Wake ‘n Bakery

This was such a pleasant stop on the way to Mt Baker Ski Resort! Right off the road to the resort, its a good stop for coffee and a snack whether its a vegan muffin or breakfast burrito. The breakfast burritos might be a tad small but they are so tasty and delicious! Its a perfect snack right before hitting the slopes. Coffee was great as well. Theres outdoor seating and an upstairs loft, which gives it plenty of room to accommodate people, although you might be a little cramped while ordering. Definitely worth the stop!

Fantastic little coffee shop/​bakery up the mountain towards Mount Baker. Definitely a must stop before going and seeing the incredible mountain scenery.
We ordered mochas and although they were sugar free, were great. The prices here are extremely competitive compared to the other coffee places around Bellingham, less then 4 dollars a cup and the tea is all less then two.
There is a wide assortment of delicious looking pastries and nutritious but bars. Also a ton of cool Wake and Bakery apparel, Get Sconed!

Great baked goods, unique recipes.
This is that place that every great ski or surf town has where groggy locals shuffle in and know everyone, and it just looks like an extension of someone’s living room.
Smallish portions but gourmet taste, but the prices are good so it balances out. I’m not a coffee drinker but I imagine that is the main draw.
Picnic benches, tables inside,. this place deserves some hang-​out time. I can’t believe I didn’t know this place was here (it is a block off the main drag).

Great tea, coffee, baked goodies served with low attitude and friendliness. A must stop to and from Mt Baker all seasons of the year. Great paraphernalia for sale and a cozy convivial atmosphere for a hearty lunch or rise and shine breakfast when visiting one of the most spectacular corners of Washington State. Wish they were open for dinner, too!

This place is a huge gift to all passing through Glacier. In particular, they have delicious breakfast taco/​wrap things. I was really surprised to get such good food that far out in the sticks. Coffee is great too and the place has all sorts of things you might need before heading up to the slopes.

I have stopped here several times since recently shopping for and buying a cabin in Glacier. GREAT coffee! I have had cookies and a breakfast burrito, and gotten a dog cookie, which my dog enjoyed. The breakfast burrito was a little too spicy for me.
Not on the main highway, but there are signs. Really recommend this place for the coffee to stay awake for the drive home.

We stopped in for a coffee and a snack. The coffee drinks were great and so was the breakfast burrito. Decent quality food and quite a few gluten free options. No wifi was kinda a bummer since the food took a little while. All in all it was good.

The hubster and I stopped here after a 6-​day backpacking adventure on Copper Ridge. Wake n Bakery was literally our first contact with civilization — and what a delightful re-​entry it was. I was thrilled to see so many gluten-​free options (being GF under duress), and hubster loved his macaroon. Will return!

One of the best lattes I’ve ever had! Blackberry scones were delish! I love the cozy cabin look and the environment they’ve created. This place is a gem!

We spent a week in Glacier, and four of the mornings were spent enjoying quiche, scones, and delicious lattes at this adorable spot. Rebecca was the friendliest and most helpful barista! We didn’t enjoy the burritos as much as some of the other breakfast delights, but this place is a treasure.

Decent cookies, excellent coffee, wide selection of baked treats, and unique soups on the menu. Excellent company name, excellent employees, excellent music playing in the café, and excellent location in the mountain hamlet of Glacier, WA.
I was so impressed with the business I try to stop in and get a coffee whenever I drive through Glacier… locally-​owned businesses in little towns like this have such a scarce inflow of customers in the off-​season, I figure I better do my part to support them whenever I can.

My wife and I spent several days rafting and hiking in the Glacier /​Mt. Baker — Snoqualmie National Forest Area. The place we stayed – Blue T Lodge /​Chair 9 – doesn’t serve breakfast. so they recommended the Wake ‘n Bakery. We went here four straight mornings, and were never disappointed. You have to love the double entendre of the name of the place!
The proprietors: Cort and Rebecca are super nice, friendly, fun, and helpful. Their coffee and breakfast egg dishes (four types of burritos and two types of quiches) are great and were a great way to fuel for a day of hard hiking in the nearby mountains. What makes this place special though, are the warm from the oven backed goods — every day! My wife talks in her sleep about the Blueberry, Walnuts, and Cardamon scones. Their cookies, and sugary fruit bars are awesome as well. I’m not a sweets person, but I enjoyed everything I tried. There was no question everything was homemade. All dishes are made from scratch on the premises. There sweets are so popular, that many of restaurants in town serve their items on their dessert menus.
The restaurant is comfortable, welcoming, casual, clean and fun. They have a copy of the Bellingham newspaper out so can stay connected to the outside world (if you so desire) while you’re in the mountains. We really liked the option to sit next to the counter area, upstairs in the loft, outside on the porch or at a picnic table in the front yard.
Glacier is a small town and there aren’t many places to have coffee and breakfast (don’t get me wrong: you have a few choices). We were totally content to eat here four mornings in a row and always looked forward to our meal, talking to Rebecca and Cort and the people we met in the restaurant.
They have a groovy selection of colorful T-​shirts for sale that you should check out; they’ll make you smile. We hope to return next summer, and can’t image how fun this place must be during ski /​snowboard season.

I have a cabin on the first foothill (Vedder Mt.) on the way to Mt. Baker. I ski, hike and just spend a huge amount of time up in those foothills. The best part of the trip is bypassing Maples Falls and other stops to go directly to Wake ‘n Bakery for my Ice Quad espresso and scone. I have had their cookies and other treats offered in their well stocked sugar shack.
Always a smile and super high quality products consistently offered at great prices. I love taking their stuff hiking and just enjoyed java and cookies up at Artist Point (via motorcycle). Sometimes I take them to Lake Ann for an overnight trip. Sugar is most appreciated in the back country.
I have been a fan of this place since it opened next to the ski shop. Their new (3 yrs) place is awesome with seating, summer breeze/​shade and relax mode all around. Worth the trip, every-​time and way better than anything else outside of Bellingham (or Vancouver).

First of all, I should give this place 5 stars for the name alone! Are you kidding me?! BRILLIANT!
Second of all: this is everything you want a little mountain coffee shop to be (good coffee, funky atmosphere) and nothing you don’t (touristy, starbucksy, soulless).
Seriously, the guys working here were very nice… even though I was doing a thing I despise: I was standing around staring at everything not knowing what the hell I wanted to order, sorry I was «that guy».
And the breakfast burritos here? Fantastic! Usually food at coffee shop/​bakeries is pretty uh… throw-away…like, they’ll microwave you a jimmy dean’s sausage sandwich from the freezer and charge you 6 bucks… NOT HERE. There were multiple burritos to choose from, they were all very unique (mine had NUTS in it!) and very good.
As a bonus we ate outside and met a mischievous and friendly local dog named «Woods». He was really nice, but they may or may not have had to do with the fact that we were humans with burritos.
ONE MORE THING: you get one free refill with your coffee purchase! This is an increasingly rare thing to find in 2013, everyone wants to nickel-​and-​dime you on refills it seems…

Wake & Bakery is reliably great. Hearty breakfast burritos, good coffee, good pastries, homey environment, conscientious and friendly staff. Always a good vibe at the Wake & bake!

We’ve written off the food here after several unimpressive pastries and a disastrous quiche with a soggy, undercooked crust, but I still love Wake ‘n Bakery for their coffee, their good prices, and their friendly service. They’ve re-​organized the inside to add some seating, and the wooden tables are really cool. Definitely worth a visit!

My partner and I stopped in here when in Glacier looking for some tasty and (somewhat) healthy post-​ride and hike food. We were so pleased with what was on offer we came back the very next day. The cakes and cookies were fantastic while the breakfast burritos were tasty and hearty. The coffee was top notch too, however one of the highlights has to be the setting. The modest house has been converted nicely into a little café and the front garden setting was just perfect on a sunny late summer’s day.
Well worth the one-​block detour off the highway.

We stopped here today on our way up to Mt. Baker and I’m really glad we did. Excellent coffee and oh so yummy snacks. In addition to the standard coffee house selections, they had a wonderful assortment of cookies and things. The snickerdoodles are fantastic, with buttercream frosting. Amazing. They even had fresh baked doggie biscuits and we had our dogs with us, so they got treats too. The owner/​baker was there along with another, I think, employee and both were super nice. Seating was all outdoors, which was great since today was absolutely gorgeous!
Bakery is located on a side street parallel to the main road. Not terribly hard to find at the end of the strip in Glacier. Will definitely stop here again next time we head to Mt. Baker. :-)
They also seem to have a nice selection of breakfast options and a couple of sandwiches as well, including some vegetarian-​friendly fare.

I love this coffee house. Didn’t see the signage and would have driven by none the wiser if I hadn’t snuck behind Milanos to find some grass for a doggie potty break. Went in to ask a question and was mesmerized by the good vibe and energy and colors and neat offerings in the place. One of the owners, Court, was working that day and was really nice to me. IMO this is what Seattle coffee houses should aspire to. If I had a coffee house, this is what I’d aspire to.
They have THE BEST bakery items of any coffee house I’ve ever been to – and I’ve been to a lot. I’m talking scones and cookies and such to spend your last change on. There are only two places on the planet that I’ve had macaroons to die for and one of those places is here.

I will bump this place up to 5 stars once the remodel is complete! It looks great so far!
The name itself is awesome… I had to stop.
