Valvoline Instant Oil Change

This place is complete garbage. Everything was all good until they heard I had a groupon. Then all of a sudden for some reason or another they were unable to complete my oil change. Feeding me some bs about not being able to get in the system to register my car. Soooooo. Your telling me every other oil change place can change my oil including you until you found out I had a groupon. What a bs way of getting out of changing the oil since I had a groupon. Complete crock of… «Oh we can’t get in system. We can’t change your oil because we don’t know what type of filter or oil your car uses because of the system. Different filters have different pressure ratings. Blah blah blah. If your car breaks then your gonna sue us and I’ll lose my job. Blah blah blah.» Horrible service. I told them every other oil change place has changed my oil before… They responded by «go there. There down the street». So RUDE. Not sure if the owner was their but they are begging to go out of business with the 6 completely rude employees on the clock… All with a very bad attitude… Horrible. Never experienced this type of service anywhere. I will be filing a complaint with bbb that’s how pissed I am for driving out of my way to patronize this business only to get turned away when I mentioned I had a groupon. I should have waited till they changed my oil first until informing them of the groupon. There’s got to be some sort of false advertising law that this establishment violated.

I went for an oil change and Alex said I had to use synthetic oil and I told him to put the cheap oil in and he said that I would have to sign off on it I told him I would. Then he said I could just leave. When I asked to speak with a manager he said he’d be in tomorrow. When I called their corporate office they didn’t even ask for my contact info

always a good experience. The time saved is worth every extra penny.
I bring both my cars there regularly. Managers are great and value loyal customers.
i use the same $ 10 off coupon every time too… with one of the synthetic blends, at least i feel like i’m getting an extra good deal!

Very efficient, clean & friendly but a little on the pricey side. Also, be prepared for some coaxing by the technicians into other products & more expensive oil types.

Pros: Was in and out quickly. Clean waiting area. Service staff were friendly. I really needed an oil change.
Cons: Bought a Groupon, when I got there I was informed I’d have to pay more /​the difference for synthetic oil. This didn’t bother me as I had expected it, but at the time of service I did not know they offered two different synthetic oil services — nor did they explain or offer them when first informing me I’d have to pay more /​the difference. In the end when I received my invoice, they had automatically performed the more premium synthetic oil service. Yea, I love my car enough for «premium» service but I felt a little duped as this meant not only did I pay the difference between the Groupon and oil service, I also paid an extra $ 20 for the premium service — not knowing I could have saved it. Oh and like other reviews they have a tendency to hard sell other products/​services here. I recommend you shop around or get those coupons!

Like that I can get in and out quickly. Clean, convenient, and coffee while you wait. I have a company vehicle so I don’t get the hard upsell. Whatever my company approves is what I get so this is an area I really can’t comment on.

Meh. I have a love/​hate relationship with Valvoline. This is a chain-​wide problem, not just this specific location. I love the fact that I can get a quick oil change. Their base price for the oil change is pricey but you can always print out a coupon for $ 5 (or have them text you a coupon) prior to going, which brings the price down to a competitive level. So what don’t I love? The hard sell. It is NEVER just an oil change. Every time I go it is something different they are trying to sell: cabin air filters, radiator flushes… you name it, there will be an additional service that I allegedly «really need.»
Now, Valvoline isn’t aware that even though I am a relatively young female, I am not a car idiot. I am aware the cabin air filter looks dirty most of the time until you pull the accordion-​like filter apart, revealing perfectly clean filter space. I am also aware of my particular car’s maintenance schedule, not what some yahoo at Valvoline trying for the hard upsell tells me. As I sit in the waiting area, I see customer after customer believing whatever these guys tell them.
Three stars since I do love the quick service but hate the used car salesman atmosphere of the place. Stand your ground, resist the hard upsell, and it is a decent oil change place.
