Glen Allen Bistro Pizza & Sub

They have good food and friendly staff, wide variety too. The only con I’d say is that they could update their eating area. Otherwise would recommend for a quick, good meal.

I’ve been living in the neighborhood but never went in because from the outside it doesn’t look very appealing.
Finally last week I wanted to get a fresh grilled chicken sub and since there are only franchises near by I read a couple of Unilocal reviews and decided to give it a try.
Walking in the place looks dated but the food has been great. Their grilled chicken sub is a good as any and tasted great. So far I tried three or four of their menu items and all of them were just as good as I expected them to be. I’ll definitely be visiting the place regularly.

Yuck! The pizza has no flavor. Other food I’ve had here isn’t much better. Also, both times I’ve ordered from this place, they’ve gotten my order wrong.

When you think of a nice local only place to eat, this is it. Not fancy, just comfortable. I am not real excited about their pizza or spaghetti because of the sauce is not to my taste, but he subs are super! My favorite is the steak and cheese all the way. The steak is sliced and marinated fresh and the bread they use compliments it perfectly. The steak fries are just right. The chicken strips are always fried to perfection. It is family run and the employees are very friendly. I recommend this for anyone who craves a yummy steak and cheese! They also sell Hersey’s ice cream, if you interested in a dessert.

Ordered delivery. Simple wings and pizza. Was told about 45 mins to an hour. After an hour and a half we called to be told it was on the way. About 15 mins later the driver appeared. Needless to say the pizza and wings were cold. Pizza was awful. Tasted like a frozen pizza. Wings were ok. Will NOT order from here again.

Anyone who knows me knows that «The Bistro» is my spot! Ever since the good ol’ days at Glen Allen Elementary School, this little hole in the wall has a very special place in my heart. As a matter of fact, getting a «Bistro sub» was always one of the things that I HAD to do every time I came home from college. Full disclosure: This is NOT the place to go to try to impress your significant other. The décor is sub par and the sweet family who owns the place is often in the back dressed down in shorts and t-​shirts making your meals. On the plus side, when you walk in they make you feel like you’re at home. The same people have been running the restaurant and cooking the food since the beginning of time. They recognize their customers and flash a welcoming and enthusiastic smile every time a customer walks in. I order take out from the Bistro more often than I’m willing to admit. As an added bonus, everything is made fresh that day.
Once I find a meal at a restaurant that I like, I tend not to stray from it. My personal faves at The Bistro are: the club sub, spaghetti, pizza, and burgers (all with their delish fries of course)!!! The bread that they use is to die for! To wet my whistle I enjoy getting a fountain drink cup and mixing all of the flavors plus tea. When I really want to get crazy I order a Nehi grape to drink because they are not available many other places!
If you are looking for a casual spot with a «homey» feel to satisfy your craving for Italian food, I urge you to try The Bistro. My stomach is growling as I speak…

We eat at this restaurant fairly frequently and have enjoyed the chef salad, steak & cheese, and ice cream. I was not a huge fan of the pizza or stromboli.

Been coming here for years! Everyone is polite and friendly and the food is great. Never a long wait either, always a plus!

You have come to the motherland of gyros — and some of the best I have had were made here. This family-​owned eatery is nestled in a great spot, right off Staples Mill. I have never had a bad meal here. And the best part is they have dessert right there — yes, ice cream my friends awaits you after you enjoy your meal. The people are super friendly and there are a ton of choices on their menu. Prices are very reasonable. Parking is tight, and there is not much seating inside. Otherwise, great place.

Always great customer service and yummy food. Menu is huge with lots of choices. Pizza is always fresh, hot, and extra cheesy! A definite go to for us at least once a week!

They’ve recently done some décor updates, removing the cheesy 80s grapevine wallpaper border, moved some things around, and painted. Better — but not great. Still stains on the ceiling tile. Pizza is still good. I’d say 4 for the pizza, 3 for other food, 3.5 for décor, 3 for speed. They’re still slow on service.

This is a spot were only locals go. This was the worst pizza that I’ve had in a long tiime. The pizza seemed soggy and tasted like cigarettes… as if someone had blown cigarette smoke over it while preparing. It was inedible.
Also, if you are not a regular, they look suspiciously at you. They sell ice cream… just an FYI.
