We’ve been to Gettysburg Eddies several times for lunch over the years. Oddly, we’ve always been seated in the same booth! The staff is great — I get the feeling that it’s a family operation. The service is always great, the food is wonderful. If you are visiting G-Burg, you owe it to yourself to stop in. Warning — we’ve only been there in the cold weather months, so I can’t imagine how crazy this place must be in the summer. Parking is a challenge.

I live in PA, however not in Gettysburg. We come to Gettysburg probably 6 times a year; sometimes more. We’ve just discovered Gettysburg Eddie’s this year. We’ve been 3 times in the past few months. It seems like a lot of locals come here. Everyone is very friendly and the service is really good. The last time we were there the bar area was super crowded because a Toys for Tots bar crawl was starting there. The servers were very overwhelmed but they worked their butts off and worked well as a team and everything was handled perfectly. The food is pretty good. My husband has had the quesadillas which he really enjoyed and he had a philly cheese steak sandwich the last time. He said it was really good and the meat was stuffed into the french bread. I’ve had the seafood chowder(not sure what it’s called) both times and I really like it. The first time I ordered a cup of it and the second time I upgraded to a bowl. I had chicken tenders last time. The fries were good and their homemade honey mustard sauce was really good. I believe the chicken was frozen, pressed chicken that they just fried up. It wasn’t bad but not spectacular either. We feel really comfortable there and have enjoyed each meal. The prices are very fair and the drinks are really good as well.

The restaurant I will ALWAYS recommend and that has NEVER disappointed. It’s unassuming profile delivers a surprising height of quality and variety. The atmosphere is very pleasant, warm, friendly and the food is consistently above par. I treat myself to the moderately priced crab and shrimp bisque every time I visit! And yes shell out the extra for a shot of sherry on top WORTHIT! As I sit and enjoy my feast dujour I see plates being delivered to other patrons with food I swear I’ll order the next time. You’ll thank me:)

This is a great place to go if you’re looking for good food and good drinks. I have been here a few times with family when they visit from out of town, and with friends after shows at a local theatre. Everyone seems to love this place. The drink menu is outstanding. They have shots/shooters, frozen drinks, margaritas, martinis, potent cocktails, classic cocktails, and your usual beer and wine. The Girl Scout Cookie, Orange Creamsicle, and Long Beach Tea are all excellent. Foodwise, my go to is the Southwest Salad. It comes with blackened chicken, black beans, corn, tomatoes, homemade tortilla strips, etc. The veggies are always fresh, and the dressing(honey-lime vinaigrette, I think?) is delicious. GE’s is located on Steinwehr Ave. in a pretty busy area of Gettysburg. It’s a great place to check out of you’re looking for a drink or a bite before or after one of those famous ghost tours. :)

Came here a few weeks ago for a friends birthday. I’ve been hearing good things so I was excited to try it out. I started off ordering a mixed drink called the girl scout cookie. It tasted exactly like a thin mint. They had a huge selection of mixed drinks. For my entrée I ordered the spinach salad. It had everything I usually put in my salad(red egg, mushroom, bacon, olives, and croutons) so it was perfect, My other two friends both got salads as well. One ordered southwest salad and the other got the sizzling salad, which came with fries ion top. The prices are reasonable and the staff were very friendly. They even brought out a huge piece of warm gingerbread with a candle in it for the birthday boy. Parking can be a hastle. It’s mostly street parking with meters unless you walk a few blocks and can find a spot in a lot.

GEs is a great place to catch reasonably priced quality American food. Extensive menu with great salads, good burgers, sandwiches galore and a large variety of Beers! Service was excellent and the food was prepared to order… including needed subs for diet restricted eaters. Seems more of a local joint vs a tourist trap… worth the walk. Parking located behind the resturant.

After a horrible morning, Eddie ’ was just the ticket to get us back on track again. I had the nachos grande’, an appetizer I could barely finish as a meal. My wife had the fried haddock sandwich with a side salad. Eddie ’ home made ranch dressing was terrific! The drinks were low priced, too! Highly recommended!

We were recommended Eddie as a place to go while we waited for a ghost tour. What a dreadful meal my husband had… do not I repeat do not order the chicken Parmesan, burnt chicken, watery tasteless tomato sauce and worst of all the chicken was not breaded, resulting in rubbery dry chicken. Our waitress was brilliant and the star is for her, but we couldn’t help leaving a note to suggest that the chef look up a recipe for the chicken Parmesan.

It’s an iconic restaurant with great history. I love walking down here, sitting at the bar, talking with the staff and other patrons and having a great time. Lunch or dinner you can’t lose. Very single person friendly.

Named after local baseball Hall of Famer, Eddie Plank, it’s a baseball oriented sports bar. As such the menu consists of a lot undescriptive but catch named foods like The Grand Slammer, Home Run Sandwich, Double Play, Triple Play, Extra Bases and so forth, basically bar foods which I tend to avoid, but here, I found them to actually be rather good. I start off with their Caesar Salad which consisted of a good crispy romaine, a creamy Caesar dressing, topped with a parmesan cheese and croutons. Then, went for their Philly Cheese Steak which though not prepared in keeping with the traditional style of a Philly Cheese as one might find at such Philadelphia cheesesteaks landmarks of Gino’s or Pat’s, as the bread was more hoagie like and the cheese, not a mixed in whiz but American melted on top. However, very good in flavor. Both the dining area and bar area have a much better atmosphere than do most sport bars with the dining be set off and separate from the bar.

Food was fair, service at first was slow and waiter had an attitude. He apologized for our long wait before he came to our table, we had to yank the specials out of him that we overheard another waitress telling someone then he forgot our wing order. He did comp the wings which was nice. Probably wouldn’t come back again because the food was average.

This was our first stop after arriving in Gettysburg. Friendly, fast service. Very clean and inviting restaurant. My wife and I shared the delicious crab dip, which is served in an enormous bread bowl. My roast beef sandwich seemed to be inspired by beef on weck as it was served with horseradish and au jus. It was topped with melted Swiss cheese as well, very good sandwich. I really enjoyed the side of creamy cole slaw as well. As a bonus, this place was located within walking distance of our hotel. We were able to enjoy some drinks without worrying about driving. Good beer selection too.

I rocked back and forth between giving Gettysburg Eddie’s 3 or 4 stars but finallly decided on 4. The place was clean and inviting. There is baseball memorabilia all over and it gives you a very comfortable feel. I was promptly seated and even though it was rather busy my order was taken and filled really good time. That alone impressed me. THEBRITISHBEEFGRIDNER is pretty much the best beef sandwich I’ve ever tasted. I was beyond impressed. It was good… no…it was amazing!!! You MUST eat it! I also had a crab cake which wasn’t bad at all. I had a bacon cheese burger and I think it was over cooked and the bacon was someplace between crunchy and gooey… The service was friendly, Twenty something in yoga pants, smiles and nice greetings. This is a nice small comfortable place. You won’t be disappointed.

Good food, large portions, reasonable prices. Couple these with friendly staff, and I can easily recommend it. The down side is parking. It can be tough to find a spot in downtown Gettysburg.

I was in town for day on Easter and was bothered to discover that pretty much every place was closed. Sure it’s the off season but you’d think that for a tourist town that more places would be opened. I have been to Gettysburg a few times and had never been to his place before and would gladly go again. It was a little pricey but the food was good. When I’m there again I will gladly go again.

Because it was our first trip, I really wanted to give this establishment the benefit of the doubt. So I called same day, in the evening, and spoke with a caring individual to whom I shared my husband and my gastronomical tale of woe. She took my name and phone number and assured me that the manager would give me a call either later that evening or next day. True to her word, I received a call the following day from the manager and we chatted a little bit about what had happened, how we were feeling(MUCH better), and she asked me to keep in touch if I felt any other issues arose from our visit. She thanked me for letting her know of the issues, and addressed the kitchen staff of the issue. She also asked for the opportunity to «make it right» on our next visit and requested that we ask specifically for her or her other manager. That’s some pretty good customer service. I am impressed.

Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Just ordered some small side salads and waffle fries but fairly pleased. Salads weren’t fancy, but average for a pub/bar. Waffle fries were very tasty!

Overview: A great restaurant with a wide variety of options, priced decently. Food: I have tried nearly everything on the menu, with the exception of the pasta dishes. Everything I have had has been very good and with good-sized portions. However, I find the French Onion Soup to be on the salty side. Their mixed drinks are also quite potent. Recommend: Without a doubt, my favorite thing on the menu is the Southwest Salad. Absolutely delicious. Their wings are also very good and their sandwiches are all very hearty. Atmosphere: It can get crowded on the weekends and evenings, but generally a happy, friendly atmosphere. I particularly like the baseball theme. Service: I have always had very good service, with friendly waitresses and bar staff.
