This place is great! The whole team is very talented and do an amazing job. Betty has great hands and leaves your hair looking beautiful after a hair cut (blow dry and styled). 20 $ for a hair cut and is very much worth it considering her work. I will rather pay a little more for her work than going to nenas down the street.

I totally recommend this place. Betty is the best stylist ever Anita is great as well I’ve been getting my hair done here for years I love it.

Just got my first cut here. I got a bad cut at another place and came here the next day for emergency hair repair. Saul was very friendly and efficient. I love the cut I got. I’d recommend this place and will definitely return. :)

I love this place. I’ve been cutting and styling my hair here for over 12 yrs. Betty is the best stylist! I don’t live close to this place but I do the drive because it’s worth it. I recommend this place. :)

I needed a haircut desperately! But didn’t want to pay too much… I somehow ended up at Mario’s, and decided to walk in. Saul cut my hair, knew exactly what I wanted! This was a couple of months ago and my hair is growing & healthy!!!

has anyone ever got their make up done at mario’s? if so, how was it, did you like it?

I’ve seen this salon transform from a small little cubicle (back in the day) to a bigger, stylish looking salon right on Gardena Blvd.
Mario/​Betty (the owner, hence the name), happens to be my uncles ex-​brother-​in law. I didn’t know him until I stepped into his salon for a last minute hair cut. And he’s really good at what he does! He’s very professional and friendly. Cut my hair in what seemed seconds and styled it to perfection. And all for $ 20. Everyone was complimenting my new hair-​do. So I started going there for cuts and a dye job.
Very friendly staff. Best time to go is during the week when business is not to busy. If you want Mario to do the job, make sure to call for an appointment, because he may be booked and you’ll have to get serviced by the other staff. But don’t worry, the staff is just as good, but Mario is the best. He has been in the business for 15+ years.

So my mom dragged me to this place. I asked for color, cut, and Mario-​Betty-​asked if I wanted highlights… I said, yeah, fine. It took FOREVER (three hours), and the highlights were done in a way I’ve never seen before, but the shop was BUSY the whole time (Saturday morning), and they did everything… men’s cuts, up-​dos, wedding-​dos, quincinieras, older women, older men, kids… everything! They even had some guys come in selling fruit to everyone. I did like the cut in the end… Mario has a good hand with scissors. And while I about flipped out with the highlights since I wasn’t sure what they would look like (it was much brighter than I thought it’d be), I like it now… it took a moment to get used to. But the chemicals they used to do the color were super harsh… I could feel my head burning… and they didn’t put any crème around the edges, so part of my forehead got colored too. As far as cost, total for cut, color, highlights was $ 125.00, so I guess that was reasonable. But if I went back to Creative Cuts, it’d probably be just a bit more, and I would have the ‘total’ salon experience and NOT have my head burned off! Not sure what I’ll do at this point… HAVE gotten some nice compliments on the hair…

Good Hair Salon. Betty Is very very nice. And is wonderful at cutting hair. Theres this other lady with curly hair that is really good at highlights and dieing hair. Its $ 20 for a hair cut but it is very well worth it.
