvement costing a star, but the chef was very nice and all smiles. The children’s meal was actually the same size as the adults so that was a great deal. Reasonable price considering free entertainment & some free Sake(if you let them squirt it in your mouth). We all went home with enough left over for lunch the next day!

Don’t go Hibachi; although might be fun for the first time. If you have seen one before, the Hibachi food is not that great. The restaurant has an attractive interior design. Try something other than Hibachi if you have experience it before.

It was my first time visiting this place, and upon my arrival I was amazed by the entrance of walking on this bridge the middle of a Koi pond and a beautiful tree. The place is very tranquil and beautiful inside. We were seated at the dining area, or you could either be at the hibachi area. We were feeling hungry from a long day at work and so my friend of mines suggested the place. We ordered sushi since it was half off on Mondays and so we took advantage of it and both ordered from the hibachi entrees. The sushi rolls here are delicious. You have to try their rolls. I ordered the Amazing Roll, Fancy Salmon Roll, and Lobster Cha Cha, which the three I recommend. All were packed with flavor. As far as their la carte sushi was not the best, I had tried other sushi places which were much fresher than what I had ordered. I had the chicken hibachi also, which the chicken was a bit over done for my liking. I would define let try something different when I come back.

4 Stars not really… Ok. decent hibachi food. Typical Japanese Steakhouse food, nothing extraordinary. And its a beautiful restaurant its come a log way from the old stinky, sticky buffet place that used to hold this space. But what makes this 3 stars not 4 or 5. Is the service!!! Seriously. I have been here at least 4 times. The bar is supppppppeer slow. and the servers are not exactly happy to be there. Ive seen eye rolls and lots attitudes. Im sorry if I am not happy with something, I m going to send it back. For example. We had reservation for 16, 3 of us ordered ice teas for drinks. All 3 of thought the tea tasted odd, so we spoke up asked for something else instead. and the reaction from the server was clear irritation. I mean. Another example, I am allergic to shellfish. I have to announce this when I place my order so my food is not contaminated with shrimp or scallops. Every time I mention this… its clearly an issue. When I go to other places… its never an eyeroll or problem… the issue is always from the servers, never the chefs. The chefs are entertaining and fun. I cant speak on anything from the sushi menu or the regular menu. So you may have to read other reviews for detail on that. As I mentioned before its a beautiful place, the bathroom are always clean, the bar is center of attention. There is a pond of koi fish when you enter. So if you are in the Glen Burnie area, and looking for a close place to eat, in a beautiful restaurant, with ok food and sucky service… then this is the place for you.

I’ve seen all the reviews here so i went to try it. After about 20 different Japanese steak houses i can say this had the worst food. It all looked prepped well. And the cook was as good as any I’ve seen but i can say the sushi was grocery store grade. I ordered the california roll and the dragon roll. They just were not great. Then I ordered two filet minions and the others at the table ordered the regular steak. All the cuts of the meat were the same and mixed together. My friend ordered a rum punch and the first one and second one were completely different. The second one tasted horrible. Though they said they were the same the colors were completely different. And lastly all the hibachi tasted bland compared to any other I’ve ever tried. I really dont want to say bad things but Unilocal usually doesn’t steer me wrong and this time jt did. The place looked great. We were greeted quickly and all service was very fast. They were very tentative. The food just let me down so bad.

First, l really like the environment and the whole atmosphere. The restaurant has a bridge like entrance with waterfalls on both sides which I really liked. The restaurant is separated into different parts; hibachi, sushi, bar, lounge. Sat at the bar and the bartender and server, Raymond and Tina was very nice and friendly. They helped us with ordering and recommended some dishes. The presentation of the dishes were great. The food was delicious; loved the yellowtail with jalapeño and the kibi steak. We went in on Sunday near closing time. We weren’t rushed to leave or anything. Overall, the place is great. I would come back again.

TL;DR– The food was good and the environment was beautiful, but the service was lacking. Let me preface this by saying I was a server for quite a few years. I know how hectic the restaurant business can be and I always give servers and restaurants in general the benefit of the doubt. That being said, I was less than pleased with our first visit to Sake. As other Unilocalers have stated, the inside of the restaurant is beautiful. We were really impressed to find such a nice looking place in between a pep boys and good will in middle of Glen Burnie. There were separate islands for the bar and the sushi bar, and even a lounge type area off of the sushi bar, with a couch and table. It seems like it would make a nice little hang out! Our drink order was taken right away and was brought out in a timely manner. We asked to start off with the volcano roll, then ordered our hibachi meals. The soup and salad, which were both good, were brought out in a timely manner as well. The hibachi chef made his way over and prepared our meals. He(I believe his name was Scott) was very friendly and entertaining. I ordered the filet and scallops, and my meal was pretty tasty. The only suggestion I would make would be to add more vegetables to the meals. I was growing concerned though, that we still had not received the volcano roll we had ordered. I assumed the waitress had forgotten to order it(as I have done as a server before, it happens to the best of us!) and was just going to ask her to check on it. It was finally brought out after our hibachi meals had been finished. The sushi is where the restaurant started losing points for me. If you look at my other reviews, you’ll see I’m kind of a stickler for sushi being presented as described on the menu. I chose the volcano roll because it was described as «blue crab meat, cream cheese and masago, tempura fried topped with spicy tuna and salmon»(as you can see in a picture uploaded by someone else). If you look at the picture I uploaded, you will see that unfortunately, nothing in the roll at all appeared to be fried, and mango was added(in place of the masago, perhaps, which was notably absent). Also, every bite of the sushi contained bones from the crab meat. I understand it is impossible to get every piece of bone, but every single bite yielded at least three pieces of bones I had to pick out after chewing. The sushi was the first thing that lost points for the restaurant in my book. The second thing was how our server did not return while our hibachi was being prepared at all, or after she dropped of the sushi. We waited at least ten minutes after our plates were cleared by other staff members to receive our check so we could leave. We were the only table left in the hibachi section at that point, and there were about 7 other tables seated in the restaurant. I started to wonder if we were supposed to go up front and pay. Eventually we received our check from our server, then another gentleman came and retrieved it and brought back our card once he ran it. Overall, the food was good, and the environment was lovely, but I am not sure if we will be back. I can only imagine the wait for the sushi, the attention to detail in the sushi, and the attentiveness of the servers will decrease as more people realize the location is open and it becomes more busy. I have to hope, though, that the negative aspects of our experience were just some bumps in the road since the restaurant just opened yesterday. We may give them another try in a few months. Also: I noticed it said that they only serve beer and wine, that is not true. They have what appeared to be a fully stocked bar :)

So, my son and I walked in to just grab a menu and they told us that we were the first customers so we decided to stay and eat. The ambiance is very sophisticated with two waterfalls on either side of the entrance way with lots of tile and dark granite. There’s usual sushi bar and the hibachi grills and they play an eclectic mix of background music. All in all, it’s an inviting place to be in. We ordered the Hibachi Steak lunch and our chef brought out our soup and salad which were both delicious. The salad dressing was the best Japanese dressing I’ve had and the mushroom soup was also very good. The steak, vegetables, and rice were all better than I expected considering it was the first meal they ever cooked! When we were done the host and waitress brought us complimentary fruit ice cream drizzled with chocolate. It was a nice way to finish our early and memorable lunch. I can’t wait to go back with a larger group and go deeper into the menu!

We were driving by on July 9th, 2015 and noticed this place was finally open– that day! They’d been building it since we’d first moved to the area about a year ago. We decided to try it out. Upon approaching it, it’s right next to a Auto Parts store and a Goodwill, very large parking lot. Some people were walking out saying that they were leaving because they were hoping this place was a buffet. This place is NOT a buffet. It’s a sushi /Hibatchi style dining experience. «Hibachi is a style of Japanese cooking where foods are prepared over a hot open grill. Hibachi restaurants use this cooking technique and turn it into an interactive culinary experience for restaurant-goers.» How to eat at a Hibachi restaurant: Walking in, we were instantly stunned. The walkway is a bridge with two little waterfall ponds. Talk about a grand entrance. We got up to the host’s booth, we were greeted and asked if we were there for Sushi or Hibatchi. Looking around, it’s obvious how the place is split up into a few different areas. It looks like there’s a GIANT room for Hibachi style dining, a very large/oval, beautifully lit up countered marble bar, and a smaller, square sushi bar of wood. It’s very dark and feels very intimate. We ordered waters, and got the sushi lunch special where you pick two rolls off the list and it comes with miso soup and a salad. The salad was good, ice berg lettuce with a creamy ginger dressing. The miso soup is salty and delicious. We were gifted, by the sushi chef at the sushi bar, a gorgeous plate of fried salmon garnished with little fig slices. It was delish and oh, so generous of them! They definitely aim to please here since they’re new! All the rolls we got were tasty, and were about the same size as the lunch special rolls at East Moon Asian Bistro. I always recommend the Eel Avocado rolls, as I love eel and always have a sweet tooth. My one complaint is that the food did take a little while to come out, longer than I would have expected for a place that was pretty empty due to them JUST opening up. We were apparently their 3rd customers ever. Pretty rad. :) We will be back again!
