Richard R background is in business development for a number of silicon valley in companies including a start up he helped found. His expertise is in the field RF, Microwave and Optical semiconductors Some of the products he developed are in used auto remote access and security today. Richard started Pop-​A-​Lock of South County with his son who is trained/​licensed high tech locksmith.

My friend and I were at the beach, I put the car keys in my jacket, and when we got down to the beach, I began to run around like an idiot. Long story short, I lost the keys in the water. Out of 6 or 7 different locksmiths, Pop-​A-​Lock was the one with the most reasonable quote and service. Their technician Aaron was extremely helpful. He made a follow up call, gave us an approximate time, he was very courteous and understanding of our situation. Aaron had excellent customer service skills, was friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt with the service. I would recommend Pop-​A-​Lock to everyone in this situation, and if Aaron is your tech., you’re in good hands. Thank you again Aaron, we appreciate it.

Needed a whole new chip key for my ’09 Ford Fusion. Excellent, prompt and courteous service. Paid $ 315 and received the key I needed plus 2 spares. Even came right to me. The dealership was going to charge me that price for 1 key and I still needed to have my car towed to them which was going to cost another $ 80. So overall, I received a great deal. I would recommend them to anyone in the same predicament.

I used these guys before when I was locked out of my car. They arrived promptly for the time of day and distance from their office. The fee was reasonable even after they drove 25 miles in rush hour. My car was opened quickly and I was back on the road.
When I called again about two months later to ask about having a new blank key cut and programmed the person who answered the phone was rather rude and I decided to go with another company that worked out very well.

I have a GEICO road side assistance, when I have raised a request through GEICO the assigned this company. They didn’t show up in agreed time, when I called them they said running late by 30 mins and when I called 30 mins later they said can’t service in that area. Was a bad experience being road side waiting for help more than 3 hours.

Great experience with these guys. Awesome to know Geico roadside assistance is contracted with them. I paid exactly what I was quoted and was estimated a 2 hour wait because of saturday. Aaron arrived almost a hour early and took care of duplicating my old key that was bent a bit and made 2 keys that now work perfectly. My old key would not turn my ignition. Very friendly and fast. Would recommend to anyone. Thanks again!

The staff was extremely rude, I called them twice about a car issue I was having, having lost my keys. At first she quoted me for 250, she said this offer was good for 45 minutes. I called her again within 20 minutes to ask if my existing keys would work with the programming if I found them in the future and then she told me a locksmith would call you and that she can’t talk to me no more. I waited and no call. Called her again and she said the key was sold and they can’t help me goodbye… Extremely rude. She seem to show no interest in my business, not quite sure why.

AARON WHO!!! ETA 10:31am. Received a call at 10:49a from AARON stating his arrival would be in 10 minutes. I had a business call at 11a that could not be interrupted. We agreed to provide Aaron access to my vehicle so long as the key was in the car. «No Problem,» he says. Smooth transition and easy fix.
Instead, I get a call and text from AARON that my car is in the garage and he had other calls to get to. UUUUMMMM DUDE, I HAD A FLAT! I TOLD YOU MY CAR WAS IN THE DRIVEWAY! SERIOUSLY!!! DID YOU EVEN COME BY!!! I CAN SEE MY CAR FROM MY OFFICE WINDOW???
I returned your call and text message. To no avail… you became radio silent knowing you FAILED TO DO YOUR JOB!!! Nice work AARON :)!!!

I was at the Gilroy outlets this weekend and lost my keys to my new car. Called the Infiniti dealership, they couldn’t take the car til Monday and I would have to get it towed. I called some locksmiths online but few answered. Those that did couldn’t do a new q50. Luckily I found Pop-​a-​lock. Aaron got here in 20 minutes and had me on the road real quick, so that was cool. I paid hella less than what the dealer quoted and he hooked it up with a second key so I had to hook my boy up with a review. Thanks again

Called Richard at Pop-​a-​lock. He said his guy would be here in 15 minutes. It’s now been 35 minutes. I called and asked Richard where his guy is and that I’m waiting. Asked if I’d get a discount for waiting around for him, he said: «Uh no, I don’t think so, you are already getting a discount since my guy is already in your location» I thanked him for being such a great (insert sarcasm here) customer service advocate.
My whole issue is, don’t quote a time you can‘t meet. Horrible customer service Richard! If I could give you half a star for merely being a warm body to answer the phone, I would.

«I» ran out of gas. Me! I don’t do this but it happened. My motorcycle gauge said 24 miles left. I knew better but kept going thinking I would make it. Then poof. By coyote creek I died out. Walk of shame to the off ramp. My Progressive insurance called Pop-​a-​lock. They were there really fast! The guy that arrived brought me gas and I was ready to go. He says, if u ever need a key, give him a call… as he handed me a business card. I asked if he made motorcycle keys. He made my key and was even able to make a key for my Givi trunk box. I couldn’t find that key for the life of me but he made it happen. Insurance covered most of it and the keys and gas were totally reasonable. I am pleased with their fast, friendly great service!
