Surf & Swim, Audubon Park

Fun amazing place… went here for my lovely daugther birthday and I had a ton of fun. The area that you will have the birthday party at is very spacious. They actually keep the park clean. Prices are reasonable and I would not lie to you. The water is very refreshing as well.
Staff of the park is very friendly. Restrooms needs some work. I like the fact that they actually have music that you can hear.
The only con I would say is they need to stay open a little later, but other than that this is one of the hot spots

Husband and 7 year old have been talking nonstop about this place since they got home yesterday! On a whim, DH decided to drive over to Garland and check out this place he’d read about on a DFW kids website. The website says to CALL regarding occupancy limits of arriving after 2 pm and there’s a reason: it’s a city-​owned facility that actually adheres to occupancy standards which also optimizes the experience for the patrons who show up early. As they were leaving, an apologetic «We’re Sold Out!» sign was up but there is a discounted «Twilight» price if arriving after 4 so CALL people! That said, my daughter has been raving about the wave pool, which she got braver and braver about enjoying solo thanks to her provided life vest and the close proximity of daddy nearby. Lifeguards did a great job of nipping «tube hoarding» in the bud and the access to shaded (tree) ground, good quality chairs (two types), and the courteous behavior of 99% of others at the park only added to the wonderful experience. I’ve been told by both family members that I WILL be joining them the next time we venture out of our little Collin county bubble!

My 9year old son really likes this place. I like the price. No it isn’t as big as Hawaiian Falls but neither does it cost as much. My son only likes the lazy river and the wave pool anyway at HF, so this places wins to him.

I lived in Garland forever and had never been to Surf & Swim, one bored afternoon, I was encouraged to check it out and i actually liked it! It was clean and the baywatch 2014 crews lol. (Lifeguards) were everywhere just supervising and all! I ate before going there so idk how the food is there, in short words it was cheap and nice!

Though this place has two water areas, a water pad for little ones and a large wave pool for everyone else, it’s pretty nice.
I took three 12 year old boys there today and was not sure if they would bore quickly. From what I gathered, they did not. And thuere’s quite a bit of shade to grab if you get there early, like 11am. By the time I sat down and got settled, I was in perfect position to read a book and people watch.
People come in droves though. Get there early to get a spot and a chair. You can bring your own food and drinks, no glass… they WILL make you give up the jar or put the contents in a baggie no matter what is is… even salsa!
I was there on a Groupon. Enjoyed ourselves very much. But it’s cheap anyway. Give it a try.

Short review — Bridges that price-​sensitive gap between a city pool and a water park.
Good — Surf and Swim consists of a decent splash pad for toddlers and preschoolers and a good-​sized wave pool. That’s it. But for $ 5/​kid and $ 6/​adult (under 2 free), it doesn’t break the bank for a Saturday.
Bad — the crowds (don’t let go of your tube once you find one), parking can be tight, the restrooms aren’t always in nice shape and it’s a bit of a drive for me from north Garland.
I also had a problem last year when my son was bored by the splash pad but not skilled enough to thoroughly enjoy himself in a crowded wave pool. If this complex had a zero-​depth regular pool, it would definitely be 4 stars.

For the price ($ 6), this sure can’t be beat for a weekend outing in DFW. Every few minutes the waves come on and the kids and happy grown ups cheer. You can even bring in your own cooloers and lunches — it doesn’t get much better than that! You do have to fight to find a spot in the afternoon and people bump into you — come early. I was impressed with how clean the most of the park was. The resrooms smell like ass and the floors are wet, though.
