I showed up here in the middle of the night. Sandwich was great.

Food is super good. Hot and fresh. Somedays it gets packed but I can’t blame them this place makes cheesesteaks right. I love the pepper steak. The staff are very friendly. Prices are a little steep but I’m all about supporting small local business in Gilroy. And they hate the dodgers what more could I ask for. Go Giants!!!

An awesome place for cheesesteaks and they have the BEST fries hands down. If you want REAL garlic fries, this is the place! These guys are tearing it up in the kitchen! High energy, happy environment with great team effort, very welcoming and accommodating to their customers! Can’t find all that in one place that often anymore… Calling ahead is very smart since they’ve been known to have a line out the door. Food is always tasty, hot and fresh, it’s a clean place too! What more can you ask for?

Y. U. M! These sandwiches are amazing! We are new to Gilroy and trying to check out all of the really good local food joints. The owner is clearly a Giants fan, and the inside décor is fun and Gilroy/Giants themed. It was clean inside, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I figured the fries order would serve more than one and was told it would. And it sure did. And then some! My daughter had the chicken strips and they were also really good!

I noticed a few people called ahead, it was definitely wise. They were in ane out pretty quickly. Our wait was long, 20 minutes. I was able to fill up my cup twice. The soda machine is easy to access which is cool. Most of the sandwiches here are around $ 8 which isn’t bad considering they they are a great size. I was surprised. I was full off of just the sandwich and a couple fries. We ordered 2 Californian sandwiches, a teriyaki sandwich, hot wings(the spicy ones), and a kids meal with the ¼ lbs burger. *Great kids meals– We have two kids(3 year old and a 2 year old) and and we only had to purchase one meal. That was great since the burger was big enough to split and came with a good amount of fries for them to share. Saving money is always exciting for me. I just started a college fund for my kids so pinching penny’s and cutting corners is a must. It was $ 6 for a small drink, a bag of fries, and your choice of a burger, chicken strips, corn dog or chili dog. *Great teriyaki sandwich– If you love anything teriyaki then this is the sandwich for you. I made sure I tried a sample of the sauce first then made my decision. It tasted just like the teriyaki steak I had at Henrys Hi life but in a sandwich! M-I-N-D B-L-O-W-N. I got peppers in my sandwich though thinking it would be bell peppers but they are chili peppers. Uh oh! I ate half of my sandwich before realizing it. I was bright red half way through. So i just took out the rest and kept eating. Mmmm soo good. The bread was toasted on the inside only. *Californian sandwich — not as great as the teriyaki, it was almost bland. The bread was kinda hard and they didn’t put enough mayonnaise. In my opinion the avocado needed salt too. Wish Wishing could say more but I’d rather get an avocado sandwich from nob Hills deli. Those are delicious. My husband also ordered the wings. The hot ones. The cashier made sure to notify us they are really hot. They did not disappoint! So for all you atomic lovers out there, be sure to grab some of these buffalo wings. So our total came out to about $ 45. For two Californians, a teriyaki, ten hot wings, and one kids meal. Not too bad. The place was clean and had a very nice cashier who had great opinions. She gave samples of sauces and was able to tell us which sandwiches are more popular. The popular ones tend to be tastier. I am so glad I chose the teriyaki. I can’t get over it. I’m definitely coming back

Loved the food. Even more than the food though, I loved the service. I was impressed with how fun and courteous the team was on my visit. It was my first time and they answered all my questions and were super helpful. Even if the food wasn’t as good, I would be more likely to keep eating there based on the service. Great job. Love supporting the smaller, more local companies.

My husband has been wanting to go for the longest time and I always never wanted to go. I have to admit this is our new favorite spot. Love the atmosphere, the food, and staff. I highly recommend.

I’m a PA native. I’d say this is the best cheese steak I’ve had outside that area! :) The only thing missing is that char/carmelization on the meat. That said I thought the meat was good. Tender. The bread too, that can break a cheese steak. It wasn’t dry. We got regular fries and the seasoned ones. So many sides to choose from. We liked the regular ones best. The seasoned ones were good but had too much seasoning on them. Like way too much. Might try the tots next time. The prices were great too.

Never been here before and the guy taking my order was kind enough to go through the menu with me, describing the differences between the items. Food was made to order, not on an assembly line which definitely added to the flavor.

Pretty tasty but a little pricey. Wings were tasty! I would come here again. Worth driving into to town. Small location but fresh food!

1 star for Tater tots! Love these ! They come out hot and crispy. Awesome, even if they are just the cheap frozen ones i buy at Safeway! They taste so good fresh from the fryer So. Note to ownership 1. You have many choices of fried sides, you need to offer a 50⁄50 combo or a mixed fried fattie basket. I asked for half fried and tots(grab a handful of each and throw in the fryer, and charge me $.50 more), but to no avail 2. Your sandwiches are very, very weak on the quantity of meat. 3 ounces is waaay not enough. The meat doesnt even fill to the edges of the bread. Make a meaty cheesesteak! Amatos in sj really fills them up, AND their bread really is dialed. Those crunchy toasted rest depot rolls you use are no Buenos. So to sum it up! Go for the TOTS!

I had the best service Herr at A-jays cheese and stake, if you want a good Burger or sandwich this is the place to be. I got a mushroom Burger and that was amazing, while my boyfriend got a California sandwich which he enjoyed. The manager Roman was a great help.

This place is delicious, especially the garlic fries! The classic cheesesteak is quality because the ingredients such as the bread and beef are quality.

What a pleasant dining experience! You walk into a clean eating area and are welcomed by a neatly dressed, polite counter-person who appears happy to be at work. Behind him is the open kitchen which is spotless, staffed by a cleanly dressed cook who prepares each meal to order. It is great to see how neat and enthusiastic all the employees are. I’ve been here several times and every aspect of the operation is consistently 5-star. Keep up the good work!

Yummy, yummy! We go here at least a few times a week! The cheesesteaks are so good. Lots of choices and the bread they use is so soft and perfect for a substantial cheesesteak! I love the pepper steak and often as them to add mushrooms. I sometimes get the teriyaki cheesesteak, it’s different and sweet and very delicious. Also, I would say the cheesesteaks are not ridiculously huge. What’s great about that is that they fill you up for sure, but they don’t leave you uncomfortably full. My husband is a wings connoisseur and he adores the buffalo wings. He also loves the grilled pastrami! The tader tots are so perfect. Very crispy! The hot dogs are really nice options and OK. If the condiments weren’t cold when they dress up the dogs, I’d get them more often. This is the only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars. See you in a few days… we were just there :-)

Today was our second time eating at A-Jay’s. Our first time was at the Morgan Hill location about a year or two ago. The first time I tried their cheesesteaks, I thought it was really rich and too greasy. Tried it today, and it was really good. Not so greasy this time. The whole fam had the classic. Mine was Light on the cheese, perfect spice from the hot peppers, and meat was tender and juicy. The fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

I ordered a pastrami hogie but they forgot to add the lettuce tomato and mayo. It’s .75 extra and didn’t notice until I got home. I would have given 4.5 stars otherwise. The pastrami used for the sandwich was so good. Unlike TOGOs where it is 50% meat 50% gristle this is quality meat. Everything about the sandwich was fantastic. I also ordered a side of frys also that were crispy and not greasy which is hard to find. Don’t order the frys unless you have someone to share them with as they give you a lot. I will be back for sure, but I will look at the sandwich before I leave.

My first time there today. I’ve been seeing everyone rave about it on Facebook so I had to try it. Met the owner Rianda who was so nice even taking the time to explain things on the menu. Note that I purposely went at a non busy time. I heard the line gets out the door. Now I know why. I decided on the Pastrami with Provolone, Peppers and Onions. Oh My Gosh it was delicious. The flavors popping in my mouth were spectacular and the bread is phenomenal. They get it fresh everyday from a bakery in Hollister, Ca. I also tried their seasoned fries. They were hot, crispy and delicious. Check them out. Even if you have to wait it’s worth it.

HOLE in the WALL-best places to dine and wet my palate. This hole in the wall is a rainbow of flavors on the lips, mouth, and tongue. Philly Cheese Steaks from Philadelphia, PA step aside and move over because the new Cheese Steak sandwich King is rolling into town with a mouthful of heaven. All the sandwiches are hecka good! Every bite bursts and crunches with a mouthful of bliss. The bread tastes so delicious that my tongue dances around every bite. The hoagie bread is soft and perfectly chewy, while at the same time crunchy dripping with flavorful meat, cheese, veggies, chilies and whatever my little heart desires. The meat inside is always cooked to perfection. The hoagie cheese steak is stuffed with tons of meat. This guy does not hold back and is super generous. I love the classic hoagie, but have tried almost everything on the menu. EVERYTHING is mouth watering. By the way, make sure to order the GARLICFRIES. Fresh garlic is minced and added to the garlic fries. This is a must since Gilroy, CA is the garlic capital of the world. Every french fry is tasty. If my mouth wants a burn, Ajay’s shares the specialty hot sauces, well, the hole in the wall offers up a variety of tingly, tasty, burning, yummy hot sauces. A large Diet Coke or any drink is a must to wash down Ajay’s perfect sandwiches. Whoooya! Hoooray! yeah! I LOVEAJAY’S. Go get you some! That all. PS enjoy the HOTFRESH meal!
