Rancho California Landscaping

Rancho is fantastic. They are very customer-​centric, friendly, professional and provide excellent service. Our HOA has contracted with them for 7 wonderful years. They are consistently good and always aim to please.

They do ok but…
They place plants were they won’t thrive, then they take them out and plant something else that doesn’t do well (in some areas, other areas look nice). They put together plants that result in the tall plants being on the outside edge of the planting and the lower ones on the inside… awkward. Those society garlic plants… do you want all your outside to smell like garlic? I suppose it keeps animals away… but…
Some of the planting is just senseless, like tall cypress trees planted under eves (they grow up dears) and in front of windows… now, what is the purpose of a window? Light, fresh air and view, right? with a tree planted right in front of it you get none of those things and you can’t even clean the window… they planted one against the bedroom that bangs against the building in the wind.
The workers seem to do a nice job but sometimes they walk about yelling to each other as if they were in an industrial park, not right outside out living room windows. They use those loud blowers that often blow debris from the exterior sidewalks to the patio (clean it again). I once saw a worker urinate on a trash can, I was impressed with how quickly and how heatedly the supervisor reacted when I called (though the people on the phone did not seem to take it seriously, sounded confused). Clearly the site supervisor expects decent behavior from his staff. They are very very professional in not playing loud music while working, nice to see they respect the residents in that also.
If I could rate them separately I’d give the workers a 4 or 4.5
and the landscapers… maybe 2?
