Skinny Minny’s Frozen Yogurt

Great local Yogurt shop with very friendly staff. My dogs get excited when they see us pulling up to it, they know they get their own bowls to chow down on-​& they LOVE IT!

This place is a damn joke! First impression: «Wtf?! This place looked like a weed shop turned into a frozen yogurt shop. Walked in, the place was dirty, out of place, paper napkins, spoons, and cups were all on the floor! It’s called cleaning. Get to it people! Checked their flavors but all I saw were hand written flavors such as «mango, strawberry, vanilla,» nothing special. About four machines with hand written flavors! What the bloody hell?

I went here and the toppings looked old and there was a fly in the granola. Also as soon as I got my yogurt it began to melt rapidly definitely not going back

I will admit, I wasn’t impressed when I parked. There is a for lease sign in the window and when I walked in only half the machines were working. I was really close to walking out when the worker convinced me to try the fruit swirl flavors. (Combination of strawberry and pineapple). She explained it is the dole mix, the same blend the tiki room in Disneyland uses and it really was! I love it. I appreciate the friendly staff and commend then on actually having fresh fruit. Many yogurt places display fruit that looks unappetizing. Skinny minnys fruit was delicious!
I would give them five stars, but that would set expectations too high. Four stars and A for effort. I will be back

I’ve been looking for something different other than the same old yogurt spots that everyone is use to. Then one night I was browsing through my social networks and I and found out about this spot through a friend who checked in here on FB. I was skeptical at first but heard about a new flavor and had to try it; I ended up having it and I loved the new pineapple flavor! Something different than the typical flavors. I was tired of being basic. Also, Easy to find parking and friendly staff. My new goto spot.

Delicious they had non dairy pineapple which is my favorite. so many topping to select. yummy. I ate this right before I went to the gym. lol
Con…pineapple is not always one the selection. maybe rarely on the selection.. Please add pineapple..

This is the only Froyo place near my house so we decided to check it out.
There were two guys working that night, busy watching the basketball game, and we complained that nearly every machine was empty and the ones that DO work were leaking, the guy simply said, «Sorry,» took our cups back and continued to watch the game.
I will never go back here again

We came and the pomegranate was watery so we had to redo our whole cup. There were flies in the fruit so we didn’t touch any if that. We will NOT be coming back here again.

Great frozen yogurt spot. I like the variety and the customer service. Cookies and Cream is that ish.

Just your standard fro-​yo place! Nothing bad, but nothing unique to speak of. About 10 flavors that you serve yourself and the usual assortment of toppings.

Extremely convenient and always delicious!
They have a frequent buyer stamp card as well!
There are so many toppings to choose from but I think my favorite has got to be Cap’n Crunch and crushed waffle cone with a couple of thin mints with my frozen yogurt!
They are open pretty late so you have plenty of time to get here after dinner.

What happened???
Seriously! What happened to the Skinny Minny’s that I remembered? My last experience here, had truly been a fond one. That being said, I was sorely disappointed with the establishment that I had once remembered to have decent prices, tasty flavors, & toppings.
As I walked in and looked around, I stopped for a minute and pondered if I had walked into a different yogurt shop, entirely.
Their prices went up, they had only about 4 – 5 flavors to choose from, and their toppings. looked sad, stale, and really, just unappetizing.
Take some well-​intended advice. Save your money and go elsewhere.
If you go west on Redondo Beach Blvd. ’til you see Hawthorne Blvd., make a left there, and keep going down Hawthorne until you see Torrance Blvd. In the plaza, next to the intersection of those two streets, you’ll find a Yogurtland. (and also a Pinkberry on the opposite side of the street, now that I recall) Yogurtland (or Pinkberry) will definitely give you more for your dollar and has many delicious flavors & toppings for your choosing pleasure.

Not too much to write about this joint. Seems like self-​serve frozen yogurt is the way to go these days. It’s almost as convenient as a laundry mat!
Skinny’s had all of the essential toppings and variety that I would expect from a frozen yogurt joint! The wife and I will hit it up after a delicious dinner at Lomelli’s. It’s pretty much mandatory!
Give it a try. You can come back and say thanks after you love it.

I was excited to come but I soon became very disappointed.
The place had a funky smell. It didn’t look very sanitary. When I was pouring the yogurt it would come out a little too melted. They didn’t have a variety of flavors. Just your typical chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and tart.
I was very disappointed with the plain tart. Had a funky taste.
They had a bunch of toppings, I’ll give you that. But, the berries and fruits had rotten spots. Yes, gross.
I should’ve just gone to Yogurtland. I wouldn’t recommend to come here.

Everyone’s previous Unilocal reviews almost halfway convinced me that this place wasn’t worth a try, but we were in Gardena, with no yogurt place nearby but Skinny Minny’s. We all hauled over there and the girl gave us a lot of sample cups which was awesome. Although they didn’t have THAT many flavors compared to yogurt chains like Pinkberry and Yogurtland, and they have pricier yogurt, it was pretty good! The atmosphere was really chill, yogurt didn’t melt after 5 seconds, and plenty of well-​kept toppings!
Will be back if I’m in the area again :)

DIY yogurt places are cool especially if you are on a diet — which unfortunately I am — being a big fan of the popular Yogurtland, Skinny Minny’s is super closer to my place and I saw on their web site all the non-​fat, low-​fat, no sugar added flavors, plus they offer sorbet. I love sorbet.
So imagine my disappointment when there’s not enough stations for all the amount of flavors that they offer. I’m more of a fruity yogurt person, so I look for refreshing flavors like pineapple, peach, mango, raspberry. I actually wanted raspberry and they were low on it, didn’t even squeeze out of the machine. Sad. But they did have pineapple and mango.
Other than that the topping station is clean, restaurant is clean, the lady working behind the counter was nice. Although the prices of 2 yogurts seemed a little bit ore pricey than the famous chain store.

The Yogurt here seems really watered down. Kind of like 2% milk watered down. The flavor isn’t really there either.
If you want good FroYo I would recommend Yogurtland or PinkBerry in Torrance. This place doesn’t cut it…

The format of self-​serve yogurt & toppings with pay-​by-​the-​ounce prices is fairly common these days. Skinny Minny’s Frozen Yogurt was «runnier» than I like my Fro-​Yo, however, the place was clean, the toppings were fresh, and the girl manning the scale was bubbly.
Waffle Cones are available for just a $ 1 extra, but even cooler is that they offer fresh Waffles (prepared in back upon order). Another cool feature that isn’t necessarily necessary is that each dispenser has 3 nozzles. One nozzle for both flavors and a middle nozzle to «mix’ them together.
It’s not really much different than doing it yourself, but I still chose the middle lever between Chocolate Yogurt and Peanut Butter Yogurt for a cool Peanut Butter Cup flavor. Sticking with this theme, I topped the fro-​yo with Peanuts, Chocolate Chips, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Puff Cereal. Olivia made some Banana and Taro concoction with plenty of Mochi and Waffle Cone bits.
With indoor & outdoor seats plus plenty of parking in the shopping center, Skinny Minny’s is a neighborly frozen yogurt dessert option when in or around Gardena.

Their big «NOW OPEN» sign drove me into Skinny Minny’s for some dessert. Once inside I couldn’t help but notice how busy the place was. I swear, in the time it took for me to select my froyo flavors and make my way down to the condiment bar, there were at least 10 people inside the shop.
The froyo selection is large, at least twelve different flavors to choose from. Plus they have a slurpee machine, in case you change your mind about getting some froyo. With this being said, nothing was extremely amazing. The froyo flavors were decent but the condiment bar was disappointing. A lot of the fruit looked like it had either been sitting out too long or it was just plain old. The mangos and strawberries were way to ripe for my taste. Customer service wasn’t great either. I didn’t get a «hi» or «thank you», I simply got a «that’s $ 5.23.»
Sadly, I’m not a fan of my local froyo shop.

The only froyo in gardena that I know of. 39 cents an ounce and 8 or 10 flavors. Typical toppers.
Sampled the bday cake flavor and it really tasted like cake. The wife is super happy about it being so close to home.
