Love Letter Pizza & Chicken

I gave the place a three star because of the food I wasn’t in there long enough to judge the service because there was a sushi place next door I went to while they were making my pizza but on to the review I had ordered the sweet potato fries and a medium supreme pizza and honestly the fries weren’t that’s great I’m a big fan of sweet potato fries once I see that as an option I always go for them so I know my way around some sweet potato fries and these were below basic now on to the pizza first of all the size was very small for the price they shouldn’t call that a medium at all but I thought the flavor would make up for it and it was ok I enjoyed it but should have been cheaper the toppings were good the veggies were fresh first time I had bulgogi on a pizza I’d definitely do that again but I rather make it myself to save me some cash overall I say give it a try you may like it better everyone’s tastebuds are different would I recommend this place no I’ve had better for a better price will I be back not any time soon

Food here is good. I don’t have complaint about that. But wait time, just to go fried chicken is 50 minutes. Be prepared to wait while workers chat and laugh around. Don’t walk in to this place for a Togo order!!!

Finally went here after hearing my friend hype their popcorn chicken, salad, and radishes (oddly enough). Everything was great, but I believe my expectations were too high going in. The sweet n spicy sauce on the chicken was a little too strong for my liking, but still tasty. The bulgogi pizza was good but I couldn’t really taste any bulgogi… So I guess the bulgogi supreme (which comes with more bulgogi) is probably the better option. Our waiter was friendly, and refilled our salad twice, which was nice. For a Korean pizza place, this place gets the job done, no more no less.

Popcorn chicken with sauce was sooooo good. I highly recommend that. But the service sucks… asked for refilling water but the waitress was just chatting with her coworker and forgot us. And no one picked our money to cashier. Was it free?

First, gotta love korean fried chicken. Pair it with a korean style pizza and some Soju? Perfect combo. Satisfied, we were…
2 of us dudes shared the sweet potato pizza and chicken wing combo. We got half and half chicken wings with regular fried on one side and sweet chili on the other. The combo came with a salad which was shredded cabbage with a creamy mayo-​like dressing and sriracha on it. It was decent.
Sweet potato pizza: (5) Not too large but surprisingly filling. They put the cheese on top after all the toppings so it just looks like a bumpy cheese pizza. Bite into though and you’ll get all sorts of goodies. There’s obviously sweet potato which was pretty good. Also seemed like there was ham or something a little salty, grilled onions, and some other veggies in there. I liked it.
Regular fried wings: (3) Nice and crispy but could have used a little more salt or flavor. Seemed like it needed some dipping sauce to go with it. Texture was very nice though. Moist chicken and fried perfectly.
Sweet chili wings: (5) Tasty. Slight crisp to it but just a really good sweet chili glaze.
Overall, really good korean pub style wings and pizza in the south bay. Return, we will.

Been here a couple of times and both were enjoyable. Came here last night and tried one of the combos (sweet potato pizza and fried chicken) and some soju. Soju pairs well with fried food, especially chicken, and no disappointment yesterday. The pizza was decadent. In addition to the cheese, the pizza had pieces of ham and the sweet potato taste came through from the crust. We ordered two types of fried chicken, the original and sweet chili. The original was a bit bland, but the sweet chili had a good balance of sweet and spicy. For the original, I recommend Love Letter offer some type of dipping sauce.
Service was prompt and friendly. Ample number of TVs to watch games. On a Sat. night, decent crowds amplified the mood. Overall, solid Korean pub in the South Bay.

Korean pizza and fried chicken! I had my doubts about this place, but it turns out, this place is pretty good! Parking is in the lot on street level, or there is an underground parking structure. When my friend and I arrived at the restaurant, we were seated immediately at a booth. It took a while for someone to come take our order, but a baseball game was on, so we were kept entertained. They have a few large screen TVs throughout the restaurant, so it seems like a popular place on sports game nights.
They first bring out a small salad for the table. It’s topped with corn and dressing that has a slight zing to it. We ordered the Pizza and Chicken Combo Special #6, which comes with a Bulgogi Pizza and Popcorn Chicken. You can get the Popcorn Chicken with sauce – either mild, medium or hot. We chose the mild, and it wasn’t spicy but more on the sweet side. The outside of the chicken was slightly crispy. It was really good, and I’d definitely get it again! The Bulgogi Pizza came out last. It was tasty, but it could have used some more toppings. The pizza was cut into eight slices; it’s not a huge pizza, but it’s enough for two people. I’ll be back!

Best Korean style fried chicken you can find in LA!
Well, sort of because this place is in Gardena.
I’ve tried all other K-​style fried chicken but this is far the best.
I recommend dine in because by the time you take your chicken to go, outer part will get soggy no matter what.
You gotta take a bite out of that crispy chicken right out from the kitchen.
It’s crispy, juicy, and super hot all together.
If you’re into both crispy and spicy chicken, you might want to get the fried chicken and order the spicy sauce on the side to dip in.
You can do this for free of charge when you order combo meal.

This review is way over due. I had eaten here last year with a few friends. Pizza and chicken, now that’s a great combo!
We shared a Sweet Potato with gold crust pizza and ordered a basket of half spicy barbecue and regular chicken wings.
The pizza was really good! I loved the flavors of all the ingredients on it.
The chicken was good too. Of course a little more on the sweet side but flavor-​wise, very on point. I’d definitely order this again.
The décor is very modern and the servers were all very friendly.
Definitely a good place if you’re craving some pizzas or wings. I’d go back again!

My bf and I go from time to time and the chicken and pizza is always good. If your not into spicy choose the mild because even the medium spicy might be too spicy for you on the chicken. The chicken is so good and crunchy even with the sauce on. We like the sweet potato pizza. The staff is pretty attentive.

So we got here around 6pm and were seated right away. We ordered the gold crust bulgogi pizza and 6 pcs. buffalo wings. The wings were really good! The pizza was not as good as I was anticipating :(
First of all, you can’t really taste the bulgogi. I don’t think the other ingredients really compliment it either. I was really excited to try the sweet potato crust but the sweet potato tasted kinda old. I’ve never had sweet potato that tasted that way but my boyfriend said it didn’t taste bad so i really can’t say if it was really old or not. I really enjoyed the salad too! It was really good! I almost ate the whole thing lol.
The reason I’m giving this place 3 stars (actually 3.5 but you know how Unilocal works) is because the service was great! The wings were also good and the price wasn’t too bad. Star deducted for the old tasting sweet potato

It’s best to visit when they have their special combos for chicken and pizza and beer. =)
My favorite is sweet potato pizza with hot chicken wings. The side salad with corn that comes for free is refreshing and delicious!

After reading many reviews about this place, I decided to just try it for myself. I saw that here was BULGOGI on PIZZA so why not?!
Yeah that was the only thing I got. And I thought it was just okay. Don’t get me wrong it was good, but it wasn’t great enough as it sounded like. Everything on this pizza sounded like such a great combo! I couldn’t even taste that much of the bulgogi because the pieces were so small! They probably don’t put the cheese before the toppings since whenever I bit into it the whole cheese and toppings fell off. I think the pizza could also be a little bit crispier in my opinion. The dough on the bottom of the pizza was also pretty thin so that’s not bad. Less carbs.
I also paid $ 3 for the «gold crust» (yah I really did) which is just a sweet potato paste in the crust. CLEVER, but again… sounded good, but it wasn’t that great.
IF I were to come back again I’d probably still get the Bulgogi Pizza, with regular crust. I’d probably want to try the Sweet Potato Gold Pizza next since it seemed the most popular. I didn’t want to try that first because of the price. It also sucks you can’t get half and half on a pizza

So if you know me, you know I love chicken. Like I love meat in general, but chicken is the homie… that I like to eat. To be honest, there has been one or two times where I’ve been like… What the freak is this… Why is it not the chicken that I have come to know and love??? BUT 90% of the time I am so elated to eat here. Both the chicken and pizza here are more Korean style. I usually like to get the combo with the chicken and pizza. One of my favorite pizzas here is the bulgogi pizza, which tastes even better with some tabasco. As for chicken, you really can’t go wrong with any of the types. I usually like to do half/​half with two types: The extra crispy and the sweet & mild OR the hot & spicy. Tonight we ended up trying the corn cheese as well which was pretty good because the amount of cheese was plentiful. I heart cheese! Also, if you like alcohol they have beer and soju!
Oh and they give you salad as a starter which is delicious on its own as well.

I never really understood the hype of chicken, beer, and pizza until I came here. After my visit to Korea about 6 years ago, I noticed that chicken, beer, and pizza places were suddenly becoming immensely popular all throughout southern California. Mr. Pizza was the most popular one, but I heard great things about Love Letter as well-​especially the chicken. Thus, I was really excited when a Love Letter finally was made in the local Gardena.
First of all, this place is small but very family-​friendly. There are even curtains for each table if groups want privacy. The décor is also really cute with posters of a variety of popular movies, ranging from old ones to new ones. A huge TV also blasts the latest k-​pop music videos (for the kids and the younger ones).
I’ve had the regular fried chicken and korean style fried chicken as well as the sweet potato gold pizza. Nothing here has disappointed me yet so far! Everything is so good! Both types of chicken are immensely well cooked and juicy inside, but the sauce of the korean style fried chicken is phenomenal. It has a perfect blend of sweet and spicy, with a nice crunch of the fried-​ness. The sweet potato gold pizza is superb! The crust is amazing with warm potato stuffed within the crust, and it’s amazing addition to the savory rest of the pizza. I love the pickled radishes they give on the side as well, as they’re so refreshing and crunchy!
Service is a little slow but well worth the wait as the food is BOMB! I definitely recommend and am so delighted that Gardena has taken a new swing in slowly adding more and more Korean-​style restaurants!

I came here with the guy this weekend, and it was okay. I mean I seriously think that Pa-​Dak in Artesia has spoiled me! I don’t understand why their corn cheese is $ 6.99 here when it’s $ 5.99 in Artesia
I think the prices are a little more expensive here than it is at Pa-​Dak, but it was good
We ordered a medium size bulgogi pizza and it filled me up until… oh 8:00pm, in which I decided to have a hamburger, even though the day before I had a stomach ache after eating 2 burgers from In-​N-​Out
But that’s me a rebel to the max! Pizza was okay, we couldn’t really taste the bulgogi, but the corn, onion, and green onions were delicious
I think if we ever end up around the area, we might (big might) check this place out again, but for now, I’d have to say I still prefer Pa-​Dak

If Fried chicken wasn’t enough, mash it together with pizza and you’ll end up having one of the most bloated meals of all time.
This is not an average shakey’s or dominos. This place will stun you by the interesting style of pizzas they have. The first most I will say is that if you don’t have a palate for sweet things, I do not recommend coming here.
Why?
Get their sweet fried chicken and their amazing sweet potato pizza, then you’ll understand. The Fried chicken is absolutely glorious, with the juicy meat inside and sweet saucy crust on the outside. I’m getting tired of «HOT» wings, where all they do is dip the entire batch with tabasco sauce. This is definitely a change which will make you rethink about how wings should normally be.
Sweet potato pizza doesn’t need an introduction. The crust is thin and loaded with sweet potato chunks. Cheese is great but like most pizzas, too much cheese on a pizza destroys the flavor. Definitely something I can savor on for ages.
Go on and try this place, you won’t be disappointed.

I was reading about this place, but only after I did some research did I discover there are at least four locations in LA & OC. Love Letter Pizza & Chicken is located on Western, just North of Redondo Beach Blvd in the very Korean, Gardena Plaza in Gardena. They specialize in a Korean style pizza and fried chicken. You can order the Gold Crust that contains sweet potato mousse for an additional charge.
We ordered ½ dozen buffalo wings to start ($ 5.99÷6), and a medium bulgogi, bacon, onion, and corn pizza ($ 10.99). In addition, we upgraded to a gold crust that contains sweet potato mousse ($ 3 extra for medium, $ 4 extra for large). BTW, you receive an unmemorable complimentary salad w/​a french type of dressing, and Sriracha sauce.
To begin with, the wings were OK. They had a decent amount of meat & heat, but the sauce was garden variety: 3 Stars. Secondarily, the pizza was just OK too. I like the creativity of the sweet potato mousse in the crust. However, absent the foregoing, the pizza was very average. I don’t recall tasting the bulgogi, although the bacon was somewhat present. The topping that stood out the most was the corn, even though its not called a corn pizza. Lastly, the crust was not that tasty: 3 Stars.
Regarding the ambiance, it is OK. There is a large TV that is visible to some of the seats. There was also a TV above the cashier playing Korean soaps and KPop: 3 Stars. Following a consistent theme, the service was OK. The waitress was pleasant, but she forgot to tell the chef I wanted a gold crust. Not a deal killer, but it took a little more time. The foregoing was on top of the wings taking 20 min to arrive: 3 Stars.
I would have a hard time returning unless someone really wanted to go. The gold crust in the pizza is just not a compelling reason to come back for average food, and slow service.

Love Letter is a great place to hang out and drink beer casually with some friends. It’s located in the smaller Korean plaza a bit further away from the Redondo Beach/​Western intersection, so at night, it doesn’t get as much traction during the evening as it should. I actually prefer it that way because it doesn’t get too crowded, so if you’re looking for a chill place that serves great simple food and beer, this place is everything you want and more.
In my opinion, combo meals are always the way to go, but I’d recommend going with at least three people so that you don’t end up eating and drinking way too much. I love their sweet potato or bulgogi pizza, but they also have simpler choices for people that don’t like their exotic menu options. Also, you gotta get their wings! The spicier, the better!
If you come with more people, feel free to order some sides like corn cheese, fries, and fried mozzarella sticks to add some variety to it. A house salad with thousand island and mayo is always served complimentary, so you will definitely get your fill when you come here.

As a warning, popcorn chicken here is not really the standardized popcorn chicken. It doesn’t really have a layer of crispiness, but the chicken nonethless is pretty tasty. We got a spicy and mild mix and was pleasantly surprised by how savory it was.
The bulgogi pizza we got was nothing spectacular. It was fairly small and nothing about the pizza stood out unfortunately. I think bulgogi should stay in KBBQ and not be put on pizza.
Atmosphere was nice. Went with a group of about 12 people and were seated within about 15 minutes. Service was fine. I just wish their bulgogi pizza were a little better.
