The Herup family purchased the Assets of Nevada Small Engines, in Gardnerville, Nevada, and have worked ever since to provide the community with a quality choice, selling and repairing all types of outdoor power equipment, with an emphasis on quality products and quality repairs over «beating anyone’s prices».

Have taken my chainsaw and my Rototiller there for service. Both times the owner was rude about where I purchased those items. I was there for repair work and due to the industry that I am in, buying things at Home Depot and Lowe’s makes more sense for me. The repair on my Rototiller was subpar, the pull start never properly wound back after taking it to him. I now avoid going here and unfortunately take a longer drive to get my small gas engines repaired.

Wow, great customer service. This establishment is the kind of place that will renew your faith in small businesses.
I stepped on the key to my Neuton battery powered lawn mower, and the man at ASJ gave me his personal key for my use. He told me to keep it until the one that I ordered comes in, and we’ll switch then.
This is the kind of thing that just doesn’t happen, and it is appreciated.

ASJ is fast, friendly, and knowledgeable. ASJ’s pricing is excellent. ASJ works hard to maintain an excellent reputation!
My Mantis tiller wouldn’t start.
Mantis Corporation said ASJ was an authorized service location.
ASJ personnel are friendly and knowledgeable. They estimated the repair based upon 1) rebuilding the carb, and, 2) replacing the carb. They rebuilt the carb. The actual repair cost less than the estimate and it was half the estimate given by another authorized service dealer. ASJ repaired the Mantis, cleaned it, and tested it. Since I live 150 miles away, they tested my Mantis in their test garden to ensure it would work under load. AND — they filled it with gas!
I picked it up, drove home, and used it. The Mantis worked great. Then, it quit. Sometimes rebuilding a carb works, sometimes it doesn’t.
I took the Mantis back on a Saturday.
ASJ was wonderful! They apologized and said they would make up for the failed repair. I left for home. They called me a couple of hours later. They hoped to catch me before I left the area. ASJ had called the mechanic in – on Saturday — to repair the Mantis. What professionalism!
ASJ replaced the carb and credited the rebuild labor.
I highly recommend ASJ.
