The history behind this place is pathetically amazing. Read up on it and you’ll see why this placed failed so quickly. So much corruption and greed. Also, are they ever going to extend Transportation Blvd. into Rockside? It’s been proposed for years and the mayor said it would get done. What is the deal? This place has no chance at coming back unless that happens, which is a long shot.

Many problems… few solutions! I wish the people of The Shoppes of Parma or someone take over this garbage heap… literally and figuratively! It was opened at a bad time, 2006. The economy went belly-up, there’s no extension to Rockside Road for Transportation Road which would’ve kept the stores, and there should be more awareness with the garbage plaza. The only thing that’s there is Giant Eagle and Office Max. So if the solution of making Transportation Road a through street… then City View would thrive. The restaurants over there are doing okay for themselves.

I love this plaza. It has everything I need and it is in a fantastic location. The rumor is that in the spring the road to Rockside construction will begin again which will revitalize this area. This plaza got a bad rap because it was built on top of a garbage dump. Well i have news for you, that is a very common practice. Its called land re-purposing and it happens everyday… Then there was this rumor that methane gas was trapped beneath the plaza and that it could explode at anytime. Well its garbage, its decaying. so yes there is methane gas, but there wasn’t enough to even ignite with a match… But people are idiots. so they believe what they want… What really killed this place was the recession and Walmart pulling out. Once confidence in buying comes back and the road is completed, i hope this plaza will flourish again. Its a great and quick stop off the freeway for gas, food or even just a cup of coffee. Located in a safe neighborhood and nice and clean. Plus if you need to practice donuts or parking… The Walmart lot is huge and empty!

just as i thought about the steelyard commons adventure, i shall say this. What the… but what i should be saying«where the…» where the heck did these come from? i swear yesterday these weren’t here. steelyard commons didn’t get all the stars yet from me because chic-fil-a and yes, the big mart of walls that most of us don’t admit we shop at but we do don’t exist there yet. they are still just glimmers in mom and dad’s eyes. if by mom and dad i mean city planners, architects, and investors, ok. well, marts of walls is actually a fetus now, but i digress. give it a few months and it will be the mecca of all that is good for those of us living in the city vicinity. it’s already doing pretty darn good, though i just don’t understand why i never see that many people there. weird? that’s the part that creeps me out. huge ass stores with no one in them, no one in the parking lots, and just space everywhere. it’s kinda creepy. like a comet exploded and hit the earth and i didn’t know it. instead i’m just shopping like a little happy girl in target buying god knows what because if it’s in target, i must need it. where steelyard will be in about a year is city view. yes, it a bit farther away from cleveland, but still easily accessible, city view offers a heck of a lot. mart of walls. chipotle qdoba bed bath and beyond dicks sporting goods giant eagle petsmart a crap load of random stores including cell phone stores, hair places, you know, random stuff. there’s a lot of stuff here. and it’s good stuff. to city view i say«thank you, i didn’t know i needed that much random shit from bed, bath, and beyond» and to steelyard commons i say«why are you so empty? stop it. you’re creeping me out. and if i should be in a fall out shelter, someone please tell me.» both, i think are pretty good places. one’s just the older sister to the fetus, one’s just being born. ah, feti. i just made that up. feti. use it at least once today. recycling areas that needed it? ok. good job, clevo. as long as you’re not taking out landscape that animals need and instead recycling old developed areas that needed a revamp, i say much kudos. so to all of this development that apparently is happenning right below my nose and i don’t even know it until one day it’s there, kudos to you. EDIT: my friend tells me they built this over a toxic waste dump. is this true??? wow. if it is. holy crap on toast. is that why my feet are glowing?
