I’m between homes right now so needed to do some laundry. It’s been ages since I’ve used a laundromat so I did have a bit of sticker shock when I realized what it was going to cost for a load. This spot has been in business since 1961 and I can see why. The place was super clean, well lit and it appears that all the machines are in good working order. There’s a lady there who works hard every day keeping the machines and floor cleaned and the place ship shape. It might not be the biggest laundromat I’ve been in but it has everything you need, including a vacuum in the parking lot so you can clean your car while you the washer cleans your clothes.

Done laundry twice here and out of all the laundromats I have gone to, it is clean, safe and cost effective! The laundry area at my apartment costs less per load($ 1 to wash/dry), but takes multiple dry cycles to dry and the washer doesn’t rinse properly. I will gladly drive here and do my laundry! Only gripe is the cleaning lady. She kept touching my stuff and moving it even though it wasn’t near where she was cleaning! That and she tried to change the machine settings on the washer from hot to cold. Leave stuff alone!

Its a good spot quiet in the mornings, busy on the weekends, they are open 24 hrs and have a decent variety of washers from $ 2.00 to $ 4.99 and I think .25 for a 8 minute dry… washers work well if you don’t overload and dryers take some time usually jeans and towels need some extra minutes … Also, Beware of Anna banana she’s the gate keeper there and will tell you more then you care to know about her washing machines, by the sound of her stories you’d think she built the things. I guess its sorta entertaining

I find this laundromat clean, large and perfectly fine. .. . except for the Nazi cleaning lady. I like washing early morning(4 – 5 am) when the facility is empty but both times the cleaning lady has been there. Rather than being a quiet, unobtrusive, cleaning person who quietly goes about her day while not disturbing the clients, she’s quite the opposite and always in your way. She makes me feel like I am an inconvenience and should not be in there when she’s cleaning, despite it being early morning and open 24 hours. No matter where I move, she’s there. She bad mouths her boss and complains. Even asked me to pick her up a coffee once, but I wasn’t going anywhere to get coffee. Can’t afford to buy coffee, so I bring my own. But what I found funny was upon leaving, there was a coffee kiosk kitty corner from the place. Really? You cannot walk over and get your own cup of coffee? The last time I was in, there wasn’t a single person in the laundromat. I had the dryers going and was folding my clothes on the three of the washers directly across from the dryers. She made me move all the clothes so she could wipe them down. Really? One cannot wait 15 minutes to wipe down 3 little washers? I’m sorry, but I found that absolutely ridiculous that a cleaning person wouldn’t just quietly stay out of a client’s way, even more ridiculous when there is no one in there, yet she has to clean those 3 little machines right then and there. Obviously she has her cleaning routine and cannot deviate from it. This facility is close and convenient to me, but if I have to put up with talkative, bitchy, cleaning lady that doesn’t have kind things to say, and make me feel like I am always in her way, I’ll go elsewhere. I still shake my head at the absurdity of making me move so she can dust 3 machines. Oh. .. and the clincher. .. once I moved everything, she says, don’t worry about it. I think she left to get her coffee. She didn’t even wipe down the fricken machines. I left!

Nice laundromat! Quiet and so far has had open machines both times I’ve been here. Not to mention very clean. Good prices and they have some nice high capacity washers. Been here three times now. Always the same. Clean and easy to get a machine. And in a good neighborhood.

This is the cleanest laundromat I have ever used. The owner is responsive to any problems that arise with anything. The cost is comparable to any other laundromat and in my opinion is far superior to any of them.

Great laundromat — quick and easy! One reviewer mentioned it was cold, but it was a perfect temperature when I was there. No one mentioned prices, which can help you determine how much $$ you need to bring. Single washers are $ 2, double washers are $ 3.50, and triple washers are $ 4.50. Dryers are $.25 for every 8 minutes. In and out in an hour for me!

Clean, quiet and near the police station. I feel safe coming to this clean laundromat anytime of the day. And yes they are open 24 hours. No t.v., which is nice.

Cleanest Laundromat I’ve Ever Used! I live a few blocks down from Top Notch and when my dryer blew recently I ran down there to do a couple of loads. Having passed by daily, I knew that the owner(?) is there at 0’dark:30 in the morning cleaning the place up. I wasn’t disappointed. The washer and dryer functioned well within expectations and there was plenty of room for me to get my washing done and get out of there quickly. And…just as an FYI, it’s only a block(in either direction) from either a coffee kiosk or Happy Rock Roastery, both on Portland Ave. Big bonus!

How do you review a laundromat? I’m not sure, but I’m gonna try. Being a recent college grad, I’ve known my fair share of laundromats. From Glens Falls, NY to Redding, CA, in fact. This one is average in location and outside appearance, top-dog when you consider the ratio of machines to customers(even at prime time there were a few washers and dryers open), and rates sub-par for internal atmosphere. Meaning: the few chairs were rock-hard and the place was cold enough that I halfheartedly considered joining my clothes in the warm cozy dryer(thus the four stars). But considering my mom and I were the only patrons who actually waited for our laundry(everyone else started the laundry, left, came back to move it to the dryer, left again, and came back to pick it up), I guess most people don’t care about that little detail. I do hope our dryer at home is fixed soon, because it’s just easier to do laundry at home, but if I have to use a laundromat again, Top Notch will be my first choice. I may need a nice heavy coat, but it’s not nearly so bad as the laundromat I went to once in upstate New York: cement floor, prison-cell color scheme, machines that rumbled and growled like a semi-truck … I think that’s the place where stories about horrifying sock-eating dryer monsters were born.
