Scanapix

We’ve used Scanapix twice so far and have been impressed each time.
At the last minute we decided to a slideshow for my parents’ anniversary party. My parents literally had a cardboard box worth of pictures to sort through and scan. The pictures were all different sizes and shapes too. Scanapix did a great job scanning them for us and quickly too. It would have taken us so long to do ourselves! We received our originals back 100% accounted for and in its original condition.
We used them again recently for my brother’s 40^th birthday. I gave Scanapix a stack of pictures and again they did a great job. I was able to make a 30 page 12×12 photo album through Shutterfly as his present. This is for a guy who can buy anything himself… and does! So needless to say, he is a very difficult person to shop for. When he opened his present, he was so touched and said this is really priceless to him. Yay for being an awesome sister!
We just did a little spring cleaning at my parents house and found some old pictures from my grandma who passed away. My mom was really sad because the photos had melted and stuck together. These were photos from my grandma’s childhood in the 1930’s — all gone.
I wish we knew about Scanapix when we were working on our wedding slideshow. We could have had it finished and done. Instead my husband was still working on it the day before our wedding.

This is my first time using any scanning service and I am quite pleased.

I had a bit of confusion on how to save to my computer (I know, your thinking how can she not know how to save to the computer! just me being a dip de do) anyways I sent a email and Scanapix responded in a very timely manner, and explained step by step what I needed to do. Scanapix scans your photos and converts them into a digital format that can be viewed and saved on your computer. We had a shoebox full of photos that needed to be scanned to create a slideshow for our upcoming wedding. It was one of those big ol plastic ones that would fit Shaq’s basketball shoes. So we decided to give Scanapix a try.
We were plesantly surprised to say the least. Within a week, we had recieved our photos in the original condition along with a couple of dvd’s– one with the full sized images and another with the photos resized for ease of uploading to the internet for blogs, facebook, myspace, etc., making it even possible for my mother who has a limited knowledge of computers to use.
And 25 cents a picture was a great deal! We had scanned a few photos at a photo shop a couple of months earlier and it was much more expensive.
Quality, Pricing, Customer Service, and Convenience all earn high marks.
The only negative has more to do with me– I wish I had given them more photos than what was contained in that shoebox. But dont worry, we’ll be back.

I found out about Scanapix through Unilocal so I tried their service and was very pleased with the work. You just mail your photos to them and they scan it for 25 cents each. They put it onto a cd and you don’t have to sit and worry about scanning each one. Pretty great idea really. Professional work!!! I am sending more pictures tomorrow! =)

I had the pleasure of trying out this service during the XMAS season. It was recommended by an acquaintance. I hate generic gifts so I decided to make a photo book for my family (
). I didnt want to waste my time scanning the old family photos so I used Scanapix service instead.

3. No janky home scanning machine. Their machine is professional quality.

Anyways, I would use them again in a heartbeat. Even with years of experienced in computer, I would rather pay them and save hours and days of work.

This was the perfect birthday gift for my mother 65^th birthday! Shes a HUGE camera person n I cant get her to switch to digital cameras. However, she FINALLY warmed up to the idea of a computer just recently so I got her a computer. We have TONS N TONS of pictures and so as a gift I decided to have all her pictures of us kids restored and put onto a CD. I also added pics from her teen years too! And holey shiet! It came perfect clear! The best part is … im the biggest procrastinator and I was really surprised how SUPER fast they got me all the pictures. I restored 10 photo albums! Its always a lil sketchy about online stuff but this was TOTALLY worth it! My mother now has a collection of digitized photos! Pretty soon I know shell have a library just for them! Next step is to show her photoshop… baby steps tho. Baby steps. Haha.
