Zennova Day Spa & Cosmetology

I use to go to Zennova all the time a couple of years ago, when it was still my face and after they changed names. I stopped because i had a couple of bad experiences.
I called on a Saturday at 4:12pm to make an appointment for 4 people at 6pm. The guy said he had a 6:30pm available for 4, I told him that was fine. I had to call him back because I realized I did not tell him that we wanted at least 3 females.
–At 4:45pm he called me saying that an appointment cancelled and that the 6pm is available, I said ok.
–At 5:12pm he called me again saying that one of the female masseuses would be late, and to come at 6:15 — 6:20pm if we all wanted to start together.
–We got there right at 6:15pm. Three of us started at 6:25pm, which made me question why he even moved our appointment to 6pm when the 6:30pm was only 5 minutes off from when we actually started.
My mom’s massage started at 6:40pm. She got a little agitated that her masseuse wasn’t there and was going to cancel her massage just as the lady came. When we left the masseuse that did my mom’s massage was leaving also, I think they called her in just for her massage.
Overall we all enjoyed are massages, and will probably be back.

For $ 20, this place isn’t so bad. I mean, you get what you pay for! Ask for Tony! I’ve tried almost all of the massage therapists and so far he’s my favorite!

I just had one of the best 60 minutes massages, I’ve ever had. For the rate of $ 40.00 an hour I’m going to try to more frequent here. my massuse Demi was amazing. For someone so tiny her hands were amazingly strong. And she was EXCELLENT in finding all my knots I didn’t even know I had. Very friendly and professional customer service and before you ask, no this is a legit day spa. Highly recommend this day spa.

I was referred to this spot by a friend of mine who raves about this place so I decided to trust her word and give it a shot and I was very pleased with the result. $ 20 for a full body one hour. BE WARNED: They ask you to take off your shirt! That’s the only thing that caught me off guard, but other than that, the process functioned like a normal massage place. I’m 6’0″ 240 lbs and I knew that was going to be a problem considering the masseur is a typically smaller than me. For me, the massage started off with a female to do head and neck and arms, but then it switched to a male to target the larger muscle groups in the legs and back and he was less gentle and more aggressive in his job than the female. I couldn’t help but listen to the struggle of tackling my back because he was breathing a bit harder. Either way, I felt good at the end. I worked out before I went there and after the massage, any soreness I had was gone.

I’ve been going there for years since it was under a different owner with a different name. Tom and Tony are my favs. There were a lot of good ones that gone and left. I don’t care for females. They talk too much. I had to ask a number of times for them to stop talking. Plus, one of the girls put on gloves which defeat the purpose of getting a massage. 98% of the time I stick with Tom or Tony unless we go as a group or they have only have females on duty. The females get weak as the time passes. It’s cheap so I tip 100%. It’s well worth it..

$ 40 for a 90 minute massage, you can’t beat that. Definitely get a private backroom massage, you’ll have your own space and can get undressed for your massage. There is relaxing music playing and its very clean and quite. I would stay clear of the facials… its so painful, I couldnt handle it.

My friends all seem to love this place however my experience was just above average, maybe im being a bit critical, my masseus was a little rough maybe ill come back and try another person next time. Other than that the establishment itself was very clean and modern, will update on my next visit when my friends drag me here again

I had good and bad experiences here at zennova out of the 3 years ive been going here. I therefore have experimented going to other places but i always find my way back here. You just have to unserstand not to expect 5 stars service at a place that charge so little. As a business owner myself i understand that problem firsthand. There are good and bad days but out of the bunch zennova remains one of the best

Despite the mixed reviews of this place i decided to give it a try and my experience was definitely good. Pretty straight forward asian massage parlor, good cheap massage except this one actually looks like they spent some extra money renovating the space. It is clean and professional for the price they charge

I am so sad to have to write such a horrible review because my husband and I have been very loyal customers of Zennova since the day they first opened their doors. When Zennova first started they were SO amazing, semi-​private rooms, comfortable leather beds and even better masseuses but for the past 6 – 7 months the quality of service has been horrible!!! And tonight solidified our decision that we are no longer going to be referring our friends and family not making any future trips to Zennova Spa. After a very long and busy week, my husband and I literally looked forward to our appointment at 7:30pm expecting a peaceful, QUIET, and relaxing decompressing body massage… what ended up happening was we UNFORTUNATELY got stuck with DEMI (husband’s masseuse). From the time Demi took us in until the very end of the massage she would not shut up!!! She kept talking and talking and yapping in Vietnamese and to make matters worse in his ear!!! I personally had another masseuse but because my bed was right next to my husband’s bed I was super irritated myself because DEMI would not stop talking and this wasn’t the first time either! I had previously came on my own and though she did a decent massage she was literally on her cell phone for 20 minutes just talking and then when she stopped talking on her cell phone she would laugh and make conversation with the other masseuses that would walk by. And it’s true, she will leave for 5 – 10 minutes to grab lord knows what and it’s like ‘what the hell did I even bother coming in and paying money when I can lay in bed for free at home?!’ Makes no sense to me! But let me end this review with a kicker, as soon as we are about to leave my husband (who seldomly complains) was SO unhappy, so irritated that we decided to talk to the front desk and complain about our experience and the lady at the front apologizes and does nothing! So we end up calling 10 minutes later asking to speak with the manager and guess who pretends to be the manager. DEMI!!! She was so unprofessional too talking on the phone so my husband says to hang up and we will just call tomorrow to speak to the real manager because we know it’s not Demi!

Massages here are cheap, great for the money I got an hour full body massage for 20 $ it is decorated nicely with great background music the front desk is nice and answer all of my questions

OMG, I love Tammy! I walked out of Zennova feeling amazing. All the tension I felt disappeared. If you like firm pressure on your massages and someone strong to knead your knots out, Tammy is your girl. She is highly skilled and does not shy away from putting pressure on. I highly recommend her.

Front desk gentleman was rude… I was asking if the spa had enough staff to start our group of 5 for an hour long massage at the same time so we could end together (sometimes they stagger the massage sessions for large groups due to low staff coverage)…dude got ignorant so we walked out and spent our $ 300 at Venus Spa instead. I love the abundance of Southern Calif spa competition that allows me to be a good olé’ American Capitalistic consumer. Buhyah!

This was the worst massage I have ever had. A man twice my size was doing my massage and Instead of massaging gently he was pretty much just rubbing my skin without any of the spa oils. Let’s me tell you how much an intense dry rub HURTS. It was miserable. Towards the end I laid face down on the table, I could hardly breathe with him pressing so hard with each stroke of my back and then to my surprise he put all his weight on me while his knees were wedged right into each butt cheek. I’ve been here before and never experienced anything like that. It was not enjoyable start to finish, I won’t be back.

I tried to redeem a coupon they offered on Unilocal and when I asked the lady at the front desk she seemed clueless and said the owner wasn’t there. Okay, fine. I don’t mind spending $ 20 (plus tip) for an almost full massage like I read on the reviews anyway. OH MY! I walked in having a bad say and left more than satisfied. I had Ruby give a 60 min massage and I felt like it wad a steal. I was skeptical about giving it a try but I personally enjoyed it

Went here with my boyfriend today for a relaxing massage. What I got, was anything but relaxing. the lady that I got was Demi. She started out massaging me extremely hard, when I had requested her to do soft. Then throughout the massage I noticed that she kept leaving, and sometimes left me laying there for 5 minutes at a time. While she was massaging my foot, I noticed that she was just holding onto it and not doing anything. That’s when I kept asking her why she’d stop. I felt like I paid to basically lay there. Afterwards she decided to put her knees onto my shoulder blades. I come here often, and they’ve never done that before. She put her entire body weight on me, and was basically sitting on my back.
I came in here to be relaxed, and she ruined my entire experience. To make things worse, she kept talking to everyone around her. All in all, I hated my massage today.

Myself and my whole family goes here! Only place I’ll go! I go weekly! Tammy is awesome!!! Highly recommend her! :)

Okay, not your typical long story but it feels good to get it out.
I’ve been coming here for YEARS, even when it was called My Face, before they changed owners. Normally everything is fantastic and we have had a 95% or so satisfaction rate with their services, which is great, until tonight.
We called ahead and I asked if Jenny was available as I love her massages. Unlike most people here, I always pay the extra and get a private room. We always buy coupons so its 2 for the room.
Jenny was out today, so Kim was assigned to me, and she is AWESOME. She even recognized the fact I hadn’t been by in a long time (been out of town working a lot) and said it was great to see me. Nice girl, knows how to read your back to figure out what needs what. I was in heaven. She worked my back for at least a good 40 – 45 minutes…
AND THEN… there was a knock at the door.
I’m still face down at this point so I can only hear Kim open the door and talk to someone. She then goes back to working on me, no problems. I’m low maintenance that way and the one interruption was no big deal.
5 or so minutes later, a knock again. Still face down I can only hear a few voices and then she starts working on me again…
…except…its DIFFERENT! And YES, they decided to switch out Kim with another lady!!! WTF? Dude!
To make matters worse, they didn’t say a word. The new lady, Ruby (I’ve had her before) just stepped in and continued the rest of my time like she was a freaking cafeteria lady filling in on the line.
Ruby finished and went on her way. I was dumbfounded. I got dressed and where I would normally find the masseuse waiting outside with tea, nothing.
When I went to the front counter though, Ruby was there as if waiting for a tip (in the usual way), and unfortunately Kim was no where to be seen.
I asked the front desk guy, who appeared to be heading home, (already known here as the guy with glasses who is not friendly}, WTF was going on? I was pissed but I kept my cool.
He apologized,
sort of.
It turns out that Kim had an appointment and was assigned to me on accident. (or so he says). So he pulled her out to send her to her new assignment. Nice.
I was stunned. Apparently to them its all a numbers game and they really don’t care if YOU care who gives your massage. And I’ve been a loyal customer for such a long time. The guy knows me very well. Nothing, no regard at all.
Worst of all they totally ruined what was an absolutely awesome hour with Kim. She essentially worked for free because I couldn’t tip her, and I was NOT going to tip Ruby for the stand in.
Ruby was all «super deep rub» on me, without any IDEA or CLUE of how she is making you feel. (for me anyway) Very robotic. grrrr
This has never happened to me anywhere, ever!

It most likely won’t happen to you, but call them on it if it does.

Holy shit! Just got a facial from hell. It hurt so bad and the lady kept telling me to suck it up and that pain equals beauty. I don’t suffer from acne but she insisted on digging my face with needles or perhaps a knife because that’s what I felt. I cried and she laughed. She told me to ice my face when I get home if it’s red. The last step, she put this cream on face and asked if it was cooling, but if felt more like burning. The only good thing was the free foot massage Unilocal offer because it was done by someone else. I left a tip for him but she probably kept it for herself.
I’m sure people who suffer from acne like this place but for someone like me who was looking for relaxation, this is not the place. It’s also in Little Saigon, I can hang with the best of fobs since I have some funny ones I call family, but this place was pretty fob-​ulous so just a heads up.

Full body massage for $ 20…can’t beat that. I like the soothing music. Décor is decent, not ghetto. The place is organized and clean. They use separate hot towels to clean your feet and back. They have curtains on every 2 beds which makes it more private for couples.
This day spa offers mani/​pedi $ 26, facial $ 30, body massage $ 20, private room body massage I think $ 25?, and other special treatments such as body scrub, acne, and much more.
I’ll definitely come back for mani/​pedi and facial before I bring my family and friends here. I took out 1 star because they didn’t keep the place quiet. They should have asked the customers to stay quiet before and after the massage. Other than that, I enjoyed the massage a lot.
