Dave’s Trim Shop

I had my convertible roof replaced on my Nissan 350Z after it was slashed about 5 years ago. At the time I thought they did a good job. But about a year and a half ago my roof started to rip near the rear window. I called them up about it and they told me they would be happy to replace it for $ 1900. I found that to be way too much. So, I purchased a roof on eBay for about $ 500. And using YouTube and the directions that came with the roof I decided to put the new roof on my car myself. What I found was a little surprising. First thing I saw is they didn’t bother installing the rivets around the back that literally hold the roof on. But the big problem, and I believe may have caused my roof tear, was two straps that hold the back window needed to be riveted to the vehicle. Not only did they not bother riveting those straps properly, they actually cut the straps off. So in conclusion I feel they did a poor job and charged my insurance company in the neighborhood of $ 2000 to do it. Then it cost me another $ 500 more now because there is no way a new roof should fail after three or four years as this one did. I will be following up with my insurance company to let them know of my experience. I would not recommend this shop to anyone. Buyer beware.

I recently sent in a curtain to have rebuilt for a customer. Daves Trim were to quote me a price in the meantime. My customer asked me to bring back his curtain and not have it rebuilt. My customer was to send me 5 more to have rebuilt at a later date. When I asked for the curtain back, Daves Trim mentioned we have lost the curtain in a flood and could not find. Daves Trim reported the flood damage to their insurance company but said they could not add the curtain or reimburse us for another curtain. An employee quoted to me «put yourself in my shoes». I feel Daves Trim does not do business honestly and fairly and would suggest using caution when dealing with them.
