History

Established in 2006.

Alaska Backcountry Access (ABA) is a Girdwood/​Alyeska based adventure tour operator dedicated to capitalizing on the personal and social benefits of remote recreation. ABA leads the outdoor adventure industry by offering innovative, exciting and authentic experiences suitable for individuals, families and groups.

Personalized experiences benefit our clients while multiple daily departures optimize ABA’s guides, equipment and backcountry areas. Forest Service, State of Alaska and local permits allow nearly exclusive use of world class backcountry areas in Alaska.

Operating year-​round since February 2006.

Andy Morrison owns and operates Alaska Backcountry Access utilizing an engineering degree, 20+ years of guiding experience and a family business background.

Backcountry travel defines our operation and guiding into the wilds of Alaska is our profession. Offering small group adventures highlighting Alaska, our skills and wilderness knowledge.

Understanding land management, tourism trends and guiding operations provides quality products that sell well with cruise lines, destination managers, Alaskan tour agents and hotel concierges.
