Very nice place. They sell new appliances. Clint was very helpful and knowledgable about the products. I would definitely recommend this place. They have the same purchase capabilities as the bigger stores. Go see Clint!!!

What you get at South Bay is good olé customer service like a small town appliance place. It’s not fancy, it’s not «upscale», but the service definitely is! No matter what you’re spending you get the same service and you can see it for yourself because their sales desks are out in the open and you can see them with the customer ahead of you. They also service everything they sell, so you’re not dealing with some random service company referred from the manufacturer out of state. Finally they will work to get you the best deal. They have long standing relationships with the manufacturers and will really work them on your behalf.

Can’t get the basics right…
A women from South Bay Appliances called me (husband) to make an appointment to come out and service our kitchen appliances. I asked the SBA women to please call my wife to set the appointment I am at work and my wife would be home. The women took down the number, said she would call and hung up.
The women never called my wife and just made a random appointment. The tech called the following morning to let me know when he was coming…

I tried to schedule an appliance repair with South Bay. I called and waited on hold and spoke to a nice lady that took my name and address — and then showed no interest at all in hearing about the problem with my refrigerator. Even though I knew what the problem was and what it would take to fix it, she insisted that I had to pay for a service call to get a technician out to diagnose the problem and then THAT TECHNICIAN would schedule the actual repair technician. I tried to explain why that was unfeasible but she wouldn’t stop talking long enough for me to explain. So I gave up and called someone more customer-​service oriented

Horrible service and attitude !!! After 5 visit which stretched from 7 – 1 to 8 – 12 and over $ 300 they couldn’t fix a dishwasher and they won’t take responsibility. The woman answering the phone is the rudest person ever. She’ll make sure to ruin your day every time you call. They are not refunding our money. We are taking them to court.

Just bought a new fridge here. The transaction was quick and painless and I had the fridge delivered and installed in less than 24 hours. Nice people to deal with. I recommend them.

South Bay Appliance was very responsive & helpful. They called me back based upon my message via Unilocal & scheduled an appointment for 48 hours later. Chuck was on time, friendly & helpful with recommendations as to how to extend the life of my dishwasher. We will call South Bay appliance again with other needs.

Ike helped in assessing a problem I had with my double oven. He was on time, professional and knowledgeable. Great service. Definitely recommend.

I am so frustrated with South Bay appliance. I could have ordered from Best Buy for the same price, but thought their service would be better. So, I bought from South Bay Appliance with a promise of a delivery that Friday. Nothing. They didn’t even know if they would get deliveries on Presidents Day. No. My shipment finally came in and it was 2 dryers rather than the washer & dryer I ordered! Another wait. Given all that, you would think they could honor my request for a morning delivery. No. Still waiting!

Clint was very professional and knowledgable of all the washers and dryers on the sales floor. He was also very courteous and listened to my needs.
Javier and his colleague delivered and installed my washer and dryer on time, very quickly and professionally.
I am very happy with my overall experience with South Bay appliance. I would buy from them again and recommend them to all my family and friends.

The sales department is helpful and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, their service department is just awful. I paid for a new wall oven including installation. I waited two days for someone to come out and measure for the wall oven. They didn’t show up or call. Once installed, I received a bill for an additional $ 8.00. Really? Think Home Depot does that kind of thing after installation? Who gets to bill after the fact?
My first experience with South Bay Appliance’s service department was a nightmare. It took them 7 days to book the repair. The company knew that the dishwasher needed parts. They show up at 5:00. Tear into my dishwasher to say…“the parts department is closed. I’ll have to come back. They will call with the cost of the part” I waited and no phone call. I finally called and was told they wanted $ 380. to repair a dishwasher that was 3 years old. I could purchase a new one for $ 400. My husband got on line, found the part for $ 120. which he installed within 25 minutes. South Bay Appliance will give your appliance a death sentence rather than fix it. I then received a bill for $ 22.00 saying I owed them for a ½ of a service call in which they did NOTHING. I sent several letters to them regarding this. None of the letters were responded to. I thought this might be an isolated incident so tried them again for purchase of a wall oven. That didn’t go much better. Good experience with sales. Bad experience with billing and service.
I will say they carry Speed Queen washers. They are great washers made here in America. That purchase went well and I am extremely satisfied with my Speed Queen purchase.
The sales department is patient and really quite wonderful. Their prices are competitive and they can get an appliance that needs to be ordered quicker than Home Depot can. Unfortunately, their customer service department and service department could use some serious improving.

June 6^th I called to have a technician come out to determine the problem with my Maytag dishwasher. Decided to go ahead with the suggested repair, the part was being ordered. After waiting the estimated 5 business days I called back only to be told, «Of course we will call you when it comes in!» ATTITUDE! Wait another week. Called again, was transferred to the parts dept. what do you know the part had «just arrived». So June 18^th the technician shows up to install the part, takes him all of 10 minutes. Labor charges totaled $ 168.50. REALLY!!! WHAT THE HECK! The guy was pleasant, knew what he was doing… BUT…I will not use them again.

At Thanksgiving one of my two 3 year old Meile dishwashers stopped working and registered a code indicating that the washing motor was malfunctioning. I waited a week for service. The technician was late and when he arrived pronounced, without looking at the machine, that I would need a new motor which would set me back, with installation, about $ 800. I was dumbfounded, paid him his $ 48.50 service fee, and tried to figure out whether to get a new dishwasher or go ahead with his «professional» recommendation.
I have since discovered, after having contacted Meile, that their machines use very little water and therefore need considerably less soap than other machines. He said that Meile motors are built to last 15 years and more and that the problem was probably a soap build up. He recommended that I run a cup full of vinegar through the machine to break down the soap residue. Total cost less than $ 1! He was absolutely correct in his diagnosis and the machine now works perfectly.
I am hoping that this technician has been let go for his cockiness, his complete lack of understanding of the machine and its requirements and for almost costing me the price of a new dishwasher.
Next time, try vinegar and then call the manufacturer directly.

From the moment I called to the technician leaving my home I was happy with friendliness, knowledge of equipment and speed in changing out the few parts needed to repair my dryer. I would have gone 5 stars but ouch $ 148.50 in labor costs for 30 minutes on the premises. I’m in the wrong business. =]

Sent them an after hours service request to repair a malfunctioning refrigerator. Their site says, «Repair requests made after 5 pm will be contacted between 7 and 9 am the next day.» Waited til 7:45a. the next day and no one answered. Called again at 9, again no one answered. Finally got a hold of someone around 9:30a., but the guy said their service lines were «all lit up,» and offered to take down my name and number and «someone will get back to me.» Someone did get back to me… six hours later to tell me that they were booked up until next week. Good for them, cuz I won’t be bothering with this company again.

The part of my job that I enjoy considerably less than others is facilities maintenance. When our office dishwasher started performing less than satisfactorily, I called for service on the long out of warranty appliance and South Bay Appliances dispatched a tech to come out right away. This was helpful as people can be inpatient when it comes down to getting things fixed.
The tech was thorough, explained what the problem was with the dishwasher (it wasn’t a mechanical issue) and told us how to prevent future problems and why we had any issues at all. Overall, from the initial call to us paying our invoice, they were quick, polite, thorough and efficient. I will definitely use them again if we experience other appliance issues.

I called South Bay Appliance because they were recommended by Jenn-​Air as one of their preferred service providers. I had a refrigerator that was leaking water and I couldn’t solve for it. So let me start by saying the people on the phone were extremely nice and helpful and the technician at the house, John, went above and beyond. He even called Jenn-​Air while at the house to make sure he had addressed all the issues with my specific model.
My 3 stars comes strictly directed to the owner and HIS lack of concern for my time. I booked a morning window from 9−1pm. So after staying home from work and canceling some meetings to make sure this ongoing problem would finally be fixed, I got a call at 8:40am informing me that they had shifted my window to 1−4pm. When asked why my appointment was arbitrarily moved, it was because I wasn’t near their other morning appointments and they determine the schedule in the morning! I always assumed that a window was developed so they could accommodate you and yet have flexibility!!! So basically a 45 minute fix led to me being stuck at the house most of day, canceling additional meetings all because they couldn’t call a day before… And he wasn’t willing to do anything to make me feel like they valued my time.
So definitely use them if you don’t mind potentially having to adjust your calendar to whatever is convenient for them!

I’ve used Unilocal a lot but have never written a review for anyone, this people deserved to be recognized for their costumer service and helpful advice, I went there to buy a part to fix my washer, turn out I was going to replace the wrong part (it was $ 106) they give me advice and recommended to buy a different part (for 50 bucks). they save me money, time and I want to take the time to thank them give them 5 stars!!!

Purchased my refrigerator 7 years ago from South Bay. 100% positive experience.
Now I needed a new washer. I did my research online and through Consumer Reports. The washer I wanted had a ‘call for best price’. Dave at South Bay answered my questions patiently and politely. I’m sure he has heard these questions over and over, yet still didn’t try to rush me off the phone.
When I went in person to purchase the washer, I was helped by Vincent… also very patient and polite. He even advised me of rebates I could get from the utilities (something I didn’t think about).
Two days later, two young guys showed up, on time and efficiently removed my old appliances. Both young men were very business like and friendly.
Overall a great experience. Next appliance purchase will once again be from South Bay Appliance.

Family owned and operated since 1929. This is still a small town mom and pop shop in it’s third generation of ownership.
They do appliance repairs, sales and installs. I like dealing with them over the box stores because I have had a relationship with them for over 20 years. They always know the part I need (even though it was all burned to hell), and if I get in over my head on trying to fix it myself they’ll bail me out with only a little ribbing.
Their selection of appliances may not be a big as the box stores, but they can get just about anything and their prices are competitive. Just remember that the big stores get different model numbers (even between big stores) so that you cannot shop around. You need to match features, not model numbers.
In the end, even if it did cost a little more, I’d gladly pay it for the personalized customer service!
