In 2012 I began working with Helpmates. I was quickly placed at CSUDH for an advising position. My assignment last almost 4 years. The staff over this time was amazing. I received phones call often to check on my progress, email notifications of any changes, and they were always easy to get in contact with. A few days before my assignment ended some of the staff came to visit me at CSUDH with a gift and a card. If, anyone is thinking about seeking employment through staffing services, this is the company to go to.

Years ago, I came here to seek placement in a job. I was freshly out of the military, and was looking to transition to the civilian work force. I already had a bad experience with one staffing agency, so I decided to try this one. Fortunately, this one was more professional in their ways.
I filled out my application, handed them my resume, and waited a week until I got the call for placement.
I ended up working for a company in the south bay while I started college. I rarely spoke with the helpmates staff themselves, as I usually just worked with the onsite manager at the company. For two years I had an ok experience, but the position was eventually terminated as the company downsized.
The only thing that irked me about working for an agency is that they take a portion of your hourly wage. Granted, the pay was still good, but I prefer to be paid in full.
My time working with agencies came to an end as I progressed with college and took positions related to the medical field. But helpmates did help me transition into the civilian world, which I do appreciate. Aside from some disagreeable people that worked at the staffing office, I didn’t have much of a horrible experience as I did with other agencies.

Been with them for almost a year and everytime I call they claim that they are working on something for me, I have a good resume background so I know there’s something for me, horrible agency!

I would give 0 stars if I could. DO NOT SIGN UP with this temp agency if you care about your livlihood. This is a ghetto temp agency that lies about position titles, job descriptions, and salary information just to get YOU to work for them and make them $$$. Believe it. Have never been in a position where a company lied about what the job entailed. I think it’s Illegal actually?
Basically, this company does not help you in the longrun. It does not look out for employees best interest at heart. If you are looking for that, then sign up. If not, MOVE ON. I’d rather work at McDonald’s than represent this crappy company.

I stopped by on two different occasions and dropped off a resume. Apparently 15 years if experience did not even warrant a call from them. I found a job similar to what they recruit for on my own, so Helpmates was not much help. The receptionist the 2^nd visit was nice though.
