Wet Nose

We have large dogs (i.e. 200 lb +) with suspected poultry allergies. We have a regular place near us we get food however decided to stop in here on a wim to see about chew toys for aggressive chewers.
We were able to find bison horns that our dogs love at a very reasonable price. We also are always looking to be able to offer our dogs a variety fod wise but the challenge is not to mess with their systems. We left with samples that our dogs love and ended up buying a few more bags and will be putting this food in rotation with our other brand, which they also carry.
We would highly recommend.

Quality products, knowledgeable & friendly employees and outstanding service are just a few ways to describe a Wet Nose experience. While some items are a bit pricier than chain pet stores, the food and treats are comparable or sometimes cheaper. And when I say «pricier», I mean if you are buying your dog a fancy collar, clothing or a mink bed, you might pay a little more; it’s a boutique AND IT’S A «MINK» BED. Everything else is very reasonable, affordable and of the highest quality. Love the Halloween window decorations this year too; awesome skeletons!!!

There was a time (before children) when this was my very favorite store. The owners were always there and the visits felt very personal. They knew us and our two dogs. Each time we came in, we were greeted by name with treats for our furbabies.
After the second (and now third) store opened, it was and still is rare to see the owners, which is a little sad to me. I’ll admit, with the high prices and different priorities, I hadn’t gone into the store in quite some time, but when I started returning (after a new furbaby joined our family) I did notice that the store was not as personal and that the staff did seem less knowledgeable and less willing to help a nonregular. I will say that now, as a regular, I am remembered and enjoy the personal touches again, but they could do a little better at making newcomers feel a bit more comfortable. More recently, the ladies I have worked with have also seemed more knowledgeable.
In response to the reviews that complain about the prices of the merchandise, it is rather expensive, however, you would be hard pressed to find the same quality products anywhere else in the direct area. I can find a lot of cheaper beds, but they are made in China or half as cute. Same goes with the collars, leashes, toys, ect. I do, however, wish there was more selection of clothing, particularly with the loops for leashes. Why not? It is a boutique after all.
Overall, some (not all!) of their employees need a little work on customer service, and I’d like to see more boutique selections to bring back the unique nature of the store that I enjoyed when it first opened, but they have a very good loyalty program with great perks. They have revamped their return policies to be more accommodating than just about any store I have ever seen. I enjoy going to the store just to browse or to purchase treats for my furbabies. And finally, I still love the products that they do carry and I would recommend it.

This an absolutely fantastic place. The variety of good quality fur kid foods is the best. Love the toy and treat selection. Cullen our Golden looks forward to his visits as the professional staff greets him with lots of pets, love and a few treats. He is especially fond of the bully sticks and squeaky ball toy selection. Great place for pets to meet and greet. When Cullen was a pup, we had trouble finding him food he would eat. Extremely frustrating and worrisome. Only dog I know that dislikes peanut butter and cheese! The owner sat down with him trying several different brands and styles of foods. He found one Cullen loves –raw frozen and several kibble brands. We thank you very much for your kindness. You made us and Cullen customer’s for life! Great variety of cat foods. You will not be disappointed once you stop by.

Words cannot express my gratitude to the staff at wet nose. I’m not one to often write reviews or statements about any business but these individuals are something else. Every time we walk in the door we feel like family. They go ABOVE AND BEYOND like no other retail store in the area. As business owners ourselves we always respect when companies go the extra mile and similarly pour their hearts and souls into what they do.
They treat my little doc like their own and have given us amazing advice on helping pudge through cancer. If it wasn’t for their help selecting a new food pudge would be far worse. Changing their nutrition due to wet noses recommendation has improved our pugs coats, vitality and hopefully longevity. Pudge no longer suffers from high yeast and macs arthritis no longer bothers him as much. Thank you so much. We appreciate all you have done for us. Especially you, Matthew. You’re nothing short of spectacular!

Never going back. I am a loyalty member here, and used to buy my catfood here regularly. The owners are very nice, but I never see them anymore. The young girl that works here is terribly rude. I will go to Petsmart from now on, as they are not far, and the people that work there have manners.

Wet Nose WAS my go-​to dog boutique when making my quarterly visits home to the Chicago area. My pups would jump into the suitcase looking for the Wet Nose bag and their little gifties. Not anymore.
Positives: Great if you are looking for better kibble, raw food, healthier treats, and/​or need advice from the owner
Negatives: No longer the place for unusual gifts, toys, apparel, charms, collars (etc.)… AND EXPENSIVE
Sad to say, there is no reason for me to belong to their loyalty program any more. They are still three stars as they do have a lot of good food and treats, and there is something to be said for that.

Stopped in after running an errand and we happened to have our pup. Place looks like a higher end dog boutique shop, so I was a bit apprehensive.
We were warmly greeted, and our little girl was the center of attention from the get go. Can’t remember the name of the employee, but she was very friendly. Having been in retail sales, it is a delicate line between being inquisitive, helpful, educational and bothersome. She did a wonderful job of explaining the benefits of a non grain diet and showed us some great and affordable options.
Another shock was finding some of the specialty bones we would buy at a place like PetSmart for the same price.
Once we move to the area I believe my wife and I will definitely be coming back and giving the non grain food options a shot.

Nice store, have all of the high end dog foods and treats.
They carry Fromms and Acana which we like as well as bullies and all other funky dog chews (dried hearts, duck feet, etc).
Always have had good experiences with the staff and their merch is super cute!

I love this place, the prices are reasonable and the staff are so helpful. I was in the other day and Mary Jo helped me pick out a new sweater for my sweet baby Olivia. She also talked to me about the different natural treats they offered and the other products they sell. I could really tell that she cared about me as a customer, and my dog as a living breathing thing. I would recommend this place, and Mary Jo’s wisdom and care, to any friend.

Couldn’t believe the service here! Used to love the place for the product, but really disappointed in the service. Bought my dog a personalized tag here a couple of months ago. They called me and when we finally connected they informed me that their clerk had originally undercharged me by $ 10 and they wanted to add that to my card at this time so they «didn’t have to charge the clerk». ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I would have been the repeat customer who would have spent hundreds over the next year on my dog, but now I will go out of my way to Two Boston’s to get my pets needs. Say goodbye to my money for any future pets or any of my friends for that matter! Specialty stores should focus on service AND product!

They are very helpful in finding what you need. My only reason for giving them 4 instead of 5 stars is they really push the food on you. I have done a lot of research and I buy a food they do not carry and I feel they really push me to switch my food.

Extremely disappointed in the service and lack of respect I received from the team at this location. Customer loyalty keeps you in business and customer care should be your #1 priority if you want to stay in business. There are too many options– including on-​line to be treated very rudely by an over priced store. No thank you Wet Nose and good luck!

Great place with a large variety of real food for dogs. Our dog had trouble with an allergic reaction to the byproducts found in the nationally advertised brands. The folks at Wet Nose worked with us in figuring out which blend of food would be best.
Recently we had a small issue with a reward card that we couldn’t redeem within the expiration period and the owner worked it out with us and we received full value. We’ll continue to take all of our business there, and highly recommend to anyone who truly cares about what is contained in the food they feed their dogs.

We stopped in on a recent visit to Geneva Commons — we needed to pick up an xmas present for our neighbor’s puppy before our drive back to the twin cities. We browsed the store for a while and picked up a «Chelsy’s Toy» on the recommendation of a staff member. She was spot on — the toy was immediately loved (both by the neighbor’s dog and by our own when they were over to play) and so far it has held up to the play. We’re really excited about the washability of the toy and look forward to seeing how it does over time.

When I first wrote this review it had been within a few years of it being open and I will readily admit I loved the store. Since then the employees, service and their knowledge has gone down tremendously. I used to see the owners quite a bit and since they opened their second store I never see them… it was a nice feel to know that you were buying locally and that the owners were involved. They were awesome you actually felt welcomed but now… not so much.
Now I don’t feel it’s any better than a random boutique dog store it of course is a step up from a PetSmart or PetCo but now it appears the employees know very little– it is a lot of… «I recommended it to my friend and their dog liked it…» .that is how they recommended my last dog food and when I asked the employee what grain free foods they had he had to read all the packages… it took forever (and heck I could of read all the packages myself).
I was there another time a Saturday evening and there were 5 people in line and one of the cashiers decided to play with a dog rather than help all the people in line… like she actually left her register to play with a customers dog-​she actually looked at all of us and said I’ll be with you in a minute…5 minutes passed and we were still waiting… I love dogs but when you have that many people in line you should maybe ring up your customers?
The recent main reason I will not come here is that I purchased food here and they tell you that if your dog doesn’t like it like in 2 weeks they will take it back… So I took the bag home and my dog loved it so I put it in dog food container and threw away the package… so within the last week my dog had a serious GI infection were now she needs to be on special food for about 2 months, I called and told the person on the phone the situation (which it wasn’t my dog doesn’t like the taste) where medically she had to be on special food for a short period of time I told her that I still had my receipt and that the food has barely been eaten but I had thrown away the bag… There was no understanding or concern that because medically my dog could not eat the food and then she stated without the bag they could not take it back… because the VENDOR required it… well without customers the vendors wouldn’t exist. The woman stood very firm on the VENDOR thing and she could care less.
There are so many other doggie stores (I still would never go to PetSmart… I will admit Wet Nose is a hair above a PetSmart) in the area that are so much better and actually give good customer service and care more about their customers and less about the VENDOR I’ll be going to one of those.
I used to love coming here but when my dog goes back on normal food I won’t be coming into the store in the future for anything treat, leashes, food… nada…
Run your furry friend to another store… there are no exceptions here and no concern for your pet all they seem to care about is their VENDORS and not their customers.

Wet Nose is a very, very cute pet boutique, great employees. However, I ran across an incident and will not shop here again. Long story short, I have never encountered such a ridiculous exchange/​return policy. «The vendor would not take it back»…without customers one would not need vendors!!! Return was finally taken back after all the aggravation. It’s the principal and not the amount of the item.

Absolutely Love this store. Great employees everyone is so helpful and can answer any question. Everyone is a pet lover anytime i bring my dog in they get nothing but love.
They have everything from kibble, treats, to raw food. Great place to buy your pup that special collar or toy. I love the selection of pet food and treats. I have been to the Oak Brook location and just the same friendly customer service.
They have cat food and treats too.

We love the Wet Nose! They have the best of everything our dogs need and want. Even so, their chews and such are reasonably priced. Owners and staff are stellar. Wish I could give them more stars!

This is one of my favorite places to go for doggy-​stuff. The only reason I can’t make it there more often is that it’s so far away for me! The owner is what makes this store so fabulous. She is REALLY on her game and informed about RAW food diet, and has provided invaluable advice. She seems really genuine, and comes across as being in this business for the betterment of our dogs.
Besides the hard-​to-​find RAW dog food, they have really cute boutique-​style shopping: Leashes, harnesses, clothing, beds, dog-​carriers, etc… GREAT stuff. This place just makes me (and my dogs) happy.
They are a bit expensive, but I don’t think they’re that much more expensive than any other dog-​boutique. This is the larger of the 2 stores and carries more stock, so I prefer to go to this location, but if not the other one is still fabulous.
