I love this place a lot !! I love the atmosphere, the Waite staff is above and beyond !! The drinks are excellent as is the menu and food. I was just there again the other day for dinner with friends who flew down from Connecticut, so they could try the best fried green tomatoes we have ever tasted, followed by their cheddar bacon grits and shrimp in a wonderful lemon sauce, which I just adore .My friends daughter had the Beef Short ribs, that made my mouth water, so we are going back again this week to try them, and my husband had the special, which was fried Cat Fish that he absolutely loved. This is a gem of a Café/Bar here in Garner and I recommend it highly.

Great food, great prices! We were drawn in thinking we wanted the Taco Tuesday special but we saw 2 burgers pass the table and we were sold. Their burgers are delicious! Also our dinner was under $ 20. If I am coming back in the area for work I’ll make sure to make this my lunch or dinner destination.

When they are on their A game this place is awesome but sometimes it’s hit or miss! Overall I really enjoy the food and the fact they use local ingredients when available. They also serve local beers and adult milkshakes if your into that sort of thing.

Always good food with attentive and nice staff. The only negative I have are the sides. Besides fries they have strange options, one being a terrible brown rice. The salmon filet and salmon sandwich are my favorites.

We absolutely love Simple Twist. Their omelettes are the best around, hands down. My son loves the going ham, and my hubby always orders the peace love and veggies. I finally tried the shrimp and grits(my favorite) and they did not disappoint. It is our go to place when we want amazing food. Their menu is original and the quality is consistent. The servers are all so attentive and sweet.

I am so glad to have Simple Twist at 40⁄42. I love the menu with a twist and everything I have tried has been quite tasty. A great close fun restaurant to go out with friends or a date night.

The food here is phenomenal every time! My husband had a merlot rib eye the other night, that was hands down the best steak i’ve tried in a long time. This is a great restaurant and we are so happy to have it close by.

I have heard good things about this place from reviews and friends that frequent the restaurant. We arrived around 6:30 on a Saturday night, the place was busy, we got the last open table. Our server greeted us, took our drink order, some water came, and a little while later we received drinks. We ordered the twisted guac, and I was underwhelmed… it was regular guac that was sprinkled with blue cheese. There was some bacon that was the saving grace. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits. The grits were overly flavored with lemon and bacon… and I know its hard to say this, but it was too much bacon. There were a decent amount of shrimp. I ordered the mexicali blues bowl with shrimp. My shrimp came out barely cooked enough, my friends had to convince me that they were pink. The rice int he bowl had either been sitting out, warmed over, or not cooked enough. Had we not been there with friends that go on a regular basis, I would’ve probably said something, but did not want to offend their new favorite local place. I will definitely give this place another try, maybe it was just an ‘off’ night for them.

The food is wonderful but the place is very small. But it is worth the close quarters. I recommend the food truck tacos.

Chef Nathan and crew are the best of the best in the area! Fresh ingredients and a creative menu make this THE place to eat, relax and leave happy. We’ve been to Simple Twist for lunch and dinner, multiple times, and have never been disappointed with any of our meals. From burgers to Ribeye, lobster mac and cheese to the fresh fish of the day… You can’t go wrong! The staff he and his wife employ are attentive and knowledgeable and make you feel like you are their only table. We’re so happy we don’t have to drive to Raleigh to have a great dining experience. Give them a try… You’ll be happy you did!

Great food. Friendly staff. Places like this would shine anywhere, but the i-40/hwy 42 area is lacking quality restaurants, making this place a real gem. This is a must try if you’re in the area.

Consistently good food. It’s a nice addition to the 40⁄42 area where there is noting but chain restaurants.

Nice little place. Food is pretty good and they seem to be pretty creative. Nice beer selection. Had a Red Oak and a Foothills Seeing Double IPA to go with my Pollos Hermanos(not like the Breaking Bad one, but still pretty good). Staff was very friendly, even as busy as they were. Definitely will come back next time I’m in town. I went to 4 stars, but I think closer to 3.5, although not for lack of effort.

Surprised me! Not sure why, but I half expected this place to be one of those gambling establishments so I avoided it. I checked out the Unilocal reviews and decided to have a go. Very happy with that choice… The twisted guac was great! I’ll be back.

Got their guacamole appetizer and even thoughts like blue cheese I didn’t particularly like it mixed with guacamole. Their spinach salad with chicken and bacon vinaigrette was very good.

Started with a salad. Fresh and a nice portion. Then ordered the pancho villa burger(or something like that) with hand cut fries. The burger was covered in fresh guacamole and perfectly melted cheese. My burger could not have been prepared/cooked more perfectly. It was absolutely DELICIOUS. Definitely worth getting a burger here as the server told me that they only use the highest quality, fresh never frozen beef, and fresh, hand cut fries. Service was good and the waitress recommended the burger. It was spot on. Only down side, and I cleaned my plate, was that the fries weren’t hot. But they were really good, although a little soggy. That said, I ate every bite. Prices, service, food, and overall experience was excellent. For the price, this place is a real gem. Try it!

I’m going for 5 stars here. First of all I didn’t know what a Café and Bar is, that also serves great food prepared by a creative chef… fall off the bone Ribs, Seafood specialties, Steaks, Lobster Mac & Cheese, Thai Rice Bowls, open for lunch and dinner… Really? Sure enough, they did it all. I took my 2 adult kids and we can verify the food and service was excellent. Not only can you get a great meal in this strip mall Café/Bar, but also there are regulars watching the Games on the TV set up behind the Bar, plus there were kids in the place who were comfortable, and local folks running into other local folks. They did it! Great job Simple Twist!

Excellent ribeye steak grilled to medium rare and fries and a Crown Royal. They used spices on the grilled steak and fries which sets their ribeye apart from the typically bland fare at other establishments. Service was prompt, polite and made my meal enjoyable and I felt comfortable. I walked there from my Hampton Inn room nearby. Not too far and my meal settled well on my walk back.

Wifey & I stopped here for late lunch yesterday after we heard good things about the joint as well as it’s Unilocal rating. Three doors to get in & I could see why someone else mentioned how it could be cold in the place especially seated next to a door. I like the look and the quaintness of the place. We were quickly seated, place was clean and the waiter was quick to our table. Restrooms very clean, I would say above average for restaurant. I ordered up the Cohiba Havana and Mrs had the Peace, Love, and veggies sandwich without the bread and goat cheese. She had xtra veggies, as side with added chicken breast which had almost doubled the $ 8 dollar lunch item. My Havana sandwich was fresh, tasted good, nice panini pressed with a nice spiced jalapeño peppers. However. it is a sandwich. Not overly impressed as I removed the string coating from the sliced ham from my sandwich. Not overly filled, but not skimpy other than maybe the two-three tablespoons of the tasteless pork on it. Wife liked her dish, but for 28 clams for the tab including tax and one soda I won’t go out of my way. They say the menu changes so I will give them another try with something more daring thanks to other Unilocalers ratings. But for now it is an average rating.

Just walked out of this sweet restaurant and figured I would express how pleased I am with the choice to try it out! Lunch was amazing! The menu is varied and interesting. I had a hard time deciding but eventually chose the Pancho Villa Hamburger, which was super & cooked to perfection and a cup of Mushroom Bisque(it’s cold outside!!!) and that was also delicious. There are about 20 other choices on the menu that I want to try! I will most definitely make it a point to return!
