Country Kkokko~ gets 4 stars just for their rabbokki. Seriously, the best rabbokki I have ever had! Better than all the ones in ktown! For those unfamiliar, it’s a dish that consists of rice cakes, fish cakes, ramen noodle, and various vegetables. Even though I ask them to make it less spicy and the waitress diligently writes down my request, it’s always spicy to the point it BURNS. I’m not complaining though… cause it’s THATGOOD.

So we were looking for a place to eat late on a Sunday night after our friends shift and this was the closest location, little hole in the wall but the food was pretty good, I read that chicken was the best thing on the menu and it really was we also had the fried kimchi rice and it was really good, this place didn’t get a a five from me because the service was slow and I didn’t rank low because the server was alone, he did do a great job but couldn’t do a five star cause our last dish just took too long but OMG it was so good! So great place for late night drinks and bomb chicken!!!

Good chicken, good beer, good vibes. I’ve tried many Korean chicken places before and this place is nice to chill late at night with decent food. If you expect the best then go somewhere else. Just be chill/get buzzin.

My favorite korean bar food spot. It’s small and to the point. Lol. Their gizzards and fried chicken, delicious! The only thing they need to work on, is their bathroom… c’mon! It’s smelly… lol

Perfect place for late night to catch up over beer and fried chicken. Reasonably priced and usually not too crowded though they have their days. All the food items on the menu are pretty good and fairly priced. Service is good.

I have been looking for a place like HQ — a korean pub that used to be near near Shilla resturant– for awhile now. Accidently ran into this place while exiting the CVS next door. this is place pretty hidden… a good place for some nice chicken and beer. It is pretty small with about 8 to 10 tables for four but I am glad I found it. Overall, it is a decent chicken and beer place to socialize with friends. I will definitely be back whenever I need to hang with my korean buddies!

Very nice owner. Good Korean pub to stop by and grab some food and drinks. Not a place to meet people but awesome to just chill and kickback after a long day. Very quiet and dark with some Korean songs in the background.

Let me just begin by commenting that this place is extremely difficult to locate. I have no idea why they chose to place their sign on the side of the building as opposed to facing the road. The interior of the restaurant is definitely more upscale than the exterior; it was definitely a lot cleaner than I expected. We decided to go with both the roasted chicken and the spicy fried chicken. The roasted chicken ended up being a bit too dry for me; thank goodness for the beer. As a side note, the roasted chicken doesn’t have any breading, so it’s definitely a lighter option in that regard. Luckily, the spicy fried chicken was much better in both moistness of the meat and overall taste. They go pretty crazy with the sauce, so I’ve started asking them for the sauce on the side and just use it as a dipping sauce. Not only do you avoid messy fingers, but you also save some trees in the process. I’ve also noticed that the chicken is pretty amazing without the sauce; the seasoning they use is really tasty. Country Kkokko is definitely a cool place to just order a few pitchers and hang out with friends. It isn’t all that cheap, but it’s reasonable among most other places.

Price is a bit steep and food is not that great but it’s open late so it’s a good place to get a beer with friends after a night shift

Another korean pub. Dont expect their interior to be pretty or fancy because it is totally the opposite of what you have seen in Korean pubs/bars in LA. But its not the worst. They do have a great combo deals and great food. Their chicken is pretty well known and is definitely worth trying with cold draft beer. I also tried their fishcake soup and the portion is huge. I think its more than enough for 3 – 4 people because it was so much for only two of us that we took it home. Usually always plenty of parking though their private lot is extremely small. You can also street park. I noticed they are the busiest on thurs night and not as busy on the weekends asuming people going out to Koreatown for the weekend. If you order 2 items off the menu, they will also deliever within Gardena. Use that!

Came here right after some AYCE kbbq. The sign wasn’t lit so I didn’t even know where this place was. Small parking lot and somewhat small establishment. Prices seemed to be like every other place, although for some items, I thought it was a bit over priced. Surprisingly, this place was pretty packed for a thursday. Crowd was loud, but depending on the night, this place could be pretty chill to kick it and drink. –Goodfood.LA

It’s hard to find a place in Torrance or Gardena that opens late enough, especially after a night shift. This place has pretty good food and the servers are always really friendly! I put 4 stars only because most of the food seems overpriced but other than that, country kko kko is one of my faves.

Ended up at here looking for a late eats in Torrance area. It’s a Korean bar/dive, which means the décor seems to be a blast from the past, maybe from the 90’s. There are a few tables where people are just hanging out, eating, drinking, having fun. Obligatory background kpop, which I actually enjoy at Korean establishments. We ordered odeng-tang(fish cake soup), ddukbugkki, and soondae. None of the items were good, all mediocre and unremarkable. These are all basic staples at a Korean bar, so I’m surprised it was all meh. I do like that the soju, beer glasses and soju shot glasses were ice cold. I love ice cold glasses when drinking beer, and this place delivered. The first sip went down real nice. Noise level was medium, the crowd ranged from young 20’s to men in their 60’s. I don’t think I’ll be back… it just seems there should be a better option for Korean pubs in Gardena area. I’ll keep looking.

Wow, what a surprising find! We were in the area and wanted to grab some casual drinks with friends after dinner. I Unilocaled and found Country Kkokko nearby. There weren’t that many people since it was a Sunday late evening, but omg they had the best fried chicken wings and legs with the best spicy sauce… My bf liked it better than 3355 where people usually go for some chicken. It’s pricey, but they give great service! We ordered a lot of drinks and they gave us two free corn cheese and a free soju too! Service is kind of slow, but the server girl was very kind and took our constant ordering of drinks with a smile, which is very much appreciated. I’ll definitely be back to eat the chicken…

My favorite Fried Chicken Place. I love their sauce, but always ask for sauce on the side. Whenever my fiancé and I am craving for fried chicken and beer, we come here. But it can be very busy place and when they have long line, we just go somewhere else. lol Recently, this place is not busy as old days, but they are always ppl, so that’s good. The price is cheap compared to LA places, but their chicken and beer combo price is great! Their fried chicken is around $ 18, but when you order a combo during happy hour, they have a great deal. I admit that they have really good fried chicken :) with beers of course lol.

To start off, I’ve given this place many chances. I’ve been here many times years ago and service was better. But from the most recent times I’ve been here, service has been quite horrible. *The good* They always start you off with a sunny side up egg. Mmmm, my fav! Their beer cup/shot glasses are extremely ice cold, which is a big plus! :) *The bad* They are extremely slow at anything you request. Sometimes, always having to ask twice and I’ve only been here on a weekday/slow night. Over all, I give this place 3 stars. Not a place I would recommend but I probably will be back. Mainly because I am Korean and this is a Korean restaurant.

So from the moment I walked in, Country Kko Kko started off on the wrong foot. They have a clipboard with the names of those who are waiting to be seated. And on that clipboard, on top of that list, is the name of the restaurant – you know, so just in case we walk in and find ourselves at the wrong restaurant… …and apparently we walked into Contury Kko Kko. Contury… hmmm…( ) I thought this amusing and slightly annoying since they should be able to spell their own name correctly. How can you make such a noob mistake? But whatever. NEXT: the food. The food portions were large and quite tasty, on the most part. The rappokki was okay(ramen + dduk bokki) and the fried chicken was good. However, another type of chicken that a friend ordered was not so good. I was like, «WHAT is this…» They also serve us complimentary chips. Looks like nacho chips but has some flavor on it and I couldn’t stop eating it! My bad for lack of self control there. OH, but I forgot to mention… WEALL know that the first thing servers do is ask us about drinks, right? Well the servers at «Contury» Kko Kko didn’t even serve us water until we were close to finishing our dishes. WHATTHE… there’s people dehydrated here from all the saltiness and they bring us water at the brink of death. Wow. And the amount of water they gave us(to pour ourselves) wasn’t even enough for everyone. so 1⁄3 of the people were still left without water. WHATTHE!!! Come on, man! OVERALL: Decent food. Sucky service. Learn to spell your own restaurant name correctly. Don’t want to seem incompetent, namsang? Oh wait…

Allow me start by saying that, yes we all know that food from Korean bars are overpriced and generally not that great. But my friends had ensured me that this was the spot to get chicken and beers so I reluctantly followed. For starters, the one waitress was wearing a skirt that made me feel uncomfortable for her(I’ve waitressed long enough to know that there is no way in hell that chick was going to be able to run around without it flashing a cheek or two. So uncalled for). We were the first amongst 5 tables to sit in a booth and order out meals, the following parties sat nearly 10 mins after we had ordered. First strike: the waitress brings us the plate of chips she had originally taken to an empty booth next to us. The plate had been sitting there for about 10 mins or so but seriously, yeah it’s technically untouched but you couldn’t have even faked taking it to the back and bringing us a «fresh» plate? Come on. Second strike: They’re out of chicken. How are you out of chicken? It’s your main dish! So disappointing. Third strike: And the best for last… Literally. We ordered two dishes: wings and the spicy rice cake dish(ddukbookee). Somebody please explain to me how not only were we the last table to receive the wings, but we waited half an hour for a dish that never came. And to top it off, all of the other tables had ordered multiple(at least 3 – 5) dishes and they all were fully served and satisfied. Did I mention we were the first ones there? I’d also like to mention that if the girl had just simply admitted that she had either a) forgot to order it b) the kitchen lost it c) she herself ate it, we may have forgiven and forgotten. But no, she continuously gave us the time excuse«it’ll be ready in a min»… We waited nearly an hour for a dish that I know first hand only take 10 – 15 mins tops to make. Did I mention that it still never made it to the table? Pros: the chicken wing sauce was on point. Cons: whack does not begin to describe the table service. Conclusion: I won’t be going back anytime soon, at least not sober.
