Elite Event: Ugly Sweater Social At Yo Waffle

I live for a great ugly holiday sweater! Give me the glitter, glowing lights, decorated trees, adorable penguins, merry snowmen, elves, and more! Ugly sweaters were to behold all around while indulging in copious amounts of froyo (less calories than ice cream so help yourself to some more). Big THANK YOU to the attentive and most gracious crew from the YoWaf family. Your waffles are AMAZE-​LES!
Guests got to find out if they were on the naughty or nice list, (apparently I was the former because I hit a girl! — totally not how it happened at all, I swear!), take a selfies in the photo booth, and in the spirit of the season, do something special for someone else by writing letters to the troops serving overseas.
Thank you so much for throwing such a fun and festive event! It was a great way to end a great year!
And super special shout-​out to the all the space heaters — ’cause baby, it’s cold outside!

This event was a lovely education to a proper skill, yowaffling.
Have I ever put frozen yogurt on a delicious waffle on frozen yogurt? No.
Clearly, I’ve been topping my waffles incorrectly the entire time. And using improper waffles the entire time. This event taught me to yowaffle — which comes from the Greek word «yowafflus», which means top a delicious waffle correctly.
Other things learned at this event include how to vote for the ugliest sweater (Meagan B. tearing it up with the sticker votes!), how to properly score Unilocal swag, and proper mega Jenga playing.
It was a blast!

Best holiday event! Thank you Hailey and thank you Unilocal Phx! Yo Waffle had 10+ froyo flavors including holiday favs like candy cane and EGG NOG! Pair that with freshly baked waffles and more toppings than you can dream of! Sweet tooth heaven!
All the Unilocalers in attendance were decked out in their ugliest holiday attire. Who knew that ugly could be so cute?! My favorite was the barbie stripper sweater. I couldn’t stop laughing.
It was a nice touch to have a card-​writing station where we could send a holiday letter to the troops. Very thoughtful, and a great way to give back to the community.

My first Christmas Elite Event — Woohoo!
After this event, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to enjoy froyo again without a carb bomb waffle.

Really, those waffles were incredible. Pearl sugar — Who thought that was a good idea?! *drool* My favorite Froyo was definitely the Peppermint Stick.
Had a blast not only dressing up in the most rigotdamnediculous Ugly Sweater SKIRT + Sweater Covered in Bows + Uggs + Dude’s ASU Santa Hat, but VOTING with the FUC-​ing Unilocal Stickers was the best part! Kurdy’s Pole Dancing Barbie Sweater cannot be topped, y’all.
Naughty or Nice Christmas game (mmm $ 5 to come back and stuff my face, YES!), playing epic Jenga with Missy F. + Shannon E. and her little, froyo eating contest and farting around in the photo booth were all fun. We were also able to pen letters to the troops.
Also, finally got to meet Michael C. and Karen W. aka «Coffee Makes Me Poop» mug twin.
Overall, just a great night with some of my favorite Unilocalmigos y Unilocalmigas, old or new, it doesn’t matter, we’re all one fun AND dysfunctional family here.
Tisha and Yo Waffle Crew, thank you for being such generous hosts and opening up your doors to us crazy Unilocalers. Your product and concept is incredible; best believe I will be back with Dude in tow.

Better late than never… Hailey had done it again with a sweet Elite event this time to really close out 2015.
Froyos with hot made-​to-​order waffles and pipping hot chocolate sure satisfied with every aspect to come back. If don’t want to wait for a waffle, a warmer with already made waffles that you can grab and start loading your favorite froyos and toppings. A little bell to ring if you want it freshly made. Trust me, it was so worth the wait. The fruit toppings were so fresh. My favorite froyos were egg nog, green apple, and pistachio. Great flavors not overly sweet. I had crumbled the pearl sugar waffle and mixed with the froyos. Perfectly balanced!
There were so many great outrageous & creative ugly sweaters all around. What a fun way to judge the favorite ugly sweater by using Unilocal stickers! Naughty or Nice Christmas Game, eating contest, and best of all a Christmas theme photo booth outside. The entire event was full of laughter and fun.
Tisha and her team were fabulous! They gone the extra mile and made sure all our needs were taken care of. Thank you so much for having us! Great job to Hailey and Erica for putting this together. Looking forward to 2016! Yay! =)

This was an awesome event and we got to wear our Ugly Christmas Sweaters on top of it all. This was a wonderful sweet treat, with fun games outside, including a Frozen Yogurt eating contest!
There were lovely Heaters outside as well to keep everyone nice and warm!
The owner and staff were awesome and explained a lot about the business.
While the Yogurt was all very good, with some really cool flavors, the winner of the night???
Was the Waffles! These are by far the most amazing waffles ever. They taste like they are infused with Honey. But, it is actually sugar pearls. Awesome and delicious!
The toppings they had to choose from were fantastic including all the syrups!
I am really looking forward to going back soon.

As the current reining dutchess of Yo Waffle I was a tad worried about a possible threat to my title after this epic Ugly Christmas Sweater event. And they really know how to throw a party! (My little guy was washing froyo out of his hair until midnight!)
Our favorite flavor that night was the eggnog froyo, served over a warm waffle with a dollop of whipped cream. It was heavenly!
Sot on customer service, delicious frozen yogurt, a variety of toppings, and freshly made Belgian waffles… Clearly any sane person WOULD stay up nights worrying about incoming threats to their royal title after others got a taste of this good life. Amiright?!?
Well, I’ll have to warn anyone who has any funny ideas that I’m increasing palace security, and upping my current check-​ins over here. (Which is easy to do because I live about a quarter mile away and this is my kids favorite after dinner treat, and I currently forget to check in most times I’m there…)
There will be NO new Yo Waffle Dutchess!

What a fun holiday-​themed event!
My wife and I loved all the Ugly Sweaters, and, though the line was long, it was worth the wait.
The staff was very courteous and provided everyone with hot cocoa, waffles, frozen yogurt and lots of fun toppings. It was also very cool that this was a kid-​friendly event.

A very chill Unilocal Elite event! Thanks to Hailey, Erica and the folks at Yo Waffle for having us last night. Got some free gloves just for checking in. We came out from Scottsdale to try this place out and it was worth it. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and the owner personally greeted us and chatted with us as we waited in line. We were able to try the different flavors of froyo, gelato and sorbet as we indulged in the smell of freshly made waffles. My favorites were the Valencia orange and triple chocolate. My sweet tooth has lessened over the past year, so my food was quite decadent. I tried to balance it with fruit, which helped slightly. I do prefer savory foods, but obviously this is a froyo and waffle place, so there’s only sweet items.
I loved the atmosphere of the event: people dressed in their holiday sweaters (the joint one and the Barbie one were the best imo), the decorations and the weather were perfect. The outside had a photobooth, cup game (so creative) and even a froyo eating contest. We ended our night by playing Jenga, or tumbling towers. Overall, I enjoyed the night and it seems like this business will continue to do well.

YO Waffle! What a perfect place to hold the annual ugly sweater holiday party! How can you beat a sweet night filled with fro-​yo, fresh belgian waffles, and toppings galore?! And with a fam of awesome people?!
The lovely owner of yo waffle talked to us about how she started the business and how they carefully craft their waffles and flavors. What’s really special is that each waffle is made to order so it’s piping hot and fresh to each and every hungry customer! The fro-​yo was delicious coming in a variety of flavors like egg nog, tahitian vanilla, pistachio, birthday cake and more! The waffle was so scrumptious especially with some hot nutella. Thank you so much for hosting us tonight!
Hailey was absolutely incredible and organized a plethora of fun activities. We were all judges in voting for the best ugly sweaters and were given stickers to place on our favorites. Not only was it fun, but it was such a nice way to bond and get to know others. There were 2 rounds of a fro-​yo eating contest! The camaraderie was great, everyone was cheering on with encouragement! «My face is so numb!» shouted one contestant. «It’s like I just came from the dentist,» stated another, mouth completely numb. A winning contestant proudly displayed his fro-​yo coated beard! True dedication! There was also a naughty or nice table for little surprise swag. We got an opportunity to write thank you cards to the troops which I found to be so sweet! The photobooth complete with X-​mas props was also a nice touch to the event, memories forever captured! Thank you so much Hailey! :)
The best part of the event was meeting a ton of fun and good quality people! I can’t wait for the next event! Happy Holidays everyone!!!

I don’t make it over to this part of the town that often, but it’s always nice to find new places. My +1 lives really close by to Yo Waffle and she had never been here, and like me, she loved it so I’m sure we’ll be back.
A yogurt place that ALSO serves waffles is such a good idea, and I really liked everything I tried. Both the pistachio gelato & vanilla custard were really good! The waffle was delicious! I added some nutella to mine, but I could tell just on it’s own the waffle was really good.
The staff at Yo Waffle were EXTREMELY friendly. It was cold, and they even made me and my friend coffee right before the event ended. Thanks Hailey & the staff at Yo Waffle for a fun time!

Opened a year ago, I am surprised this place isn’t as popular as it should be!!! YoWAFFLE ever’day!
First of, I would love to thank Trisha and her whole crew for letting us Phoenix Unilocalers try Yo Waffle. Secondly, thank you to Hailey and her Unilocal Crew for putting this Ugly Sweater Event eating yummy Froyo with Belgium Waffles!
Starting off, I haven’t been to a Unilocal Event in a while because of schedule conflicts but I was glad to have made it to this one. It was great meeting lots of new joined Unilocalers and Elites and also seeing Elites and Unilocalers I have never met in person but on Unilocal.
We started off trying flavors out, the YoWaffle team made it so nice to sample their froyos while waiting for the each Belgium Waffles to be made from Scratch. Trisha, the owner, said they have tiny little Belgium beads… I believe, don’t quote me on that, but it is imported in and it really makes it extra special. They are unique in that aspect.
I really liked the Vanilla custard, the Candy Cane, the Sea Salt and the Cookies and Cream Froyos. The Belgium waffle, as stated earlier has ingredients that makes it extra decadent and crispy. It is really yummy when it is fresh because it is warm and the froyo is cold. So that contrast makes it super yummy. Along with the 40 other toppings from your classic gummy bears/​worms to your walnuts/​peanuts. They even have mochi and Nutella! Mmmm. They had lots of fresh fruits and they all looked yummy, I wanted it all.
I believe I saw on the board… a normal cup size is about $ 0.49/oz. Something like that, I didn’t pay attention… but it was somewhere in the ballpark like that.
The games outside were super fun from «being NAUGHTY or NICE» prices; I was nice. I got some nice candies. :D My sister, Kellie, was nice, too; she got candy and a handheld charger… pretty nifty if you asked me. We wrote Christmas Cards to the troops… which is always nice. There was a game of Jenga. There was a cute little PhotoBooth… which is always nice! Last but not least, there were two games of Froyo eating contest. My sister, Kellie, was in the second contest… and to quote her, «I can’t feel my face.» LOL. I believe Jackson won that round… along with the first round. Way the go, Jackson! I believe that was his first Unilocal event with his mom!
What a night. It was so much FUN! Thank you Unilocal!
Anyway, if you are craving waffles… craving froyo and in the Gilbert/​Mesa area by Higley and Elliot… should drop by!!!

Although it was quite a drive for us, we are thankful for Hailey B., Unilocal,and Yo Waffle for inviting us and throwing another awesome event! I loved seeing everyone’s ugly sweater, not to mention the interactive games. Kudos to Hailey for going above and beyond when it comes to imagination and creativity.
Thank you Yo Waffle for letting us invade your territory. Loved all the flavors, especially cookies and cream. Toppings were fresh and they practically have every topping imaginable!!! To top it off, the waffle was perfectly cooked and right out of the oven!
I enjoyed myself and was happy to meet some new faces. Can’t wait for 2016! Cheers!

Yo waffle, yo way! What a fun event hosted by Hailey! We got to try a multitude of flavors of frozen yogurt including pistachio, strawberry, candy cane, and Valencia orange. My favorite was the combination of orange and vanilla. It was like eating a frozen yogurt creamsicle.
The waffle was great as well, with a lovely balance of crisp and chewy textures. The toppings were plentiful with various syrups to choose from as well.
I was rockin’ a little holiday number several sizes too big for me consisting of two drunk looking sheepdogs courtesy of the local Goodwill, and enjoyed seeing everyone else’s ode to the holidays in sweater form. I also got to meet my coffee mug buddy Meagan B.
The staff here were all wonderful and it was a great way to be introduced to this wonderful business. Thanks for a lovely evening!

Yo it’s all about the waffle. It is one of the nicest froyo places in the valley, but I like the «plain» waffle s the best.
Hailey and the folks at Yo Waffle were organized, friendly and fun. It was a great Christmas (Holiday) season event! I was happy to meet a few of the Unilocal’ers I follow. Almost everyone was in the spirit of the season.

What a smart way to choose a winning sweater. Everyone was given 4 Unilocal voting stickers, which you were to apply to your favorite sweaters, and congrats to Kurdy for killing it, 2 years in a row.
The yogurt flavors were delightful. A great mixture of tart and smooth. Orange and Vanilla went great together as a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ bar.
The waffle was substantial and filling, made with pearl (nib) sugar, and there were a bevy of appetizing toppings, including cookie butter!
Let’s show this location some love! Dont forget to come back as a customer!

Yo Yo Yo… what a great party @ Yo Waffle! As soon as you walk in it smells so good. They have a great variety of yogurts birthday cake, salty carmel, California tart just to name a few. We got to sample as much as we wanted. Score! The waffle was delicious and it was so much fun creating a fun and delicious dessert. Great selection of toppings too, plenty of fruit option… which I really like.
Hailey and crew did a fabulous job with all the Unilocal activities, photo booth, contests & giving us the opportunity to write letters to our servicemen & women. Thank you Yo Waffle for hosting, we will be back.

The night was filled with waffles, yogurt, photo booths, swag, eating contests, ugly sweaters and smiles. Seriously thank you Hailey for putting on this amazing event and Yo Waffle for accommodating all of us Unilocalers!
It was great seeing everyone in the holiday spirit and even the wait in line was fun. We all checked out each others sweaters, stuck stickers on each other and taste tested the whole line of yogurts. By the time we made it to the front, I struggled to limit my toppings so I wouldn’t explode. Everything looked so good from the crushed butterfingers to the gooey caramel sauce.
The waffles tasted amazing and the company was even better. We loved the photo booth and the photographers were so sweet! Seeing all the contests was a good laugh and overall a great night. Thanks again for such a great event and can’t wait to see everyone again!

Thank you Hailey, Unilocal,& Yo Waffle for spreading all the holiday cheer! I absolutely love the Holidays so I was really excited to see this Ugly Sweater event come up … and I was even more excited to see that it was going to be held at a frozen yogurt place that has waffles.
This event was filled with contests, my favorite being the fro yo eating, and cute activities like the Naughty & Nice wall, as well as a photo booth.
The waffle was delicious as was the fro yo! They had holiday flavors like candy cane & egg nog. The staff was super friendly & helpful in getting people drinks, sample cups, etc.

What a way to end the Elite Unilocal year. I had so much fun at this event! Hailey is an awesome & sweet host. The sweet swag, the festive music, hilarious shenanigans in the photo booth, delicious waffles, and fabulous Unilocal friends made this an amazing night.
