Paulene’s Nails and Spa

I normally don’t go to Unilocal to vent, in fact most reviews that I actually do are raves. This one warrants a review so I can hopefully ward off anyone else looking to score a deal. I really wish I did my homework prior to going in, but I honestly went because I was tempted by the coupons. I wanted a full set of acrylics and know the drill. I was immediately sat down in a chair… next to someone else still getting her manicure. I sat there twiddling my thumbs for several minutes until I was finally waited on.
However, I was quickly just one of several customers this one lady was trying to attend to all at once. I’m sorry, but rushing through the job doesn’t make me happy. After arriving home, a friend pointed out that there was no top layer to my nails! I was in such a hurry to get out… after being neglected for 15 minutes, that I failed to notice this. Apparently it costs $ 15 extra for a UV gel topcoat, and one, I was not offered this. And two, even if I was, I would have politely declined. That doesn’t mean you should not put on ANY sort of top coat, gel or not! My nails chipped within two hours! Super disappointed I spent any money on this place. They clearly do not have have customer service standards. Do not recommend to anyone.

If I could rate this place negative stars I would. They have to be the most rude humans I have ever met. I asked for a fake set manicure. The sat me down to a woman who didn’t speak a single lick of English. I told her I didn’t want any filed off my real nails, she ignored my request and filed anyway. I said id like the fake set, showed her a photo and she acknowledged. Then she began to paint my nails. I said no I’d like what I showed you. She acted like she didn’t understand. Then a man whom I suppose is the owner said oh you said wrong, a fake set is not a manicure. After he managed to say five times that I was wrong, they finally moved me to a different spot to get the fake ones. These people have horrible customer service. Blaming customers for their incompetence, anyone knows that’s fake means acrylic. And to top it off, they don’t use clean utensils. The lady pulled them out of a drawer, and they had old nail filings on them. They weren’t clean. I wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy… I can’t emphasize enough how horrible this place is. I would not waste your time or money on them. There are too many nail places to be treated so poorly, especially when I’m paying them for their service. Horrible.

This place is a joke, took my kids and wife here for mothers day to get there toes done. Both my daughter’s toes turned out horrible, smeared bad. They re did my wife’s big toe 4 time times and it’s still crooked. Do not come here ever

Worst place ever!!! Do not waste your money we went in a group of 5 and everyone of us left very unhappy. Not only did it take forever they messed up on every design. Will never go there again.

I used to love this place but the last few times have been extremely disappointing. This last time I asked if they were too busy, I was in a time crunch. They said no. I went to the chair and it took them 10 minutes to put water in the chair and 20 more minutes to finally start the pedicure. My tech jumped from customer to customer and was constantly looking around. My nails had to be repainted twice because the guy couldn’t do it. Finally a lady had to come finish the job. Time to find a new place. Really disappointing since I’ve been going here for years.

Got acrylics done with Regular Polish over the top ($ 23). It’s an extra $ 15 to get gel on the top instead, so I skipped that.
I’m happy with the way the nails turned out, but the tech did get my cuticles twice with the drill tool. I didn’t bleed or anything it was just sensitive.
There was a guy sleeping on the job in the back but I could care less. With my tip I was $ 28 out the door! For my next time I got there price– $ 30 for regular white tip acrylics. Not bad.
EDIT: I DID print & cut out the $ 23 coupon from their site. I handed it to the lady as soon as she got to the register so there was NO mistaking the price.

I was shopping in the area and needed a nail fill badly. I saw the banner 20% off all «nail work» and decided to stop in. I love how these places always say they can get you in right away or in a few minutes and once they begin to work on you leave you to attend to other people. This happened several times. I was disturbed to see what appeared to be fungus on the nail tech’s hands. She was obviously taking on too many clients at once and rushed through (she talked me into replacing the full set). While she was extremely friendly (making it difficult for me to complain to her face), I felt uneasy about the cleanliness of the place. I was not happy with my nails, but just wanted out of there. To add insult to injury, I was charged $ 50 for what I paid $ 43 for at the last salon I went to… where was the 20% discount? I call BS. Never Again! In fact, I think I’ll just take off my nails.

Went to this place a few weeks ago for a back fill and pedicure. At first I was excited to get something different on my nails. Diana got me started just fine but she must be the only nail tech in the shop because, after she filed me down left me to go finish another lady. When she came back to me I told her she was hurting me as she scraped the acrylic. She apologized but did not change her technique. She got the color tip done then, sent me to get my pedi while she finished another lady.
There were at least two other female techs and one guy. The guy did my pedi but, one of the ladies did my design. When she try to put my shoes on she scraped the design. she did not take the polish off to redo it she fixed it the lazy way.
By now I was too frustrated to fuss and I just wanted to be done. Diana finally gets back to my nails but now she is rushing to finish me! The colors on my nails were pretty but they are not shaped well and she drilled too deep!
The shop was not the cleanest and they are content to do mediocre work. I will not be back!

I hate having to come back and give a bad review after raving about how much I loved a place. But in one visit Paulene’s Nails took me from a happy return customer to never wanting to step foot in the place again.
Long story short, we made appointments for a specific time as it was a birthday and we had dinner plans. They obviously either overbooked or took too many walk in customers. The tech was rude about it and continued to insist we could get in for our appointments and done by a certain time only to do one part of a manicure then go to someone else. We were there for hours. The quality wasn’t even good and the customer service was horrible. Not the relaxing atmosphere it used to be. I believe it was under new management. We won’t be back.

This is the third time I have come here, prices have gone up a little bit but I still love it here. Everyone is friendly and I barely ever have to wait. They always make sure I am happy with my pedicure at different steps along the way, it’s great! I will continue to come here!

This was my first time in here today & I must say that it’s a very nice place and they do a wonderful job! I went with 2 of my friends, and we all had a wonderfully experience! I highly recommend this place! Super friendly staff too :)

Sign in front advertising spa pedicure for $ 14.99 so I thought «what the heck.» Very nice salon; not busy at all. But gal giving me the pedicure handed me a price list. I told her I wanted the special. All good, right? Wrong. It was an extra $ 5.00 to remove calluses which I have always thought came with a «spa» pedicure. So I paid $ 20 which really wasn’t bad.
My biggest suggestion to them is that a non-​busy employee really SHOULDN’T be sleeping in the salon. Looks pretty bad actually.

Love the level of service here and the prices aren’t highway robbery. I drive out of my way to go to this place! Love the hot wax and sugar pedi’s!

So I went to this place when I first moved over to this area and I liked it a lot. Then, for some reason, I thought I would try another shop in the area and, although it was pretty good, it was not awesome and it always seemed more expensive than it should be.
So I returned to Paulene’s today and I certainly won’t be changing again!
I got a regular fill and I needed a toe nail fixed as I had an injured toe and half the nail came off while it was healing. I also got a deluxe pedicure that was pure heaven! She spent lots of time on me and they turned out beautifully!
Their service and the fact that they care about their work and their great pricing makes this an excellent nail salon.

Amazing customer service. Love the gel polishes they have and Vicky is an excellent manicurist. Look for coupons online for the best deals.

Once again Vicky is amazing. Turned my ugly aching dogs into soft & polished feet. And my hands, rough & dry from packing & unpacking, are now soft, moisturizer and sporting a fun spunky color.
This place is clean, professional and a good deal.

I went in for a gel manicure. First of all, the website said it would be $ 19.99 and the website didn’t say it needed to be printed out. I went in and AFTER doing my nails she tells me that I had to have the coupon printed out (annoying). She also didn’t tell me till afterwards that getting French tip would be extra (but maybe I should’ve asked — French tip is usually a bit extra). But what I’m really mad about is that the nail color chipped THE SAME DAY. A fat chunk of it. Are you kidding me!?! She kept saying gel manicures last 3 – 4 weeks. Never coming here again. I’m going to go back and see if they’ll fix it. My total was $ 35 which is ridiculous a manicure that doesn’t last. Oh yeah $ 35 was supposedly with a 20% managers discount posted outside. Terrible.

I was in the area and Unilocal for a nearby nail shop. Paulene nail came up, so i drop by to get my pedi and gel nail done. Right when i walk in i was greeted, ask to sign in and got seated right away. The place was really spacious and super clean. I was offer water which was nice. Considering it was warm outside. But no worry air conditioning was on thank god!
My overall service for pedicure was topnotch. My pedi wasnt rush like some other nail salon. The lady took her time on me. She wasnt pushy, trying to add on my stuff and over charge me later.
My gel manicure was also terrific. They had a good selection of color. It could be more but they offer more than the old place i go to, so cant complain there.

My first time here I was more than satisfy. I was promptly greeted by Hannah who got me seated right away for my pedicure. They offer different type of pedicure service. I opted for the deluxe pedicure. It came with callus, sugar scrub, and paraffin. The best part was the 10 minute massage. Can you say heaven!!! I nearly fell asleep and didn’t want to leave.
Then I decided maybe I should try the pink and white nails. The guy who did my pink and white was name Kevin. He was good and quick at his job. I highly recommend to ask for him if your getting your nails done.
