We are a shot-​gun only sports center that offers skeet, trap, 5-​stand and sporting clays. We have a complete Beretta pro shop for all your shooting needs, Fiocchi and Rio ammunition, new and used gun sales, and rentals. We also offer shooting instruction by appointment. Memberships are available, and we are open to the public as well.

History

Established in 2000.

Salem Trap and Skeet has been in this location since 1972, and, in 2001 Mitchell’s Clay Target sports took over operations of the club. Prior to 1972, the club was located in Salem on Mission Street, opposite McNary Airfield. As its name indicates, it was primarily a trap and skeet club and was started in the early 1900s.

Sporting Clays was introduced to the club by Dan Mitchell in 2001 and the sport has been thriving ever since. Also introduced was 5-​stand. Mitchell’s provides a covered and heated 5-​stand, so getting its name because it is comprised of five stands that each offer menus with three different presentations of targets. 5-​stand offers a place for shooters to get out of the weather and still enjoy their sport.

In 2006, Stephen Parks became a partner at Mitchell’s and since has purchased the business, and along with his wife Suzanne, continues to operate Mitchell’s Clay Target Sports Center.
