Appliance Express

Great experience today. Our dishwasher was only a year old and the motor stopped working. Gerry from Appliance Express diagnosed the problem quickly and resolved the issue. Gerry was extremely knowledgable and very personable.

I’m assuming most of the positive reviews are based on people who purchased extended warranties or have home warranties. I do not have one. Instead, I decided to call the original manufacturer, Maytag, since my fridge was only 2 years old. Maytag quoted me a flat fee for the repair and guaranteed that Maytag would cover any parts and labor. This agreement with Maytag, however, never made it to Appliance Express, the authorized Maytag repair shop. Appliance Express has a different pricing scheme, which was not made clear to me when I confirmed my scheduled appointment with them.
When the tech was on site, he was less than friendly when explaining the pricing scheme over the phone, and rudely hung up on me. When I called the office after this unpleasant exchange, there was still plenty of confusion between what was promised by Maytag, and what Appliance Express was actually going to do during the flat fee service call. And there was still plenty of difficulty in explaining what was covered and how much actual repair would cost.
Simply one of the most frustrating, horrible experiences I have had with any service or repair company in the area. I own a few rental properties in Austin, and I have had more than excellent service in the past through various locally owned businesses. This was not one of them.

Appliance Express came through again with flying colors! Fourth time in a year… dealing with the same issue on my less than 2 yr old new refrig! I requested the same tech that I had the last time… Joel…since he was familiar with my problem. And he was the one who came out! So they were true to their word.
He talked with a Kitchen Aid technician and they agreed… it was NOT repairable. Joel was honest and very knowledgable with this refrigerator problem. Thank you.
On to a new refrigerator now (which Joel gave me some pointers to consider)

Had a warranty issue with a newly purchased range, it would not light. So warranty company sent out Appliance Express. Joseph, checked the range out and found that the range was not getting gas. He spent the time to explain a lot of things we needed to know about the proper use of the range and other appliances. If you need an appliance repaired, call these guys!!!

I’ve got to give a rave review for Brion G (Brian G?) at Appliance Express. Professional, courteous and extremely helpful! We had a problem with our oven and as the mother of a young child I was very apprehensive about the safety of a broken gas stove. He arrived on time, give us a wonderful explanation & fixed our oven in record time. He even stayed while the unit cooled down to make sure the work was done completely. Because of this great experience I can, and will, use appliance express again & I will certainly ask for Brian (Brion?) G when I do. Thanks!

I highly recommend Appliance Express. The knowledge of the service folks was amazing. I was lucky enough to have Joseph service my refrig and dishwasher. At a later time John B was in my home to replace a part. They know their stuff, were courteous, explained all the information and were on time — can’t ask for more than that. I will use them again, for sure.

I used this firm for warranty work on a new refrigerator purchased in August 2015. It took three separate visits for this firm to get my refrigerator running. The reasons given each time was that the part that was needed to complete the repair was not on the truck but was at their local shop. I was told that although one of the parts needed was about eight inches in length, the servicemen were not allowed to carry them on the truck even though the odds of having to replace the part were high, and in the case of repairing my unit almost at 100% given the symptoms I had described to the manufacturer.
Since they had to go back to the shop to get parts on the first and second visit, I was without the use of my unit for a total of 11 days. I had two separate repairmen who came to do the work. Joseph came the first two times, and he was very nice, polite, and cordial. He is the ultimate in customer service! Luis came for the final visit, and he was super as well. He was also most interested in resolving my now, almost two week old problem. My issue is with the shop not allowing enough parts on the vans/​trucks to repair/​replace broken parts. There is no way that I should have had to wait through three visits over an eleven day period to have this problem resolved.

Cannot say enough great stuff about John B. and Wesley from Appliance Express. We bought a brand new (pretty expensive) Whirlpool French Door Refrigerator from Home Depot. The installers brought it in and ran out as fast as they could. Home Depot wasn’t much help as they didn’t seem to care once it was paid for.
Eventually contacted Whirlpool who sent these two gentleman. The initial problem was that when you closed the door with the sealing strip on it, the other door popped open somewhat and didn’t always close.
Turns out that it was simply (for them) a matter of adjusting the front leg so that the unit tilted back slightly and so that the doors were properly aligned. This is something that the «installers» (although they were supposed to install it, they just delivered it) should have done.
Additionally they explained to me that the «humidity control» turned on a tiny heater in the door sealing strip, which would prevent moisture from building up.
Unfortunately, moisture had built up a bit and I called again because the freezer light stopped working. When John came in, he just flicked the switch and that took care of the problem (which was probably caused by a tiny piece of ice that built up before I turned on the «humidity control»).
Intelligent, friendly and prompt service is a rare thing these days. I’ll be using Appliance Express going forward for any appliance repairs.

Appliance Express has serviced many of my appliances over the past few years. They have done great work and have been very friendly. Jerry worked on my dishwasher this morning and was excellent. He went above and beyond with his work, and was very knowledgeable and willing to help in any way he could. He was by far the best technician I have ever worked with, thank you very much.

I scheduled a warranty appointment with Whirlpool and this is the company they use. I am usually a bit leary of warranty work, just i general. Joseph showed up on time and even called before. I did NOT get a confirmation from their robo caller however. Which is okay I suppose. Diagnosed the issue, ordered parts and two days later another tech came and installed them. I believe his name was Joe. Both were professional and Joseph specifically shared some tips for appliances, while Joe gave tips for the dishwasher itself. These guys know what they’re doing and anytime I now need appliance work I know who to get with.

After finding a blown fuse link, was informed of $ 157 fee. They told me $ 80, discounted from $ 99, service call plus $ 15 part. They added $ 50 per tech for Troubleshooting Fee. If they would have been honest and upfront in the beginning, I would not have accepted their services. Will tell all my friends in Georgetown area that this company holds back fees therefore I feel they are dishonest.

We needed extensive repairs to our refrigerator and Appliance Express sent Luis M. out to help. Due to the complexity and odd aspect of the repair issue, Luis had to work on the fridge three times, and on each occasion he was thoughtful («Do want me to remove my shoes before I come inside?») and professional («This is what is wrong, and I need to order parts. They will cost. .») When Luis told me a third visit would be needed, I was so pleased with his work that I asked him to please return rather than have a different (new) tech complete the repairs.
In addition to being provided with a three-​hour appointment window the day before the appointment, I also received a phone call about 30 minutes before Luis arrived at my home.
Appliance Express did a nice job, and I won’t hesitate to call them again in the future.

I created this account to say thanks to JOSEPH for such wonderful service. A true customer-​service wizard, who lives by the maxim that it is better to teach one how to fish than to give one a fish.

I had Joseph come out and take a look at my brand new KitchenAid stove, as it wasn’t getting hot enough. Sure enough it was user error. But in addition to helping me with that, he helped me get it better leveled, and ordered me a new top grate since the original one was slightly bent. He was fast, friendly, and made the appointment perfectly on time. Thanks!

This company is so easy to work with that I actually felt pampered. First, the office personnel is extremely polite and accommodating. Second, the automated system contacts you prior to your appointment to confirm it. On the day of your appointment, the system contacts you to advise you that your repair person is just wrapping up his previous job and will be at your house soon.
And thirdly, when repairman, Luis Morales, showed up, I was stunned that he knew my refrigerator’s issue within one minute. Amazing! It was better than going to see a doctor with a health concern. You spend time in the waiting room and then the nurse weighs you, takes your temperature, blood pressure, and gathers all the symptoms. Next, you see the doctor who might not even get your issue right. You miss half a day of work by then!
In the past, other service folks have taken things apart and spent an hour mulling over an issue, not always solving the problem. I’ve seen little pieces of metal, screws and wiring all over the floor. Not anymore! Luis can identify your refrigerator, oven, washer, dryer or dishwasher’s illness almost intuitively. I gathered that he has been doing his job for many years.
Appliance Express performs warranty work for numerous manufacturers and businesses, including Lowes, plus any type of appliance repair, warranty or not. I highly recommend this fine company.

As a first-​time homeowner, I have started to put together my go-​to list of specialists, and I am so glad that I have finally found my «appliance guy». Joseph with Appliance Express is a professional, a knowledgeable expert, and highly educational when it comes to things I can do to prolong the life of my appliances. I had him out for a stoppage on my Whirlpool dishwasher. He not only fixed it promptly, he provided me with great information about how to keep it running even better than before.
When inevitably one of my other appliances has an issue, I’m so glad Joseph’s and Appliance Express’ phone number is now saved in my phone. Bravo to spectacular customer service and high quality repairs!

Joseph came out to look at my Whirlpool washing machine today and it was a great service experience. He was very professional, personable, and took the time to explain to me and show me evidence of what had gone wrong (socks caught in the drain pump!). Now that he’s fixed it, it works like a charm.
There’s no doubt about it — this guy knows his stuff. I saved his phone number so that I will have it in the future for any other appliance that goes on the fritz.

These guys have a solid setup… they call to confirm appointments, arrive quickly /​on time, etc.
I had a tech named Joseph help me with my non-​functional dryer, he tracked down an intermittent breaker… something that was NOT obvious (it worked, sometimes), but he still managed to figure it out in fairly short order… nice guy too! Thanks AEATX!
