Our program at LOC Christian Preschool offers «academic content» such as reading, writing and math in developmentally appropriate and meaningful ways. Research has shown that children need to «experience» their world through meaningful visual, auditory and tactile means for early brain development. Without these experiences, it is very difficult for the brain to progress, retain and connect the information for later abstractions, i.e. the concept of numbers and letters. The «academic content» offered through LOC preschool requires children to DO and experience hands-​on the meaning of such abstractions. When we see that a child is developmentally ready, we will then connect the hands-​on learning to the abstract pencil and paper tasks.

Meet the Business Owner

Miss Kelli G and Miss Tanya D.

Business Owner

Kelli Greenlee, Director of Education and Teacher, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from the University of Iowa. Since graduating in 1993, she has worked with children of all ages, including 10 years of teaching first through fourth grades and co-​directing church programs such as Children’s Ministries.

Tanya DuPont, Director of Operations and Assistant Teacher, has been organizing large scale children’s programs including Children’s Ministries, Vacation Bible School, Midweek, and Christmas pageants for our church since 1997. She started teaching with Light of Christ Preschool in 2003.
