Great experience. Had to redo my driving skills test due to my out of state license being expired. Had a 2:45 appointment arrived 30 min earlier got checked in started my test around 3:00 «which was great» started off on a closed course which consisted of basics maneuvers and a reverse 2 pout turn. Went on the road the examiner I had was great 10 minutes later I passed took my picture and was done. Great experience…

The worst drive test examiner ever! Forgot his freakin name. He is a big white guy with beard. Very prejudice/​racist. Disrespectful! Made me stop in the middle of a drive test to argue with a person on the parking lot. I was sitting in the car waiting for him for minutes! My nerve got into me, I failed and he shouted and screamed at me telling me «go and schedule another test!!!»
OMG I was speechless… Oppressing and depressing!

Decided at around 11:39 to come and get my license renewed. I come to this location because it seems to move rather quickly. I entered the Licencing Building, which is separate from the main building and proceeded to get in the information line, which is required to obtain a number that is needed to be called to receive service. I had «B105» and they were on «B85». Not bad, l thought, as l have had far more numbers ahead of me before.
The reason l decided to go was that they have revamped their licencing services: If you are 40 or younger you have the option to renew online or at a kiosk, provided you have the proper documentation (e.g. vision screening information from your eye doctor). I was also informed that if you decide to come in person to renew, you don’t get your license at that time, but it is mailed to you. Just be sure to hold onto your receipt in case your license runs out before you receive it in case you get pulled over or the like.
Since l am an old lady, l have to come in person now, but have the option to renew online or at a kiosk, with proper documentation, for my next renewal. Until we meet again MVA. au revoir…

I never thought I would say that I enjoyed coming to this location of the MVA. I’m sure that you don’t have many fans of the MVA This location has full service so they can take care of all your MVA need’s. I used to go to the location in Beltsville and it was a ZOO. This location stay crowded as well but this is probably the fourth time I’ve been to this location for different reason’s and they get you in and out within a reasonable period. I was here this time for the road test for my son and yes HE PASSED! The instructors was very nice and informative. I guess that’s what you call them. The staff at the desk area on the C side where you check in at was also very nice, polite and made sure that anyone that was standing in the lines got a chance to check in so that they wouldn’t miss their appointment. After the test we had to go to the B section which moved pretty quickly as well. I would definatley return to this location again. This location is near the Severn area and remember if you can it’s always less of a crowd when you go on a weekday. I always prefer a location that is concerned about getting you in and out and being polite goes a long way to me…

After a less-​than-​impressive experience at a smaller, more local Baltimore MVA (who shall remain nameless), we decided to try the Glen Burnie MVA.
I will say this: it is a big place, with many functions situated in several different buildings, but the signage and helpful staff will quickly direct you to where you need to be.
Firstly, we needed to correct the title to a new car, which for some reason had gotten my name badly wrong. We walked into the largest building, was quickly directed by the signs to the correct counter on the second floor. The service was instant (no queues or other hold-​ups), friendly, cheerful and, boom, done! The whole interaction probably took 5 minutes and I walked out with a brand new, corrected motor vehicle title certificate and proof of registration.
Next, we went to the driver’s licencing information desk. Again, no queue, instant friendly helpfulness. We did have to sit and wait for about 30 minutes for our number to come up for the main counter, but I’ve waited much longer in other MVAs, to much less reward. When, at last, I explained my licencing problem regarding the previous MVA, after a quick conference (I assume) with the boss in the back office, the problem was swept aside and, after a 10 second vision test, I was all set for the ‘written’ test in the next building.
That took about 10 minutes, administered again by friendly, efficient, cheerful staff.
I was there too late in the day (around 4pm) to take the road test there and then. But I’ll be back early in the morning, just so I can take the test there at the Glen Burnie MVA.
I cannot speak too highly of the efficiency, friendliness, cheerfulness, and, well, downright sweetness of the staff there! After my previous experience, and those of other people at other MVA branches, it all seemed like a miracle.
Go, Glen Burnie MVA! Whatever it is you have going there, whether better management, funding, resources, spirit, etc., I just wish you would infect all the other MVAs with it!

Took my driver test today and passed yeaheeee… my drivers instructor was very nice, and patient and Ms marranne the customer rep inside, was nice and sweet too. i love the mvain glen burnie.

Ill tell you what, if you call these people up on the phone, you’ll get A+ service. The nice young lady was very helpful and even her supervisor helped out. They give clear answers and are very polite. Answered all my questions. Great MVA

I paid fines and renewed my registration in less than 10 minutes. Two kind staff members helped me at the kiosk. Other than emptying my wallet it was so quick and easy.

I am impressed with the light hearted, friendly and efficient staff as well as the well orchestrated process during my most recent experience at MVA.
It took one hour to finish the knowledge test process at the building B. It’s pretty reasonable for MVA standard. It is less chaotic and unpleasant than my prior experience ten years ago.
The staff makes all the difference. Whatever they have done to improve the process, just keep doing it.

I do not recommend this MVA.
Some of the employees here seem to have scores they are trying to settle with society (I would venture to say prejudiced/​racist). Oppressed people oppressing people.
I have decided to go to the MVAs outside the city… I’ve had much better experiences with people in the county.

The only perk to live in Nebraska is the DMV lines are less than an hour long… fairly swift process.
I can’t say the same for MD. You stand in line to provide paperwork (15 mins)… which seems like a good idea being as they can let you know that you do not have the necessary paperwork before waiting any longer. Then you wait about an hour longer to finally be called called to take care of your business. I came in on a weekend. So I wasn’t there too long… the clerk was a little rude at first but chilled out.

If you try to show up here at any time other than before opening… you’re gonna have a bad time.
Seriously, find a way to arrive on a weekday and early in the morning. I’ve always done this and am usually out within an hour. Because I arrive early, most staff are usually still in a cheery mood and full of coffee, which means the lines move quicker and everyone’s happier. Can’t really ask for much more from a government administration.

It’s never really a great experience at the MVA, however Cheryl Miller is awesome! She is friendly and made my son whom is taking his learners test, feel at ease. Typically at MVA they have NO customer service skills but Cheryl was so nice and friendly she should give every employee classes in customer service. I really wish she ran the show at the Glen Burnie MVA! Thanks Cheryl!

Came here to exchange my foreign license to a Maryland one.
Arrived at 8:15AM on a Tuesday and there was already a line around the corner; doors opened on time at 8:30 and they did their best to get the line moving quickly. Got my number at 8:50, seen at 9:20, out by 9:50. Exited the building and saw people waiting for parking spots — get here early!
The staff were polite and brisk — they know what documents are needed and prepared everything in a nice stack for you to hand over to the clerk. The clerk I had was also polite, respectful and smiled.
The inside of the building is kept neat and the restrooms are also clean. Announcements were broadcasted clearly and there are screens that mirror the announcements.
Since it’s a HQ, there are many buildings. Each building is labeled clearly and there is a sign that tells you which building does what when you enter the parking lots.

Being here is a violation against our basic human rights. If you’re lucky, customer service is non existent. Otherwise it’s bordering on violent and definitely rude. The clerks are insanely inefficient and unqualified. They each give different conflicting instructions. You’d think freaking registering a new car wouldn’t be so hard, but this is unreal!
Maryland MVA if you’re reading this: get with it. Look at Every other state out there and figure out how they do things. Wasting this much time, money and energy is barbaric and your procedures are archaic and uncivilized.
Can you tell I’m pissed off? I had one stinking day to run all my errands, instead I wasted all day arguing with these fools, getting conflicting instructions and waiting in line. Unacceptable.
I watched one clerk in particular turn away at least 6 ppl trying to get their car registered. That’s you Mr Window 21.

If i could give the MVA zero stars i would. The place sucks the people who work there are assholes. The entire design behind the facility is to pull in revenue for the state. The customer service is non-​existent, I really think they tell their employees to make things as difficult as possible for the people who they are suppose to help. When «minority’s» make up the majority of the work force the business always loses customer service, quality and the company fails, since it is state run the tax payer just picks up the tab or they just raise the price of something.
The police station located at the entrance is there to make sure they have an intimidating bully when someone thinks the treatment of the MVA is unfair. The people claim that they do not make the rules they just work there, but if you are in the service of evil you cannot claim to be innocent.
To summarize my feelings about the MVA: if Al Qaeda flew a plane into the building on ⁹⁄₁₁ i would be wearing an «i heart Al Qaeda» tee shirt always! I know how the majority of Marylanders feel about this criminal institution and the people who leave comments on hear do not represent the horror of this place. This state has a knack for squeezing money out of the people, I am starting to think that the state and government in this country really hate the people here, why else would they make people in this state/​country suffer under the MVA!
If anyone knows somebody working at the MVA please give them the middle finger and tell them to go to hell, from me.

It’s a very large complex because it’s one of the state headquarters but the signage is very clear what building does what so you don’t worry about getting lost.
I had to get my Class M additional license which meant building B where all licensing is done. It was a long line when I entered but it moved very quickly and I got my number soon. I waited on the bench for about 30 minutes before I was called but the actual licensing was a very quick process.
The employees were friendly and pretty polite. The MVA is never a fun experience but I’ll probably go back there because compared to Columbia it wasnt crowded and pretty fast.

I feel like I have to mentally prepare myself for a MVA visit. I think it took 2 weeks for me to take time away from work and go.
Do all your research online first. Worst thing is standing in line for nothing.

Glen Burnie is the largest and can feel overwhelming but it’s not bad at all.

— You fill out a form if necessary and go to the window when your ticket # is called
— The lady may be abrupt with you but is very helpful

I probably was only there for about 30 mins or 40 at the most. Key is to expect horrible service and be pleasantly surprised :-) Or be prepared with everything you need… or both!

I had to go to the full service MVA to register my car and I was expecting a nightmare. It wasn’t a fun experience but it also wasn’t nearly as horrible as I expected. From what I can tell this place was designed by fairly intelligent people. The system seems quite efficient at getting people to the correct desk as quickly as possible and getting their issues taken care of. The problem is that the staff is very slow and not particularly friendly. How hard would it be to smile at people rather than ignoring them for thirty seconds when they first show up at your counter? It’s also pretty clear that employees here aren’t given any sort of incentives to work faster or be more productive. Even simple tasks take forever and are done with lots of sighing and obvious displeasure.

Good experience and MVA are two phrases you almost never find in the same sentence together. but i must say my first trip to the Glen Burnie MVA was a good experience! I went in with a very specific issue that the Beltsville branch couldn’t (or wouldn’t) help me with.
I like how everything is separated out and i dont have to wait in line to be told to wait in line. when i walked in i was directed right up to a counter that could resolve my issue which took less than 10 minutes! I am seriously grateful for the lady behind the counter that did more than she had to and still had me on my merry way in a decent time!
