History

Established in 1986.

Originally founded as Paul A. Nickle in 1986, Nickle Electrical Companies was purchased by Steve and Debbie Dignan in 1990, who renamed it in 2008. The company has continued growing since then, becoming the largest Merit Shop electrical company in Delaware.

Continually expanding its range and scope of work, Nickle has worked on Green Energy Initiatives, School renovations, Medical Offices, Hospitals, Historical Renovations, while maintaining a strong service department that can handle home service work to small commercial jobs.

Business Owner

Steve’s career in the electrical field began over 30 years ago when he became an apprentice at C. Paul Nickle. He soon became a Project Manager and ultimately purchased Paul A. Nickle, Inc. in 1991. Steve has since led and developed the company into a multi-​million dollar contractor. In 2008, Nickle Electrical Companies was named one of the fastest growing companies in the country on the Inc. 5000 list with a 3-​year growth of 136%. Over the past 4 years, the company has continued to expand its resources, adding prefabrication, design engineering and business information modeling to further support its continued growth.

Under Steve’s leadership, Nickle has become one of the most respected, reputable electrical contractors in the tri-​state area. His commitment to providing the highest quality work with exceptional service and value to the customer is the key behind the success of Nickle. Steve’s passion for the company, its employees and its customers has never wavered.
