Love the owner. He laugh things off on awkward occasions here and there but has no bad intention behind anything. Good Food. Not the most sanitary restaurants like the ones in fancy buena park area where all the young ones visit but pretty clean. Not crowded all the time either. whenever I get sick, like SICKSICKSICK, I order to-go from the menu and the owner packs me small cup of korean style poridge to cheer me up sometimes. I always enjoy coming here. just try.

This place was good but not spectacular. There were no condiments on any of the table. You eat what you get and can’t flavor or spice up your meal on your own. They’re kinda stingy on the table napkins. You’re served a bottle of ice water. On the up side I thought the soft tofu soup was flavorful though somewhat bland. It’s not spicy as I’d thought at all. Their kim chi fried rice didn’t taste right. The pan fried beef was great and had the right flavoring. Luckily, we didn’t have any encounter with the dreaded«husband» owner of this place. Overall, it came out around $ 40 for two people w. some left overs to take home. We’d probably come back but not as much due to the menu being a bit pricey and the fear of running into the dreaded«husband»…LOL

YehWon is one of those rare mom and pop Korean places that have been around before Korean food was cool. This place has been consistent in providing great Korean style comfort food forever despite changing hands three times. Hot stone bibimbap has been my favorite since coming here as a kid. I’ve been told they have killer marinated spicy pork ribs, and that’s definitely something I’ll give a go when I have a chance. This place is definitely a great deal when it comes to drinking like a Korean — super cheap soju and beer prices. Perfect before doing some karaōke next door.

If you’re under 65, I would not recommend going here — you will not be treated like a human being. The owner(the husband) seems to think that he is much too good to be doing such menial tasks as serving people and it is VERY plain to see in how he treats people. But if you’re older than him, he may actually respond when you thank him or ask a question. Otherwise, don’t expect him to acknowledge you in anyway whatsoever. If you get a grunt, it means he’s willing to bear your presence for the moment. I don’t ever recall seeing an owner who had such disdain for his customers. for people wanting to give him business. I guess he doesn’t realize there are PLENTY of other options out there. I feel really bad for the wife, who seemed to have a much nicer demeanor. But unfortunately, she was working in the kitchen. And I don’t know if it’s because the service was so bad, but the food wasn’t all that great either. I would have enjoyed chomping on sand as much I enjoyed that meal… Never again…

If you come here: order the Kimchee jji gae, the Spicy Pork ribs and kalbi dol sutt bi bim bap to guarantee a good meal. The owner is quirky so I end up just picking up the food. Food is consistently delicious and I have been going here for over 15 years now.

Why doesn’t his place have a higher rating? I’m not sure, but I came here with my sister to shush her Korean food cravings. Again, I should really learn to listen to my sister’s suggestions more b/c Yeh Won is probably one of my favorite Korean restaurants in Garden Grove. It’s a small little restaurant in this huge Korean Supermarket plaza; there weren’t a lot of seats and it’s got a very cute mom-pop shop feel. I ordered a beef bibimbap and my sister ordered pork soon tofu. Their bibimbap was packed with vegetables/meat/rice and it came with this turnip/radish? soup that washed down everything nicely. The soon tofu was good too! They used chunks of pork and the tofu was silky/smooth and there was just enough heat(ordered the medium spicy). The banchan was really good too! Both of us couldn’t finish our food and we were still stuffed as bears! The total was around $ 20(including tip/tax) for the both of us. Not bad at all!!! After reading other reviews about the sometimes public scolding the son gets, I have a minor suggestion to the restaurant. We were sat next to the cash register/kitchen door and everyone in the family seemed to be scolding the son. My sister and I would get real quiet and just give each other awkward glances when the sister came and scolded the brother for working so slowly. We thought he was nice and gave him a nice tip — he made sure our water was refilled and our banchan too! So, yes, Yeh Won, please keep your family matters at home and let me eat in peace. But, definitely worth more trips in the future!

We were out in the GG area for some errands and wanted to eat around the area for dinner. Whenever I’m in this area, I always want to eat Vietnamese food, but the only Vietnamese food M will eat is Phở Tai and Spring Rolls. Quite frankly, I’m sick of Phở! Anyway, we decided to stick to something safe: Korean. Christy L. knows VERY well what I mean. ^_^ Yeh Won was the first restaurant that popped up on my Unilocal-dar so we decided to come here and eat. And guess what we ordered??? Yes! Mool Naengmyun & Ddukbbokki! The usual. Oh but this time, I ordered a combo naengmyun + galbi. PROS: — Banchans are delish! — Mool naengmyuns had a perfect amount of noodles. great portion for the hungry! — Ddukbbokki had a good kick of spice! — Water was refilled quickly upon request. — Yooksoo! CONS: — Galbi — this was juicy and sweet, but it had a lot of fat and barely any meat to chew. Maybe because it was part of a combo meal? Not sure. — Dad scolding son too much in front of customers. :( To the Owner Ajusshi: I know you want your son to work hard and all, but please don’t hurt him or yell at him while we are eating. It broke my heart to see that he’s already miserable being there. :’(Please appreciate the fact that he’s even helping you run the restaurant. Thanks!

One of my default places to go to when I want Korean food and a mixture of different types of food. Ive pretty much been here a million times and each time the service has been great. Yeh Won is a small Korean restaurant. I love all their side dishes and refills are always available upon request. The menu here ranges from all sorts of different things. From nengmyun to tofu to kbbq meat, they got it all. I loved their spicy tofu soup here. Forget going to BCD or waiting in line at Kaju Tofu when I can just get my fix here. I loved their Kim Chi Fried Rice!!! SODELICIOUS!!! Wish there was some seaweed to make it even better! Kalbi was delicious too. Some pork belly would be nice too. Maybe I can do a special request next time. Damn! Still need some more persuading? Look at my pics!

I went here with a muchacha. Ordered the food, they brought it to my table. Standard Korean family owned. Legit, & basic. –1 star for not having unlimited free ice cream
