Safelite AutoGlass

I had my windshield replaced recently. The technician was on time and very professional. It only took him an hour to complete the work and he clearly explained what I needed to do to ensure there would be no complications with the new windshield installation.

I wish I had as great an experience as so many of you all on here did but mine was the exact opposite.
I called Safelite because a small crack in my windshield turned into a very large one while spending some time with family. where my grandmother lives there is a gate that shares a parking lot with a Denny’s so I usually park my SUV in the back and walk in through that entrance. When I came out I noticed the crack and called to make an appointment but they were able to send someone right over. At this point I’m pretty happy with everything. The gentleman pulls up, tells me he’s going to give me a call when it is done, and that it shouldn’t take very long. I get a call roughly 45 minutes later with the gentleman asking me to come out to speak with him. My windshield is off, and is completely smashed in his cart, the sealer lining is hanging, and the guy walks up to me and says that he’s really sorry but he can’t put my windshield back. He said that because there was some rust (I’m talking about maybe an inch worth) that it wouldn’t be safe to put a new windshield on, and that I needed to have to towed somewhere until I get that fixed. Of course I’m pissed at this point because he has already refused to put a new windshield on, he’s destroyed my old one, and now he is packing up his stuff to leave, while I’m stuck with a totally exposed vehicle. We went back and forth about it and he called his manager, which of course resulted in him telling me the same thing, while at the same time apologizing but telling me there is nothing they can do. I ended up driving my truck to my parents’ house, which is roughly 3 miles away, parking it in their garage, and then calling my mechanic. My mechanic gets his glass guy to come out the next morning and his guy couldn’t believe Safelite did that. He agreed that, yes, it can break easier if there is a lot of rust, but what I had was barely noticeable.
I bought my truck used, and this was the first time I replaced the glass. The fact that they left me out there like that is wrong, and I for one will never do business with them EVER.

Jose was awesome. He was so incredibly helpful and went out of his way to make sure the experience was perfect. The previous owner of my car must have broken the rear view mirror on my BMW M3 and Jose was also able to fix that for me while reattaching to the new windshield. THANK YOU!!! I will 100%, without question use Safelight AutoGlass again in the future as a result of Jose’s hard work. Awesome. Absolutely awesome. Thank you.

I originally scheduled a mobile service but because it was raining that day they kept in contact with me throughout the morning and we ended up switching repair to the shop. The technician was waiting for me when I arrived, the price was adjusted, everything was explained and he completed the job in about an hour and a half. All were friendly, helpful young men!

Quick, easy, professional and excellent customer service. I brought my Mercedes Benz on a Saturday morning and I was in an out in about one hour. Drove to Palm Springs right away without any issues. It’s been two weeks and the car has been exposed to rain, wind, and the sun without any issues or defects.

Okay, just left the Gardena Safelite. I am a picky person & trusted my precious Porsche 911s Cab with Raul & Josh.
I knew going in that the 911 Cabs needed to have an installer familiar with this vehicle. I also realized that had I gone to Porsche dealer, they would have contracted work out, probably to Safelite!
I contacted Raul directly as Manager of this site. He was great! We talked about my concerns about my vehicle and we discussed bringing car in or having them come out.
Raul recommended I bring car in so he could have his most experienced guy, Josh work my car. That was a great decision. Josh was meticulous with my car & knew the car. I periodically peeked in to see how it was going. Josh never rushed and worked diligently.
I really felt this crew took great care of the cars there. Shop was clean, organized and professional. Waiting area was nice with coffee & water available.
I had a great experience with the Safelite Gardena site. Nobody likes to deal with having windshield’s replaced. But when it does happen I can recommend Raul & his Gardena crew. Well done Safelite Gardena!!!

Don’t let the people who answer the phones scare you away. They are a phone bank far, far away. The staff at this location are the best. If you get frustrated with the phones just stop by and you will be relieved. Excellent service, fair quotes (unlike the phone bank that changes with each person you call), and the result is perfect!

A Shout Out to Travis (Gardena: Safelight Mobile Technician). Highly Recommended, Very Professional and Efficient. Customer Service was Awesome and set me up with an appointment in a flash. Total Cost $ 217.33. Received updated detailed email service reminders, and a phone call from Travis before he arrived for repair. Hands Down 100% across the board.

Won’t be coming back here again, the rep ordered the working glass and now I have to wait another Week to replace my glass. This company and location have no curtesy of customer service and clearly don’t care about making the customer feel any better. All they do is point the finger back at the customer as if we are expected to know this. This is your area of expertise not mine. This is the reason I’m paying 500+ to replace my window because you are the experts. But I see your customer service lags that. This is becoming a huge inconvenience now it’s a total of 2 ½ weeks from the point that I originally booked by appointment. I wouldn’t recommend this location or company to anyone. And the manager here shows a huge lack of management, didn’t care and didn’t even offer anything to help me with the inconvenience.

Made an appointment through their website for a windshield repair home visit and was VERY satisfied with their service. The appointment was confirmed via text and email promptly. Reminders were sent the morning of the appointment (window was 8am-​1pm). Time of arrival was texted to me 30 minutes prior to the guy arriving. The service guy Paul was so kind and professional. He explained the procedure and how much time it would take (1.5hrs) and finished in the stated time. I would hire them again! The price was also reasonable. The entire windshield on my Toyota Sienna was replaced and looks great. They also tell you the earliest time when you can drive it after the repair. Five star!

On Monday my wife called me really bummed for breaking the rear window of 2012 Audi Q7. She was backing into a parking space in an underground garage. The back up sensors only sense at bumper level but garage duct work popped the glass before she could stop.
I asked her to let me call around and get a price to fix it. I called Audi Downtown LA and they said the glass was between $ 468 and $ 688, installation was $ 250 and it would take three days. I figured with the rental car it would be at least a grand.
I googled auto glass, went to the Safelite website and filled out a request online. I had an insurance identification card with the VIN (the website needed the VIN to get the right glass). I found out they could fix it at my location on Saturday. (No good, wife needs her car and we don’t want to pay for a rental that long.) They had an option to drive to a Safelite shop. I checked and at the shop they could fix it the next day (on Tuesday) for $ 548.41 including taxes and everything.
I called the number on the email confirmation because it said something about confirming your pick-​up time with the shop. They verified that they had the right glass for the car in their local supply and told me I could wait in the shop for the two hour process from 11:00am to 1:00pm. My wife took the car and everything went well. She said they kept her updated as the process went along. There was a window so you could watch them working on the car. There was a TV in the waiting area and free wifi. They were done right on time. Our insurance deductible is $ 500 so we didn’t bother with insurance. My wife had her car fixed within 24 hours after the catastrophe and I looked like a hero.

They were pretty fast in getting my windshield replaced, cleaned the front windows and vacuumed the front of the car. Which is great. But I’m noticing that the seals are not flushed up against the car. It looks too wide open. Not a huge deal BUT I don’t want it to be an issue later on. Also if you guys set up your appointment online, it’ll usually be cheaper than walking in.

I called on Thursday for a home visit. They said they couldn’t come till MONDAY! That seemed a little long for me. So, instead I drove w a broken back window to Gardena on the freeway. The lady on the phone told me I needed to be there by 11 am. So I got there at 9 am. The guy at the shop tells me I had a 8:00 appointment which was not true. So, he said ok then you will have to wait for all these people waiting. It might be 2 ½ to 3 hours! I couldn’t wait that long. Had planned on 60 to 90 min as they stated.
So I made an appointment for Tuesday which was the soonest they had. I had a 8 – 1:00 window and he got here at 12;30. Another waste of my time. He pulls out the glass and says it is the wrong glass. Then he tells me my car is a 2014 not a 2015 and that’s why it is the wrong glass. My car is definitely a 2015! Unless the car dealership lied to me. LOL
So, then he calls his boss and tells me they have to order the right glass and it will be a few more days. I am leaving to go out of town and CAN NOT wait a few more days! Then, he realizes that this is the right glass, but he didn’t know that you have to take off part of the car and slide it in.
I called LA auto car while he was here and they said they could get me a glass tomorrow morning. They were a little more expensive but I didn’t know that LA Auto has the real suburu window where safelite is not a dealer one. That’s why they are a little cheaper.
But I wanted the glass put in today so I let Victor do it. He ended up doing a good job and he was very nice to me the whole time even though I was very upset. I would give Victor a 4 star but not the company. Sorry Safelite!!!

Needed a windshield done and I had to set up an appointment to do it in my place so it happened. I was kinda unsure at first when talking to a rep over the phone that my car wouldn’t look the same as it was after putting a windshield. But I was amazingly surprised that after Salvador had finished installing the windshield, it looked like that nothing happened to it. It was a perfect 12 job well done. If I will have any glass issues I would come back and deal with safelite. It’s kinda pricy but you get what you paid for. KUDDOS!!!

This shop is professional, courteous, and prompt. I have had 3 windshields replacements and repairs here and this Safelite shop handled each of them consistently. I received confirmation calls and emails, when I arrive at my appointment they took my car in immediately and started work. The was done on time: under an hour. They had coffee, snacks, and cable TV in the waiting room. Everyone was kind and courteous. Raul Padilla the store manager was great and so was the rest of the staff. I wish I could name them all. I took my car in to have a tiny crack filled. My car previously had a small chip repaired 3 years ago. Can you believe they pulled my car in & without asking me where the chip was attempted to repair the previously repaired spot!?! They cracked my entire windshield!!! Had they asked me like a normal place would they could have prevented this. So I had to ride around for 2 days with a cracked windshield until they bring a replacement to my home. Oh yes they are paying for it. I’ll post another pic when they arrive today in about 15mins.
1 hour later & my window has been replaced. Thanks to Jerry I up the 1 star rating to 3. He was professional & took time to explain the process. Wow. Vacuuming out my car & cleaning my windows was a definite plus!!!

I vacillate between 4 & 5 starts, but I’m going to settle on a 4, with 5 star potential were it not for one problem.
I went through Safelite based on my All State insurance tie at $ 250. They quickly schedule an appointment and confirmed through e-​mail, and phone calls — very professional and modern approach to scheduling.
Where they lost a star, is that they wrongly accessed the front windshield I needed for my Audi Q7. It has various technology aspects that were required, and I was willing to take a picture, give them the serial number, whatever was necessary… because I was concerned that they might come with the wrong glass. Guess what, they came with the wrong glass.
My first appointment was Wednesday between 8am and 1pm, hallelujah, I got a call 20 minutes prior to their arrival, saying I was the 8am appointment (love it!), but, they came with the wrong glass, so by 8:10 our appointment was over.
I was reschedule to Thursday between 1pm and 5pm, hallelujah, I was the 1pm appointment (love it!), they again called me 20 minutes before arriving — with the correct glass this time.
My technician (installation specialist) was Paul. He was friendly, skilled, and very meticulous with his clean up after the job. I was interested in the process so I had various questions, which he patiently and professionally answered. His abilities easily passed my ‘eye test’ and his work was cautious and efficient, bottom line, he did a GREAT job! 90+ minutes later my car was back in good repair.
Aside from the wrong window diagnosis, which was an inconvenience, the work and final result was an A+. Thanks Paul, you were 5 stars all the way, which was the most important aspect to me.
