Haverstraw King’s Daughters Public Library

This library is a treasure in the community! It was built not too long ago, probably just a little over 10 years ago. It still looks very new, and is HUGE. There are 3 floors, and the first floor being books, magazines, movies for adults, and the second floor for kids and teens. The third floor has some meeting rooms, and event space. The first floor also has a large study area with computers as well as silent study and tutor rooms.
The library has a great selection of books, magazines, and movies. If they do not have what you are looking for, they will use your library card to attain it from another library in their system and call you when it is ready to be picked up. This is a great service, and I have used it frequently in the past.
There are a lot of great programs for kids and adults alike. During the summer, there are a lot of kids programs to help them complete their summer reading, as well as art classes, storytelling, and high school students who tutor younger children. For adults, there’s always some cooking classes, they offer drivers ed, wine tastings, and book clubs etc.
Overall, this is a great addition to the community and the best library around the area. It is a great place to spend some time, study and even volunteer!

This library has it all! A vast collection of books, magazines, movies, games, excellent activities and technology… My family loves visiting. The children’s area is colorful, cozy and houses an enormous selection of books. My only complaint is that on numerous occasions some items that I have returned still appear as checked out. I hand them in to the clerk whenever possible. We are fortunate to have this treasure in our community :)
