Sun Devil Auto services all makes and models and can perform full services on extended warranties along with maintenance on factory warrantied vehicles. Our ASE Certified technicians have experience in all areas of automotive repair including air conditioning, engine diagnostics, fuel and exhaust systems, power steering, and much more.

For your convenience we offer a courtesy shuttle at no charge, online appointment scheduling, and free towing with most major repairs. We are truly the «Alternative to the Dealership» offering competitive pricing and quality auto repair and maintenance.

Established in 1978.

Sun Devil Auto is a family-​owned and operated complete auto repair and Maintenance Company. Established in 1978 in the Phoenix area, we’ve grown with the Valley to over 20 locations in Arizona, 5 in Nevada, and 3 (soon to be 4) locations in Texas.

Our company is built on honesty, integrity, and a sound reputation. Sun Devil Auto has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, employs ASE Certified technicians, and is committed to excellent customer service.

My name is Mike Kline; I’ve been in the automotive industry for 16 years and with Sun Devil Auto for 10. I love working for Sun Devil Auto because I enjoy the family-​like atmosphere and the exciting growth of this fantastic company.

My favorite car is the DeTomaso Pantera, a classic, quick, and beautiful machine. I have a huge passion for motorcycles and I enjoy riding them in my spare time along with spending time with my wife of ten years and our two wonderful kids.

Mike and the staff deserve so much more than 5 stars! He towed my vehicle from the dealership, called the manufacturer to replace a damaged part, explained every detail to us, got it done quickly, and offered a car to pick me up to retrieve my vehicle. The dealership wanted to charge us over $ 3000 for repair but Mike had us out the door for $ 300 by calling the manufacturer and repairing what was needed. I will definitely consider Sun Devil for future repairs over the dealership. Way to go, Mike and Sun Devil, for incredible service!!! Thank you!

Wow! I can’t say enough great things about the guys at this Sun Devil location! I would give them more stars if there were any more. They have worked on my truck before and finally brought it back to peak operating condition. I swear the truck has a gremlin and these guys have gone up and above in effort to find the problem. Today, I pulled in with the truck coding (finally) and these guys came right out and took care of my problem. The mechanic, Jason, kept digging until he found exactly what was wrong and fixed it on the spot. I love these guys and their professional, competent, but friendly way of doing business! Keep up the good work guys! You are the best!

Great service and the employees were very welcoming and nice. Free tire rotation and they check all fluids and everything else. Price is very reasonable, plus Unilocal provided me with a $ 5 discount which is a plus :)

Called about getting a tire plugged and was told there was about a 45 minute wait. Arrived about 10 minutes after I talked to them and my vehicle was taken back right away. Between the phone call and leaving Sun Devil I bet the total time was 45 minutes and no charge. Appreciate the quick service!!!

Got the «what-​ever!» have a nice day’ from management; he bluntly knew I was upset about their service today. Disgusted and NOT coming back. Caught them in a lie called them out on it and they continued to lie some more. That when they choose the immature «what-​ever attitude, words and actions. We have used them for years and even recommended to friends and family, however not any more. No more sun devil auto for us.

I took my car there because it would not start. I was told it was the battery and then given a list of other things that were wrong with my car and potentially cause problems in the near future. I was told that the total for all the repairs would be $ 2500. I initially told them that I could only approve repairs up to $ 1000. I was then told that I could post date a check for up to 6 weeks for the remaining $ 1500. I then approved the rest of the repairs with the confirmation that I could post date a check and explained to them that we do not do credit cards. When I arrived to pick up my car and my total was no longer $ 2500 it was $ 2695. I paid the initial $ 1000 that I agreed to and had a post dated check for the remainder. I was told that they needed to have my post dated check approved thru a 3rd party company. I was never explained this and told them I would have never agreed to the additional amount if they would have explained this. I did not want a 3rd party company to have my personal checking account number! I also never approved any amount over $ 2500! Montgomery (so called manager) was very rude and basically stated that he would need to listen to the phone conversation to see if I was telling the truth. They had $ 1000 of my money and would not give me my car and said they had to «figure it out». It is now three days later and still have no car. Montgomery supposedly listened to the phone conversation and called me saying that it sounded like the post dated check procedure was not explained… Well I still don’t have a car and they still want over the amount that was agreed upon! This was a very shady way to do business and feel completely taken advantage of. They are basically holding my car hostage.
***update*** Sun devil auto and the management there have come thru. They admitted their faults and made things right. I can appreciate a business that can admit when they are in the wrong and apologize. We will be returning for further service when needed on our vehicles.

The personal at the front desk are exceptional. Always polite and informative above all else they are honest which is very hard to find in that industry. Will always go back

As far as mechanics go, I have had mostly bad experiences with ones that are shady and dishonest, but I definitely don’t feel this way when I go to Sun Devil Auto on Higley. Mike, the manager, runs a tight ship and makes sure his staff of mechanics are always on top of what needs to be done, and I never get charged for services I don’t need. Every time I come in, Mike remembers me and addresses me by name. Great customer service! I will definitely keep going back to Sun Devil on Higley!

I have used this location several times for a variety of services (AC work, oil changes, window tints) and the result has been good each time. The staff is friendly and fully explains the work to be done.
The pricing is reasonable for the work performed and there have been no surprises. I would highly recommend them.

We have been taking our cars to Sun Devil Auto for a couple of years now. They have always been able to work us in when needed. Great customer service! They are honest and to not push us or charge for things that do not need done.

These guys always give you the straight story about what’s going on with your car. They stand by their work, meaning, if you’re not satisfied they will fix it until you are. On two occasions they’ve gone back several times to fix something that was defective, probably costing themselves significantly in labor charges well above what I paid. But, they’ve earned my loyalty and business for life.

After leaving Sun Devil angry, I receive a call from Mike (he is either the manager or general manager of the location) apologizing for the misunderstanding regarding my coupon. He admitted he should have asked more questions regarding the coupon I received and that he did not look up the full history of my vehicles until after I left. He offered to provide the oil change and maintenance check for free and at my earliest convenience.
Still a bit angry, I refrained from accepting at that moment. Mike said to call him if I decided to accept and he would fit me in the schedule. After thinking about it a couple days and reflecting on my own past retail/​C2B experience, I decided that the one thing I always wanted was a chance to correct my mistake, so I called to schedule the oil change.
Upon driving up and walking in, I was welcomed by name and my vehicle was taken back immediately, services was complete and came with a list of recommended fixes.
Overall, this latter experience is one that I had come to expect from a Sun Devil Auto shop and is the reason that there are always a line of cars waiting to be serviced by the shop. While my history is still a little suspect, we are moving the right direction and I will most like return to this shop in the future because Customer Service Matters and Mike delivered on that.

There is NO WAY i will bring any of my cars back to this place. Not only do they charge more but work done is horrible. Problems encountered. 1) Fix the automatic window regulator in the rear left where my daughter normally sits. Picked up the car and while making a right turn, door flings open when it is locked. Luckily my daughter was not in the car and no one got hit. Returned it but never told me what they fixed. Also a screwdriver was left in my daughters car seat. 2) Took the car for oil change and got a call that need to replace the radiator hose and cap. Even though did not have issues before and trusting I stupidly said yes. Got the car back and for the next 2 weeks had to bring back in because car overheated several times. And this was in the springtime. No way i would recommend this place. More horror stories but I hope this is enough.

I really don’t know where to start!!! First of all hands down the best customer service I have ever experienced at an auto shop or anywhere for that matter.
Chuck Fisher runs the auto shop and I had the pleasure of working with him. He made sure to give me accurate pricing, kept me well informed on my repairs, and he and the awesome mechanics there saved my family from a potentially life threatening dangerous situation with an issue on our car!!!
The quality of work was great they take no short cuts… and they were very fast. I will never go anywhere else. Thank you to Chuck, your staff at the front desk, and mechanics for making my experience positive, fixing the things I came in for, and being honest with our family. I will NEVER go anywhere else for my cars.

I dropped by with something flapping and dangling underneath my car. Some sort of a hard plastic strap. They were very sweet. They pulled it right in (even though they were busy) and fixed it.
Not five minutes went past when a young man brought my car up to the front door. I went up to the cashier… Nervous about the possible charges.
Free! What a kindness! I’m m sure that they could have charged me something, but they were very kind

With 4 vehicles in our family, we have had a long relationship with SD. Overall, Mike and his team have always taken excellent care of us and the cars. We have never had any breakdowns on the road since in their care. I would recommend to family and friends. From time to time, they have even gone above and beyond normal service by investigating a few mysterious issues with our vehicles, even doing so without charging us for their time.
I would give them 5 stars, but they have made a few mistakes along the way, including one serious, neglectful error, that could have caused devastating damage to my work van had I not noticed the loose lug nuts on my rear wheel upon getting it home. We worked through the issue after Mike had a very sincere conversation with my wife. My suggestion for their team is tighten up on the details, like topping off fluids, filling tires and, especially, tightening lug nuts. Otherwise, they are my goto road crew.
