The Los Angeles Samba Dancers specialize in authentic Brazilian style entertainment, bringing you the best in samba dancing, carnaval-​themed celebrations, Brazilian precision drumming, capoeira and more. Our dancers and entertainers would love to bring Brazil to life at your party or event.

You and your guests will be thrilled with our «Passistas» (Samba Dancers) and their beautiful, sequined bead and gemstone samba costumes that are adorned with blooming feathers in vibrant, tropical colors. Our Brazilian samba dancers perform authentically choreographed numbers to the pulsating beat of samba music. LA Samba Dancers can also choreograph songs of your choice and, at your request, we will include the «Bateria» (Live Brazilian Drumming Section) as part of your celebration.

The Los Angeles Samba Dancers are a specialized Brazilian Style Carnival Dance Company founded by Joany Macias.

Joany’s devotion to Samba started at an early age when she first admired the Brazilian Carnival «Passistas» (Samba Dancers) and this art form has taken her on many an exciting journey.

From parading the Sambadrome with the prestigious Salguiero Samba School during Rio’s Annual Carnival to being crowned «Queen of M.I.L.A.», (the first Samba School in the Los Angeles area), Joany has crossed continents and cultural barriers with her inspiring and spirited dance.

She has also had the pleasure to dance live onstage with many musical legends such as Sergio Mendez, Bebel Gilberto, Gilberto Gil, Wyclef Jean, Arehta Franklin and the LA Symphony Orchestra.
