The selection at this store is quite good, there’s no doubting that. The service leaves a lot to be desired. I found a beer that I wanted to purchase, took it to the counter, and the person running the register promptly started questioning me about where I got the beer. After I told them where I found it, they said that it wasn’t for sale. I was rather disgusted with the exchange and I will be taking my business elsewhere. In conclusion, good selection but poor service.

Pliny the Elder… nuff said.
They carry an impressive collection of craft brews and old favorites. David was pleasant and helpful. He recommended «like» beers when they were out of the one I was shopping for. They let you build your own 6er which I think is pretty ingenious — overall great hidden gem!

This store is awesome it’s neck and neck with Bevmo. Ha I promise you that! Called to ask he could hold a pliny the elder and they did which was really cool of them to do that. It’s an older guy, he’s awesome every time I go in he’s always cheerful and cool. But selection of beer was awesome too! When I don’t wanna pay an arm and a leg for a 6er of ballist point sculpin I got to papa to get a single for 2.50 that I can pay not 16 bucks for 6. So awesome liquor store

The selection here is awesome! And build your own 6 pack is even better! He even carries Pliny the Elder! Owner is super friendly and gives great recommendations. Definitely at great liquor store.

These guys are great! Awesome beer selection. He held a bottle of Pliny for me until I could get over there to buy it. It’s usually only in stock for a few days before they sell out. The Sculpin IPA is right up there with Pliny if you’re looking for a close second that isn’t distributed one case at a time.

This is great place with great service and beer selection. I was looking for a certain beer and the manager/​owner found the beer for me and ordered for the store. That is going above and beyond.
I was in there yesterday, he remembered me and helped me pick out some special beers, that went over very well with my favorite beer drinker.
I bought so much that it filled a large box– which was graciously carried to my car– without my asking.
Here you will get friendly service and personal attention. Gilroy could certainly use more businesses with this approach.

After checking multiple places, I called here looking for Pliney the Elder and was told they only had one left. Because I couldn’t drive up until the next day, the associate saved the bottle for me! It was obvious they don’t normally do this because when I came in the next day, the associate on duty was shocked that there was still a bottle available, hidden in a corner in the back room.
I owe you guys for one of my most important Christmas gifts this year! I’ll definitely be stopping in whenever I’m in San Jose!

This place has an AWESOME craft beer selection. The guy who owns the place I’m assuming, is super friendly and will talk about beer all day if you want. I asked if they had something and he did not but he immediately got on the phone to his distributor to see if he could get it. Now thats what I call service!
