I fell in love with this place after the very first visit. Not only the food was AWESOME with great gourmet-like presentation, but i happened to visit with my entire family; including babies n’ all and they completely managed to make us feel comfortable and took care of the little kids needs. FAMILYFRIENDLY. The service was superb and last but not least, the waitresses were really cute! I went personally and thanked all the staff. The evening ended with the chef walking us to the door giving us farewell and thanks. AMAZING. Cant wait to go back.

We have different levels of sushi places we frequent. Sometimes we go for the fast quick type place which is what this place was before the new owners. It was good before for rolls and teriyaki, now, it is has great sushi. The salmon toro and yellowtail toro are so nice and fatty. The seafood salad of imitation crab, scallops, and shrimp. It is one of my favorite salads. The rolls are all masterpieces. It is really some delicious and beautiful food. The owner is very nice and comes out and greets everyone. I highly recommend you give it a try!

ALERT! We live around the corner and frequent this place as it was always a good value. Tonight, we went in for dinner and noticed something had changed. New faces and menu. Seems that ownership has changed… UHOH? We put in our order and to our surprise the comp’d miso soup was better than usual. The seaweed was chunky and fresher. HMM? My wife’s $ 6 chicken bowl came with salad AND Cali roll and was so large she had to bring some of it home. Did I mention it was only $ 6? MMM? My Spicy Albacore roll was yummy and spicy tuna salad awesome. AHH. I cannot wait to go back! The food was great and our check was so little that I will be ordering beer with our next visit. YES! With so many cookie cutter sushi places opening up on every corner, it was so refreshing to find a new one that prides itself on the quality of their food. Welcome to the neighborhood and good luck!

This place used to be in Long Beach but moved over to a larger, nice location in Garden Grove. I always come at night near closing time but they’re always happy to accommodate me and though they sometime seem understaffed, the service and attitude of the employees are always positive. The quality and taste of the food is pretty average(but average in a decent/good way). Nothing too special or spectacular about taste here. Just good quality for a good price. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good, but not quite the place I would take someone one a date to. The interior of the restaurant is pretty nice, though, especially in comparison to the old one in Long Beach. Portions are normal, as well. I’d give this place 3 ½ stars for the price for quality, the friendliness in service, and also, of course, the free ice cream dessert.

Love combo is satisfying both on the appetite and the wallet. And the fact that they give you a bowl of miso, some edamame, and strawberry ice cream on the house are nice added bonuses. It’s generally quiet too, or at least it is when I’m there.

Wow, I was really impressed with this little place. I was in town for a conference and went out looking for a small, inexpensive place to eat – and, dare I say it, I was alone. I am not a fan of going to large places when I am solo. Anywho… I ordered the Chicken-Beef teriyaki plate – I really wanted to get some sushi but I shy’d away when I read a few comments about eating sushi in a non Japanese establishment. Good call – teriyaki seems to be their specialty and it was really good. The salad that was served with the meal was ok – I really enjoyed the ginger dressing. The server brought over some edamame while I was waiting for my order. Speaking of – the server was the only employee I saw and she was amazing – very friendly and helpful. When I was done she brought me my check and small bowl of pink ice cream. What a pleasant surprise. Overall, this place was great! I had a really good meal and even a beer all under $ 15!

After contemplating our dinner options during a post-rough-work day, me and my girlfriend decided to go the lazy route and order pick up. I found this place on Unilocal and it seemed decent and close enough. A glass of wine-in already, I was feeling zingy and wasn’t concerned with their lack on online menu and just picked up the phone. The female employee I spoke to walked me through some FOB and misunderstood recommendations but I was feeling as adventurous as I was hungry. I ended up ordering the Tempura Udon and my girl ended up getting the Ramen with Chicken. To top it off, I went along with something called the Ninja roll based on a serious craving for unagi and my fascination with mysterious and elusive Asian warriors. I wasn’t told a $ total but wasn’t all surprised either way when I had to even up. My Tempura Udon was tasty, the noodles satisfying and the broth a good flavor. The tempura was nothing spectacular, but was not soggy and kept together well. I wasn’t terribly impressed with the portions though. I’ve been know to put down large bowls of noodles and this didn’t even feel up half of their take out container. My girlfriend’s Ramen looked and tasted like Top Ramen. What was worse, was it wasn’t even chicken flavored. it was spicy which came as a surprise. The ninja roll did not disappoint, but didn’t really live up to it’s name. It failed to be a match for more traditional unagi rolls. Still, it was very tasty. Overall, I would go here again but with realistic expectations. If you are looking for an authentic Japanese cuisine experience, then you will be disappointed. If you’re looking to fill a quick Japanese food fix then this place is for you.

Sorry Chris, but this place just doesn’t do it for me. I guess I came here expecting pretty decent sushi/sashimi, but looks like I came here for the wrong intention. I noticed most of the stuff they sell here is teriyaki. There were couple other tables here while I was dining, but I noticed no one other than us were having sushi type of food. I guess there was a reason for that. Teriyaki looked pretty decent, but I wouldn’t know because I had sushi/sashimi. For sushi/sashimi I probably wouldn’t recommend this place nor come back for it. Also business must be pretty slow here. There is only one person in the kitchen working everything and one waitress working the whole restaurant. Service is somewhat fine, but food takes a long time.

I’ve ordered food to go numerous times before, but today I dined in for the very first time. I was pleasantly surprised by the free edemame, miso soup, and ice cream that came with my meal, which I never got with the to go orders. The lady that served us was superb. She was all by herself, serving 4 tables and about 5 to-go customers. Despite how busy it was, she kept up with our requests, refilled our drinks as soon as the glasses were empty, and did it all with a smile. Why doesnt the owner hire two servers? The lady(too bad I didnt catch her name) was great all by herself, but it’s too much for one person. I felt tired just watching her. The food tasted good and fresh. I dont really understand the people who rated the food sub-par…sushi is sushi. How many ways can it possibly taste?

Didn’t bring lunch to work and was craving sushi. Did a quick Unilocal search and Teriyaki N Roll I went. Greeted upon entering by a nice little Korean lady. Had a seat, ordered a couple of rolls and she brought out some edamame and miso soup. It was nice getting edamame and miso soup on the house. Some places have you order it and charge you, which is pretty lame I think. I got very basic albacore and tuna rolls. Both had a good amount of fish on the inside and a nice piece on the outside of the roll. Quality was pretty good and the price was definitely right. I noticed on all the tables they had low sodium soy sauce, which I think is good because we eat far too much salt as a country! This outing required me to do 2 things that I normally shy away from if I am by myself: 1. I don’t eat sushi at Korean owned and operated sushi places. Nothing against my Korean friends, I just prefer Japanese places typically. That being said, my order was pretty tasty. 2. I don’t usually order rolls when dining alone. I am more of a nigiri or sashimi person. Once again, I was happy with my order. They have a decent menu with many other options to choose from. The prices are quite reasonable, service is great, staff is friendly, and food was good. I will be back not only because they are relatively close to my office, but because the overall experience was a great one.

Sub-par food Had the udon crunchy roll combo. Udon was pretty much all noodles in such a bland soup. If I wanted tasteless udon I would of just gotten the instant kind at the supermarket :-( Crunchy rolls — me’h unmemorable, not bad enough for me to talk smack on but not good enough to highlight Free strawberry ice cream… that did make it better Overall –I’ll never come back — take your money elsewhere, this place is over price for the food quality — comparable to a sushi place in a mall food court

Sushi here is pretty decent. It was a lot better than what I expected. Interior is nice and clean. The one thing is that they don’t have a sushi Bar so everything is made in the back. Once you are seated, you get free edamame. We ordered the washington roll and I forgot the name of the second roll. It had Salmon on top with Spicy Tuna inside with shrimp. The rolls came out chilled and fresh. I liked the Salmon and Spicy Tuna. It was pretty good. We also ordered a Beef Ramen. The ramen was good but would be even better if it had eggs in it. That would make it perfect. For dessert we each got free Strawberry Ice Cream. It’s always good when it’s free LOL. Hint: Try some sushi rolls with Mango on them. That would bring me back to this place :)

I am still on the fence about Teriyaki n Roll. hence the 3 star rating. Pros(so far after one visit): –I had the Udon, and it was delicious, but how can you really screw that up. –They package to go orders very well, sometimes Japanese restaurants are not so smart about packaging and that is actually a big annoyance to me when you get home and food is somewhat ruined. –The prices are pretty good, nothing to write home about but good –It is in a great location where sushi places and Japanese restaurants are not too prominent, just a few in the immediate area. Cons –The menu is a bit confusing and irritating. They refer to the raw fish, sashimi style sushi, as sushi but all others as different terms so when you order they get confused with what you want. It is hard to explain but the fact that they only consider the sashimi as sushi is weird when they have combos that include rolls and if you use the word sushi at all they will get your order wrong. –The staff I dealt with was friendly but not too knowledgable about their own menu –The crunchy roll that I got was ordered without cucumber but guess what was in it? –Also regarding the crunchy roll, it was not really rolled at all and came apart in transit. It was loosely packed and therefore unedible really. It also didn’t taste too fresh. The avocado tasted warm and the tempura inside was soggy as well. I will most likely try this place again since one time is really not enough to grade someone. you have to give everything a second try.

Exactly as Timothy I. said: «fast-food» sushi made my koreans. It’s actually not a bad place, though the bf and I dined here and made out with a bill that was $ 40 on a random night when we thought we were getting fast food. We started with miso soup, which tasted pretty good. The nice lady also brought us some edamame. We ordered 2 rolls and a Yakitori noodle. The names of the rolls escape me now but one was very delicious and didn’t have the traditional seaweed wrap, it was the one with soy wrap. At the end of our meal she also gave us complimentary strawberry ice cream. It felt more like a sit-down restaurant with fast-food décor and fancy restaurant pricing.

Great place to go for a quick but filling lunch. I went with a friend about a week ago, and ordered the Beef Teriyaki & California Roll combo for about $ 8.50. Considering that it was a pretty large plate of food, I’ll take that as a bargain. Usually, I’m not much of a Japanese salad fan – unless I’m at Miyako(on Chapman & Brookhurst), but the salad was great and the food was cooked to perfection, or in the California Roll’s case, rolled to perfection. Dropped in around 2PM and stayed til about 3:30/4PM, and it wasn’t busy at all so it was definitely a piece of cake finding a seat. A few friends of mine rave about this place all the time, and when I finally went to eat there, I was definitely impressed. The service was great and the food was excellently prepared. Final summation: This place is great for a lunch date, even a dinner date. The food is on the cheaper side, and the place is very clean and trendy-looking. I would definitely come back. And I’ll definitely be raving about this place.

«fast-food» sushi made by koreans. :) number 1, i want to make it clear that sushi should be MORE common and not only a special event. this makes it cheaper and more competitive. i’m not saying i don’t like the ambiance of sushi restaurants that have expensive japanese art/decoration. i’m just saying that i want the option of paying less for sushi. so i generally bump up the ratings for places that offer something good for cheaper.(this is graded on the complete package, of course) number 2, i’ve spent time in korea and i know there’s a lot of sushi restaurants. koreans practically think they invented sushi so i have no problems if koreans make sushi. it’s a lot better than a liquor store so i say have at it. i’ve eaten a lot of sushi around the world on the company’s dime. i mean a lot! i know good sushi. and bad sushi for that matter. this is good-enough sushi. we generally get the simple/cheap sushis(cali rolls, shrimp tempura rolls, spicy tuna rolls, etc). we’ve gotten the combos too. i haven’t tried the interesting 7 layer sushis that are on their menus because i just wanted to try out their basics. the cali roll is ok. a little too much mayo for my taste. the other basic rolls are good too. just as good as a primo sushi spot. the service is really really good. we get free stuff during the meals all the time. let’s be realistic. this is a fast food sushi restaurant. don’t compare this to a fine dining sushi establishment. this place is clean, reasonably priced, great service, and good-enough sushi. i prefer sushi box in costa mesa because i LOVE their build-a-roll sushi, but this place is right around the corner from me so i want it to succeed. :)

got their 2 item combo; i chose the beef teriyaki and the gyozas; The beef teriyaki and Gyozas are A-OK. The store is very well decorated bright lights; colors and all. They had alot of rolls on the menu; My little brother got the crunch roll; i had a piece and i felt it was not that great. Gyozas were nothing out of the ordinary; but that doesnt mean their not good. Got our food to go. They were so nice; they gave us edamame to snack on while we were waiting for our food!

This place is a definite A-OK, 3.5 star rating. Stopped by this place after the company beer tasting day. It’s close to my home and resides where Pot Au Feu used to be. We were immediately seated and the wait staff was very attentive. I got a two-item combo platter that came with a salad, chicken teriyaki over rice, and a spicy tuna roll. The food was decent, though not stellar or memorable — but prices were decent and the service was great. They bring you ice cream at the end of your meal, which is a nice finishing touch. This place has potential — I’ll have to see how well it does.

Fairly good food. It’s better then the other places I have tried in the area. A bit expensive; however, Miso Soup and Edamame were served complementary as we sat. Also free ice-cream was served as desert. So in the end I guess it evens out in the end.
