Went here to get a key cut. Brought my own key, willing to pay for the service.
After waiting almost 10 minutes for someone to come to the key cutting desk a guy named Amos shows up, paying little attention to me and paying a lot of attention to his smart phone. I asked to please have a key cut. He looks up from his phone and says «we don’t cut outside keys.». Really?
I told him I was intending to pay for the cutting and again he said «we don’t cut outside keys.»
I asked to speak to a manager and then he gets on his phone, talks to someone and then hands his phone to me to speak to whoever is on the other end, …which was nobody. I asked him again to get a manager and his only reply was «you need to take it to a locksmith».
Horrible customers service!!! If you happen to go to this Home Depot and see Amos, tell him what a pile of crap he is!

To be honest I wasn’t expecting the service I received since it is a huge chain however when I walked in I was greeted and as I was walking around looking for a screen door handle and a gentlemen (I wish I got his name) stopped what he was doing and walked me all the way across the store right to what I was looking for. He even helped me pick it out. He didn’t point or tell me the Isle, he was happy to help me and that for me is awesome service.

I recently returned a leaking water heater that was under warranty by the manufacturer for a replacement. Apparently, the manufacturer has changed their policy from replacement to offering a pro rated amount for the life left in the water heater which would have given me a $ 60 credit rather than a new warranty.
One of the managers Sylvia, stepped in and helped get things straightened out. She was able to cut through the red tape and get me the new water heater my warranty said I was entitled too.

If you love seeing attack dogs snarl, growl & bark as you shop for your next home diy project you’ll love this store. An added benefit: have one of the dogs follow you in the aisle ending up next in line to checkout. Should have Unilocaled reviews on pepper spray vs cattle prods as preferred home Depot accompaniment.

This store is one of the reason why people choose online retailers like Amazon rather than coming into a Home Depot that is understaffed or has staff that is too lazy to assist customers.

I went here today to get pricing for flooring and saw a great deal on a bathroom vanity. When I attempted to get assistance on lifting this 50+ lbs package it took 30 minutes and 4 staff members until someone finally helped. The quality of service at this location always leaves something to be desired. I’ve had much better experiences at the Rockville location.

I have purchased appliances here three times, and each time everything went well. I checked the ratings of products on a consumer website; then I selected the appliances; then I checked out the items on the manufacturers’ websites to make sure I got the accurate specifications; then I rechecked my space and dimensions of the current appliances; then I checked Home Depot’s website for the appliances I wanted to buy to see if HD sells them; then I printed info from HD website; then I went into HD to actually see similar models and compare my measurements; then I ordered the appliances. Ordering and delivery went well. The store doesn’t stock anywhere near the number of model numbers available; so, on-​line selection is a good idea.
Window shades: I never in a million years thought that I could install them myself, but I did, and I did a great job, to my surprise. It’s much easier than I thought. I watched on-​line videos and checked various other sites for instruction tips.
Home Depot has a lot of stuff that helps me attempt tasks that I would have never attempted several years ago, because I never thought I could do them. The internet supplies the instructions, and Home Depot provides a lot of items to help perform those tasks.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I think the store manager has short man syndrome. The only good thing is he was such a prick that I went to Lowes and saved almost 80 bucks on paint. Lowes even has some of the colors from Home Depot in their computer.

I went in on busy Sunday afternoon to return a few items — unopened — unused. Very nice customer service, I was issued store credit. I went through store picked up new items and went to pay — discovered I dropped my new card with credit applied. I went back to customer service explained my dumb move of losing card. Customer service cancelled my recently issued store credit, then issued new card. I caused the problem and Home Depot fixed my problem. Thank you.

We went here to purchase an outdoor dining set on 5÷21÷2015. After going in the previous night, we had an idea of what set we wanted. Let me start by saying that there were two employees standing at a table in the outdoor section. They were heavily engaged in a personal conversation with another person who did not work there (but clearly knew the woman at the table. more on that in a second). We walked up to them and both Home Depot employees ignored us. I was pretty frustrated as we were ready to spend close to $ 1000 at their store. After walking around for about 5 minutes (and back passed the employees at the table. we witnessed the woman employee kiss the man they were having their super important conversation with. very unprofessional) we were able to find an employee to assist us with the purchase, her name was Flower and she is the only reason this review is as high as it is. Flower was extremely friendly and helpful with locating the table and getting someone to get it off of the very top shelf. She even assisted us with the checkout. All in all, we were ready to walk out. If Flower wasn’t so helpful, this store would have lost our business (we are new home owners so we have been making multiple weekly trips to local home improvement stores). If you are going in with a sole purpose, look for Flower! She will make sure you have a great shopping experience.

They have a lot of stuff but the times when I want more specialist stuff e.g. a punch set and a new wireless receiver for a ceiling fan, they have been found wanting. Still, the customer service is decent when we have needed them. It can be difficult to find things as the store is so big, my advice is check the store plan and website online beforehand to check which aisle things are in. As a new home owner this store is invaluable but just wish they catered to more specialist stuff.

What can I say, as a home owner all things needed comes and to your local Home Depot.
For the most part customer service is par. Never made any huge purchases from them, it’s cool that they offer 10% for military discount which covers the state tax.
Hard to say if the store is clean. All looks the same to me. I try to be familiar with my store so I don’t ask for assistance.
I guess when I do retire, I could always walk around with a orange bib on and assist others

It is Home Depot and is like most of the big box retailers. I thought this one is particularly well staffed and everyone we encountered was efficiently able to answer our questions. It was well stocked and staffed.

Bought shades tried to find someone to cut them but could not. Size was close so took them home to see if they would fit. The did not. Took them back the next day to get them cut. Walk up to the only person in the area, she was on the phone I whispered do you cut blinds she gestured to give he a minute. Ok. After several minutes she was still on the phone I asked her if she was the only one in the department she did not answer I asked her again at this point she shook her finger at me and shushed me.
I agsin asked her if anyone could help. She the coverd the phone snd said the perdon on the phone is going to be mad at her. Well now I mad too you ask me to wait then you shush, shake your finger at me a can not get md some help after I have tried to buy something in your store for two days.

Mark in the electrical department has been very helpful on two occasions during which I needed assistance. His recommendations are based on functionality rather than price. He is also very polite. Thank you, Home Depot for hiring him.

Scheduled a home depot installation. First, they sold me on bull, then the guy who did the blue printing told me about the bull. Then the installer showed up late everyday and did not meet the schedule. Real Professional!
I was told that the installers would do everything including installing the sink, but wouldnt turn on the water, then i was told they would just set the sink in and everything else was up to me. I want to re-​iterate the word «they» as I told there would be at least two installers. This was another line of bull from Home Depot.
Then I was told 2 to 3 days, but it turned out to be 4. I asked on day 2 how many more days and was told only 1, but of course that was a lie by the contractor Home Depot bought.
If you want to be lied to and deceived then work with the Home Depot, otherwise use a honest contractor who doesn’t lie through their teeth.
Oh, and then I bought a microwave to be installed. Which by the way the installers found a way to avoid installation due to a height requirement. Another thing the a-​holes at Home Depot forgot to mention.

I scheduled a pick up under my employee. It was a 9.98 $ order. My employee couldn’t pick it up and we were in a rush and NEEDED the set. I came in to pick it up and they asked me for ID. I showed them my form of payment, my order confirmation, my email, text, and the original online order email. I just wanted the HDX screwdriver set. They «couldn’t» fulfill the order which is understandable so to save time i asked if I could repurchase the one that I prepaid for already and I’ll cancel the online order later. They said no… had to walk down 8 aisles and hunt down the item they had ready for me to pick up.

Holy crap. This HD is horrendous. The customer service is absolutely terrible – when you can actually find someone, that is. Most of the employees don’t speak much English nor do they have any clue about what it is that they sell. I don’t expect you to necessarily be an expert, but if you’re walking the floor you better have an understanding of what the store sells.
I had to come in 3 different times to get an estimate for counter tops. I had two different employees in the Kitchen design department tell me that I didn’t need an appointment. I came in on Saturday and they told me they were all booked up. That’s when I was told for the second time that I didn’t need an appointment if I came during the week. I showed up on a Tuesday and ran into one woman who spent about 20 minutes trying to page someone in the K&B area. When she couldn’t get ahold of anyone, she tried both paging for and calling for the MOD. No answer. I finally went to the front of the store and got the girl at the CS desk to call the MOD over. She eventually wrote up a quote, but it took forever. She didn’t know what she was doing with the program and my quote was several hundred dollars off.
All in all, the employees who work here are usually pleasant, but they’re anything but knowledgeable. We purchased laminate counter tops about 4 weeks ago. They told me (and I clarified more than once!) that it would take 2 weeks for them to come in.
«From order to delivery?»
«Just 2 weeks.»
«You’re sure? 2 weeks from today, they’ll be ready to deliver?»
«Yup»
Let me just say: NOPE. Still waiting. Today I actually called Precision (they’re who manufacture and deliver the counter tops) and the woman explained to me that it takes 2 weeks for them to get the materials. It sounds like this is a common complaint… she even told me that they explain this to HD on a daily basis, but there still seems to be lots of confusion on HD’s end.
The only reason they’re getting two stars is because in general the selection is adequate and the prices are lower than the competition. I just suggest you know exactly what you’re looking for when you go in.

Rented a Carpet Cleaner. If they had provided better customer service when I picked it up I would rate this 5 stars.
I had to wait close to 10 minutes to pick it up even though one customer service person sat there in case someone with an online order showed up. The other person was busy trying to help one customer, at the same time around 6 or more employees were hanging around then they all took return carts out. Finally one of them asked if they could help so they filled out everything they were capable of so the one customer service person that was able to help me (again the other one did not have any online orders so she walked away at this point) could complete the rental transaction
The machine worked great!

Whenever my wife wants to hit up Target or TJ Maxx I wander over here.
Even if I don’t have a project to do I can keep myself entertained like a kid in candy shop.
Its a massive tool and supplies warehouse so yes, it is big, has lots of stuff and its not always easy to find things.
I’ve never had problems finding a staff member to help me out.
One tip, if you are doing most any home improvement project and are unsure, go see the guys at the paint counter. Some of them are retired contractors and really know their stuff. Talking to them has saved me hours of aggravation and lots of money. Oh, and if you need joint compound to fix drywall don’t get it in the paint section, go over to building supplies. For whatever reason its cheaper over there and comes in a larger tub.
