First time trying this place… we usually drive to Plano to get sushi but living down the road we figured we would give this place a try. I’m glad we did because it’s it’s pretty solid sushi place maybe not as good as the one we usually go to but as far as distance and pricing goes we haven’t found any place near that’s better.

We always come back for our favorite sushi rolls. They’re basic but they don’t have them else where so we return… Baby lobster and Volcano. Dining should be a good experience. When I eat out I don’t expect to come ask for refills, consistent extra napkins, or share plates and silverware. An attentive staff would know that. I’ve had great service here once. Other than that I’m usually waiting to get someone’s attention before I have what I need… Servers should serve the way they want to dine.

I wanted to like this place so bad because it was so close to my house but I just can’t. The friend shrimp in the sushi was not freshly fried and actually tasted stale. The rest of it was bland and not fresh. I gave it. A couple of tries but it’s just not good.

So I don’t know what the big problem is with this place but it’s fantastic! The atmosphere is very chill and what you’d expect for a trendy sushi bar. The waitstaff was incredibly polite and knowledgeable about the menu and very prompt on service. The prices were fair and decent for what you got. My husband and I especially liked that they brought all our rolls out on one big plate instead of many different platters that take up so much room. And the rolls were amazing! We got the crunch, the chicken california, the too much love, and the bbq. We are not sushi snobs and we thought they were very unique and well presented. Only downside is that the bathroom is one room with a toilet so you do have to wait. Although it’s not our fave sushi place in Frisco, we will definitely be coming back for a neighborhood sushi fix!

If your desperate for sushi, come to this location. This place use to be amazing! Now it’s as if it is owned by new owners, the rice always falls apart on you, there is a sorry thin slice of fish that is sometimes cooked… Some of the pieces of the roll were warm??? The waitress is rude. The chefs stare at you as if they are racist. Avoid this location at all costs! Go to central market instead in plano, they have an amazing selection for 12.99 no tax!

I love this place. Their rolls are always huge and they have buy one get one half off rolls for Wednesday on to go orders.

Ate here two days ago and I’m still sick. The sad thing is food wasn’t even good. Ordered the chicken fried rice and seriously it was a really sad attempt. Panda Express has better chicken fried. Rice than this place. The sushi was horrible not fresh at all. Will never come back here to say the least

Giving this place four stars because the food is always solid and consistent. The service is not fantastic and is usually a high school kid who’s never waited tables. Not a bad idea to order takeout but I still don’t mind the lax service at a place like this. It’s not a fancy restaurant. I love ordering their house salad with this incredible dressing of shredded carrot and ginger and the volcano roll. Frequent customer.

Love it! I’ve tried many things on the menu(chicken with curry, alaska roll, volcano roll, etc) and enjoyed each dish. I’ve even brought my picky sister and she also enjoyed it.

I normally don’t leave bad reviews, because I don’t care and just don’t go back… But this place… After the way I was treated, I want to give it negative stars. I thought the food wasn’t all that bad. The rice is delicious. However, come to find out, this place is extremely dirty and cross contaminate In a horrid way. I have seen this with my own eyes. They don’t clean the way they should. There’s sauces tosses all over the restaurant, stains on the walls, it’s so dusty. It’s apparent no one there cleans the way a restaurant should be cleaned. They don’t care to attend to their guests the way they’d like. They have the attitude of get them in, get their money, get them out. It’s just flat out disgusting. And it seems they can’t keep the GOOD employees. That is all I have to say about that…

Let me start by saying that I go here at least once a week to order their cali rolls to go, they’re my favorite, but there’s a reason I order them to go. The service is absolutely horrid. I have not once gone in where I was attended to by a friendly staff member. I’m not sure what their problem is as far as hiring friendly employees but they need to get it together. The atmosphere inside is also very dark and dingy, and since the place is usually empty it’s not a comfortable place to go to talk and laugh, you feel like you should be whispering the entire time. I would NEVER be back to this place again if I wasn’t so addicted to their California rolls.

I have never had such a horrible sushi experience. The food was bland and cooked. I ordered the Long Island roll that was described as having Crab, avocado, yellow tail and scallop.(basically a california roll topped with yellow tail and scallop, sounds awesome I know) The Yellow tail and scallop were both COOKED! The other roll that was ordered was has tempera shrimp on it. The tempera has the texture like it was cooked hours before and the spicy tuna that accompanied it tasted old and gritty. We did not finish our food as we were not going to put such food in our bodies. NEVERGOINGBACK

I don’t agree with the 3 stars here as this place is amazing. It deserves as many star as possible. The california roll and calamari rolls are delicious, as simple as it may look, the flavor is out of this world. this place sells you what you pay for, worth every penny! I recommend 100% The service here is terrible, so terrible that I order to go almost every single time. But other than that, the sushis make up for the bad service and ppl who can’t take your orders right.

Just happened to come across this sushi place on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch. We had a chicken California roll. I think it was called. Fried chicken. Cucumber. Avocado. Crab meat and an avocado sauce. It was delicious. We enjoyed it so much. We went back a few days later for dinner with our daughters. Spicy California roll. Fresh avocado. Teriyaki beef. Double shrimp rolls. All were so good. The atmosphere is nice. Dim. Quiet. It’s really relaxing. The service was good. She accidentally filled my daughters dr pepper with coke. But we said nothing. We don’t really like to complain. It’s a little pricey. But sushi can be!

Intro– I’m generally a really generous reviewer and there’s a lot that will make me go below 3 or 4 stars… But yeah. You see the rating. Service– dang. This part gets me. And to see that I’m not alone and this is on other reviews… I’d have to say yeah the service was pretty bad. Granted mine was not as bad as others. They just forgot the tempura for the TEMPURA udon. I’m not some snob but I just thought that was funny. There were a total of 2 parties when I went and they still barely tended to me. They kinda stood around and my drink didn’t get refilled. But that’s not too big of a problem to me. I’m always at a place purely to eat. I just know for others it might be so cmon staff! Food– I’ve been here 3 times total? The first two times with my family and this third time by myself. The first two times was a long time ago but I remembered that their sushi couldn’t hold form. Like the rice kept falling apart and I’m adept with chopsticks. The fish didn’t taste fresh because when you smell fish, it’s supposed to have a clear smell. Not a fishy supermarket smell. As for the tempura udon, the tempura veggies and shrimp was good! Probably my favorite thing there. Unfortunately, for the udon, the soup felt flat. Really flat in flavor. I had to request their ichimi chili powder(or something of the sort) and I put a whole spoonful in their. Finally gave it a kick and a nice level of flavor. Oh and the miso was average. Not a lot of separation going on? Conclusion– in the end, this place would probably do better with a more attentive staff, fresher cuts of fish, a more firm construction of the sushi, and more flavor to the udon. For the price point maybe a bit lower would do, and that’s not me being stingy, that’s me being real.

I always purchase the chicken California roll here. Took myself on a date night. Waiter sat me to where I was facing the check out counter where all the employees were as opposed to seating where they weren’t staring at me eat my food. Asked for sake, the waiter brought out a whole bottle, like seriously? How stupid do you think I am? I asked for a smaller quantity, he said this is all we have. Brought the bill to me after I only ate 2 pieces of my roll, while he stared at me. Never came to refill my water. Also their times are incorrect on the website. I ordered to go an hour before close and was 15 mins from their closing time when I pick it up. The owner had an attitude and was a butthole when I pick it up and said you late. Then I apologized and he said nothing. I said have a good night and he said nothing again. So I left $ 0.00 tip due to the rudeness. Learn to treat customers better or reap what you sow.

Got sushi to go, one roll smelled very fishy when I opened the container and did not seem fresh, and it was basically cream cheese wrapped in rice. The other was very sloppy and and saturated in sauce.

Super bad service. Within 5 mins of receiving my food, before I could dig in the server drop me off my check. I later saw him in the corner waiting for me to pay. After I pay he dropped it back off for me to sign and I’m not even half way through my food. He slowly started taking off his work clothes about 4 ft away from me and had another server pick up the check then he left. Did not ask me if I wanted a to go box since I clearly had all my food still on the table or said anything to me. The food was okay, but I wouldn’t come back. Quickest dinner I’ve ever had. This was all within 20 mins.

As a roll lover and one who has tried them at many restaurants across the country, I was excited to try this location since there are not many Japanese restaurants in Garland and I was so incredibly disappointed! We stood at the hostess stand for quite some time waiting to be seated in a practically empty restaurant. Once seated there was confusion about who our server was and basically was told someone had to wait on us since we were seated in his section and he didn’t seem thrilled about it. I ordered a couple of rolls which took a long time to be served and when they finally made it to my table, the order was wrong. The correct rolls were served fairly promptly however they were not very good at all. I expect any rolls that have a tempura piece in it to be warm-these were cold which tells me the rice and fillings were old and not freshly made. The service was not good, the rolls were awful(however my 16-year daughter liked them) and the experience left my pockets light and wishing I had gone to Pei Wei and spent half as much and had far better food. No bueno!

I walked in with another friend and was greeted with a smile by a waiter. The room was dark but in a cozy way, an area that has decent lighting coming from a window facing a wall of businesses. The area that it is in is kind of obscure. My friend an I were seated at a table near the large windows and ordered something along the lines of the new salmon roll(I’m not entirely sure what it was) and something called a «crunch» roll(that is what the waiter told me, although I don’t remember seeing it on the menu and never got a price range for it). Miso soup came with the orders. The soup was less than fantastic: It did not have the usual separation you see in miso soup. It was cloudy and lukewarm, so you could tell it was sitting in a pot for quite a while. When the rolls came out, the spicy roll had a generally nice presentation, although some of the rice was placed sloppily. However, the«crunch» roll had a poor presentation. It was a tempura roll that looked clumsily prepared because of the sizes that were not uniform. The crunch roll’s taste didn’t suffer, but you could tell that it was sitting out for quite a while before being served. Of course, since it was fried, it wasn’t as terrible as it sounds. The spicy roll, despite the decent presentation, had a taste that was aged. It wasn’t as spicy as I was expecting, either, especially with the amount of sauce on top. I was missing the real kick and got a diluted sting. The fish inside did not taste like most sushi places I’ve been to. Again, you could tell the ingredients were sitting out longer than necessary and with my fear, probably more than recommended. Bottom line: the ingredients were not fresh. I don’t know if they simply let the ingredients sit or of they don’t have proper tools to maintain freshness, but it definitely lacked. I am not surprised that I’ve never really heard anything about this place. It’s not totally worth talking about.
