History

Established in 1978.

In 1978, the city of Garland was introduced to Texas Audio Car Stereo and Security. The founder, Manny Awad, had a vision to establish a performance mobile audio center for enthusiasts to purchase cutting edge products and have them professionally installed into their vehicles. Products that would later define the 12 volt industry, such as the original Fosgate Punch 45, an amplifier whose legacy is permanently etched into the hearts of bass junkies and music aficionados alike, was a staple at Texas Audio.

Family owned and operated for over 30 years, Manny’s strive for perfection is infused in everything we do because anything less would just not be up to Texas Audio’s standards. As it was more than three decades ago, Texas Audio is up to any challenge in order to achieve a satisfied customer. This is the only place you should go to for your car audio. I pull up outside and Jr comes outside and greets me and brings me into the shop. He then specifically asks me for the sound im looking for and is extremely knowledgabke about the products and knows that i dont have a lot of money to work with. He gets everything taken care of quickly and is extremely personable as well. I bring my car up to the shop and they take care of everything. I call him and ask if its ready and he says hes got a surprise for me. He upgraded my subs no charge and everything looks and sounds perfect. words cant express what he did to my sound system.

Junior is the best!!! He runs the shop. I got my limo tint and head light replaced. They did an amazing job! My car looks awesome! I highly recommend everyone to go here at least once. They do performance lighting, tint, stereo systems, remote start, navigation, etc.

Wow! What a nice store! Ultra clean and well stocked with anything you could imagine! It’s right down the road from Prestige Ford so once you get your new Ford you’d be crazy not to take your first ride over to Texas Audio and talk with Junior. He won’t steer you wrong and will work with your budget! I was in and out of there in no time… And the work they did is very slick! Top choice, I have a new go-​to when I need tint, audio, nav or remote start!

I have a ’66 Impala that I wanted to get some music into and knew that all of the big box stores would not suffice. After some research on classic car forums, Texas Audio’s name came up, so I dropped by to see what the store was all about. After some discussion with Jr, the owner, he had laid out 3 different price points with various differences of equipment. We made our choice and part of that was the custom fabrication of two small walls to mount the front speakers from under the dash. It also included the install of a new package tray behind the back seat. When we picked up the car, they showed us all the information and details about the head unit and helped us tweak the settings before leaving. The sound is amazing, the craftsmanship is top quality and the crew was very professional. If you’re looking for a truly professional install, Texas Audio is the place to go.

Texas Audio is probably the best place that you can take your vehicle to for any of your vehicle’s electronic modifications. Due to a recent remodel, their store is not only ridiculously clean, but the shop is equally as nice and organized. This is a place that you can trust the guys behind the closed door while they are working on your car or truck. They clearly take pride in their work.
I stopped in to have the remaining portion of my LED lights installed. I had an idea of exactly what I wanted, but they educated me in a direction that I hadn’t thought of. Meaning, they are not there to get you to just spend your money. They honestly want you to get the best out of what you can. My installation was affordable and quick. I have zero complaints.
Now, something that really separates Texas Audio from their competitors is the people that run this store. Manny the founder and owner, is just your perfect small business owner. He was kind and informative, but I cant stop there. His son, Junior, is the one running the show. This guy is a younger version of his father. Super personable and very knowledgeable of this 12 volt industry. Not only am I happy with my final product, I thoroughly enjoyed the conversation with you two guys while waiting. I look forward to my next drop-​in.

this place is by far the BEST Audio and tint shop in the Dallas area. the customer service is impeccable, their prices are the lowest in town and on the cool, makes these big time car places look real bad. I recently bought a jeep that came with a basic audio system. After watching a couple of you tube videos I thought I could change the speakers myself. After an hour of frustration, I decided to call Texas audio. Without hesitation they said I could bring in the jeep right away. They installed the speakers and took good care of me. I brought in 4 cases of Dynamat to be installed on my car. The installation was smooth, it may have took a little longer than anticipated (couple of hours), however a good job takes time and quality was delivered. I am pleased with the results, a week out and 200 miles in driving, noises have been reduced dramatically in the interior and music takes much less volume to get its point across, in fact I’ve had to turn the bass down on some songs (factory stereo). They even sent me pictures of the installation which made me feel great.
I see myself coming back for future installations and help with my vehicles and will recommend them to my friends.

Let’s say: A girl has some speakers that rattle, vibrate and sound like the speakers sitting in the 1975 car at the impound lot. Said girl, jumps on Unilocal and find a local speaker place with great reviews on Unilocal.She calls the store on a Saturday and asks if she should come another day. They inform her that today would be fine. She walks into the store knowing nothing about speakers and the sales guy walks her through the Speaker 101. Makes, models, prices, why prices are the way they are etc. She asks all sort of silly questions and she gets them answered. She picks some speakers and no, they weren’t pink and decides to go to lunch. Within a couple of hours, she gets a phone call that her beloved Lexus can now play music. She goes back to Texas Audio and picks up her now musically enabled vehicle and rolls off into the sunset with the Lumineers playing loud enough for her neighboring car to hear.
Said girl is ME and I am a happy ME thanks to Texas Audio!
