Caliber Moving Company

I used Caliber’s moving service on 8÷27÷15 to move some furniture. The movers were on time. There was a problem, which is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. The owner, Tony, made things right. It was nice to be able to email Tony directly to straighten things out. The price was reasonable, too.

So this guy that I dated used this moving company to move his stuff from a storage unit to his new place when he got back from deployment.
We got to the Fort Hood area about an hour early so, we decided to hang around town and get a coffee. They called his cell phone and said they would be about an hour late meeting us at the storage unit. We figured ok well we will go do some shopping in the meantime. Then they never called and we were waiting at the storage unit so, he called and nobody answered. About an hour later they finally called and said it would be another hour. We rolled our eyes and decided to take a nap in the car at the storage unit while we waited.
They finally showed up 4 hours after we were scheduled to meet them. This is highly inconvenient for someone who is traveling to meet them and me who had to be at work! By the time they loaded up which took forever, we got back to Austin an hour before I had to go into work.
I went home and changed and stopped back to see how everything was going and they had only moved one or two things off the truck and into the apartment in the 40 minutes that I was gone.
They were late, slow, out of shape and even broke a couple of items. He was really mad and unhappy that he had to pay the full rate after all of the nonsense but, was just happy it was over and finally done. I wouldn’t recommend using them if you want someone to be on time and not break your stuff!

Is there a way to give this company half a star? They don’t even deserve that. The men that moved my moms furniture were not only saying inappropriate sexual things to me and my aunt like, «why didn’t you sleep with me last night?» And «dang baby your momma didn’t tell me she had a daughter like you.» but they were also down right rude all together. Let’s not mention the SEVERAL things they broke. Cracked the washer, DROPPED the dryer in the drive way trying to carry it by himself, one of my mothers favorite paintings, and the list goes ON AND ON. When we tried to call and fix the issues the boss turns around saying its OUR fault. These issues keep happening, seems like a reoccurring issue, huh boss? Poor excuse for a business. Would never use them again and I advise you not to either.

Do I HAVE to give them a star? A company who refuses to take accountability when they destroy your property and then refuses to give you fair restitution?
DO NOT use this company.

BS. Two hours late then beat my furniture up and lied about it. Never again.

Completely unprofessional. I had an appointment for this morning. It was raining and thundering pretty badly, so they called and said that we would move it out to later in the day. I understood this, completely and was actually happy that my stuff would make it to my new place dry.
I get a call and they completely canceled and tried to change my moving day. WHAT? Why? Because it rained earlier in the day. That’s right – earlier in the day. I have to be out of my house TOMORROW.
I had to scramble and try to find another mover last minute. None of the other companies I called had any problem with the fact that it had rained this morning. The four of the other moving companies that I called suggested that Caliber probably has illegal folks working for them, which is why he was so concerned about them
Tony is a really nice guy on the phone, but they need to reevaluate their work ethics and business practices. A wet staircase in an apartment complex should not stop a professional mover from doing their job.

I might use caliber moving co. again, depending on if we could find better pricing. It seemed, after researching more, we may have been able to get our move for $ 150 – 200 cheaper. However, the men who moved us were GREAT! There were three men and they were personable, efficient and extremely helpful! In a bind, I would use again in a heartbeat.
