History

Established in 1970.

Manufactured Red Clay Pottery in Gardena CA until 1988.

Moved factory down to Tecate Baja Mexico to avoid shut down

from increased California Regulation business practices.

Direct importer from Italy since mid 1980’s with increased purchases

from China, Malaysia, Vietnam occurring in the 1990’s.

Started glazing our own line of pottery in 2003 and have made huge

strides in quality and colors possible.

We now offer over 25 different Glaze Colors!

With over 25 years experience in helping people get potted legally, and having traveled the world in search of unique and interesting shapes, sizes and styles for most homes and gardens. I find my job is one of wonder and amazement.

what we produce in our own unique line of pottery.

Our factory located in Tecate Baja Mexico produces some of the most beautiful and unique items and we take pride in the strides we have taken to offer items you will not find most anywhere else.

When doing our buying research, we take into account the wow factor and is this something not available in most chain stores?

Keeping track of over 1,000 regular stock items is a full time job and keeping the right amount of inventory on hand is what makes my job so exciting and rewarding!

Custom runs, overstocks, and factory 2nds keep our inventory fresh and is what keeps customers coming back to see what might be new and different.

I visited Pottery Mfg. & Distribution on Saturday, the selection was incredible. I had been looking for over a year (I went to at least 10 different stores and online) for large white ceramic exterior planting pots. Bingo! They had them and in all the sizes. My house is painted light gray with white doors and window frames. Gary helped me, he was awesome, kind and patient as I changed my mind at least three times on the design of my patio and the sizes and number of pots I should purchase. Gary got all the pots and saucers out and put them back numerous times while I made up my mind. Gary helped me by drawing what he thought would look best while my husband sat in the corner and waited. Shopping is not his thing. We drove up from Orange County and it was so worth it, the selection is incredible and I got 20% off. Gary also suggested risers to go under the pots and saucers so as not to stain my pavers. If you want pottery, look no further. The inventory is massive and you can’t beat their prices. I found what I wanted for 10% of the cost I was prepared to pay. A gem in hiding this palace is.

Love just walking around here. The 2nds are great value and you can compare to other places and realize what a great deal you get. Good deals can also be found on their pots that are not 2nds, those beat other prices too.
If a price isn’t clear the staff is very willing to help, just ask.
They can get the larger ones down for you and load your car. Very good service.

Hey this place is a-​ok!
Good deals compared to Home Depot but the product outside (the factory seconds, ie, discounts), are not labeled well. Why is this an issue? Well, the pots I was looking at are 18″ across and pretty big/​heavy.
In order to find out the price, some products were labeled in marker, some weren’t and it was a hassle. The customer service is far away and I didn’t see anyone attending to the outside area to ask questions.
I feel that it’s this way to get you to go inside and buy the more pricey ones. I mean, that’s fair, right? Still, it was annoying. It seems like you just can’t get a good discount unless you really work at it (I did!).
I also didn’t see carts anywhere and was lucky to be with a man who carried a super heavy item for me to the front.

This place it amazing for pots. They have a lot of different varieties and sizes. The prices are really low in comparison to places like Home Depot or Osh, and those Home store don’t have the varieties that Pottery Mfg have. The second chance pots outside have very small imperfections.

Wow! the largest collection of pots from several countries but mainly made in Mexico, China, & U.S. A great range of size, style, material, color, prices. Bargain seconds are outdoors. Since it was our first time, we spent an enjoyable 1.5 hours walking all the aisles.

It seems that every 5 or 10 years when I come here, I always fill up the back of my pickup, so come unloaded as there are lots of good deals. The only negative is they are a long way from where I live.

I’d seen the signs from the highway and finally decided to stop by. Overall, they have a great selection of pots and ceramics. Prices inside are pretty high… by my estimate even slightly higher than a Home Depot. Outside, however, factory seconds are a great deal. Just make sure to inspect everything you buy since these pots are on sale for a reason.

Outstanding business for your pottery needs. Large variety for nearly any design need; Indoors or out, big or small, and best of all, at wholesale prices.
I’m a repeat customer most of all because of the customer service. I rushed into the store 15 minutes before closing and the patience of the staff to allow me to come to a decision 30 minutes later was a pleasant surprise. Even more so when Gary offered & helped me unload my heavy purchase at my nearby residence free of charge.

We were looking for a long narrow pot to grow some watercress. We looked through the seconds and there was nothing that matched the dimensions we needed. I found a plastic pot inside that was absolutely perfect. The lady behind the counter, almost embarrassed, whispered to us «Oh, this plastic is $ 110.00 and the plastic saucer is another $ 30.00.» $ 140.00 for plastic, perhaps the most easily accessible commodity on the planet? Are you serious? So we hopped back in the car and got something even better at HomeDepot for about $ 15.00. I was told the plastic was «…guaranteed for 15 years.» I’ve had plastic for 45 years that had no guarantee.

I needed to buy some pots for my beach duplex that is architectural in design. I wanted something different, something you don’t find every day everywhere else. THIS was the place. So much inventory to choose from and very friendly staff. I highly recommend this place. Enrique, I will be back tomorrow for more. :) PS. the guy who loaded them did an excellent job of packing/​protecting them.

I went there to buy terracotta ceramic pots and their selection is great. The people there also helped me load about 100 bucks worth of pots. Some of the ceramic pots are cheaper than the big box stores but some aren’t due to Pottery Mfg’s large selection. Pots that look identical are actually from different countries so in order to find the cheapest and best quality pot you’ll have to look at their labels and the pricing on the shelves.
If you want over-​sized pots this is the place to get them. They have really massive pots for palm trees and such.
Being situated very close to a freeway overpass, there were hobos and hobo tents near Pottery Mfg. I’m guessing I wouldn’t want to go there when it’s close to getting dark.
The outdoor area has has pots that are chipped or slightly damaged and are sold at a discount.

Cool place. Can spend a lot of time in there. So many options and choices for pottery and good prices. I ended up getting a couple pots for my outdoor wall. I picked up 2 and think I paid $ 15 each. Happy with purchase and definitely plan a return trip here to pick up more pottery.

Hidden Pot Store. Good place to go if you know exactly what kind of pots you are looking for. I would recommend looking outside first at the «seconds,» then, if you do not see what you are looking for to go inside. The «seconds» (outside) are discounted and they have awesome deals (like 4 ceramic pots for $ 20). The «seconds» just might be in a not so popular color or have a chip or a crack in them. If you are not picky, then definitely go with the seconds.
As far as price, I think that the pots outside are the best deal, other than that the prices on the pots inside are pretty pricey.

Do you ever drive around Southern California on the way to do something else and come across a cool looking store next to the freeway and tell yourself, «That’s a place I’d like to visit someday.»? That same thing happened to me with Pottery Manufacturing & Distribution, Inc. AKA

It’s on the west side of the 110 freeway kind of near the 405 interchange in an industrial part of the town of Gardena you probably don’t even know about or how to get there unless you looked it up on a map. I know that’s what I had to do. Directions: 405N, exit Main St., turn right, go to Albertoni and turn left. Travel under the freeway then turn left onto Hoover and go to the end. Boom– you’re there.
Their store is absolutely chock full of pottery. POTTERY! It’s all either made from ceramic, clay or cement and they come in all different shapes and sizes. Some of it’s glazed so it’s already got a pretty finish, some of it’s not. They also carry a small selection of poly pots, too.
So say you’ve got a black thumb and you’re not into plants. Still, the store has things like bird baths, fountains, hose pots, animals and other decorations you could use in your flower beds and backyard.
I purchased a cobalt blue 4 tier strawberry planter here that will easily hold 14 plants and will be a beautiful addition to the other assorted containers on my patio. I’m a tough old broad, so I carried my find to the cashier, but don’t you worry — there are staff all over the place to help you move those heavy pots to the cashier and then load them into your vehicle. Check out their online catalog before you go.
