The Mission of Grace Episcopal Church

God’s Vision for Us:

We are sent in response to Jesus’ Great Commission to invite all of God’s people to know and worship Christ, to nurture them through study and fellowship, and to send them out to serve others in His name.

Grace desires to be know in Georgetown as a Christian community of faith that lives out their lives as the manifested presence of the Kingdom of God in their midst.

History

Established in 1955.

Grace Church in its original location on the west side of Main just south of 10th Street. The cornerstone was laid on November 16, 1881. It was moved to University Ave, the current location of Grace Episcopal, in 1955.

Meet the Manager

Fr Trey G.

Manager

Fr. Trey Garland was called to Grace as rector at the end of 2012. As a native Texan who grew up in Houston attending an Episcopal parochial school, Fr. Trey earned his BA (Religion) in 1997 from Alma College in Michigan.

In 2002, he graduated with his MDiv from Sewanee and was ordained deacon, and subsequently ordained to the priesthood in 2003.

After serving as assistant at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Tomball, TX for two years, Fr. Trey left the United States to begin PhD studies in liturgical theology at the University of Durham, in the United Kingdom.

In 2006, Fr. Trey moved back to the U.S. to complete his PhD research and served as the assistant to the Rev’d Ann Normand at Trinity Episcopal Church in Marble Falls, TX.
