Thank you Claire! The cake was really nice. The raspberry filling was awesome, the cake itself was delicious and it was so nice to have REAL cake rather than that stuff they pass off to all the non-foodies everywhere else. The buttercreme frosting was incredible too. so light and sugary goodness. Although we had a mild slip by the time it was served in the evening, that could have been due to me. It was very beautifully decorated. We all loved it. Thanks for whipping it up for me yesterday! And for the Unilocalers out there, be ready for something different than the box or store bought cakes. This bad boy was made with REAL butter and great sugar. Soo buttery, dense, and rich. Try this cake!

I cannot express the great, satisfied feeling I have towards this place, particularly Claire, enough. I live in ventura, an hour and 45 min away and called this place after days of searching. My great grandma, turning 90 was getting a huge party thrown for her by my family and I. She not only took my many calls and crazy expectations but exceeded my every expectation. The cake I asked for was a 90. Literally a 9 and a 0. And design on top. She not only did this for me but also decorated it according to my description and emailed examples. It was a GORGEOUS cake and not only that, it was the most delicious cake ever. And I don’t like cake. Not too sweet, perfectly moist and frosting was outstanding. I and my family were more than satisfied. I would recommend this pastry shop to anyone that wants reasonable pricing mixed with excellence in service topped with great delivery in all aspects of expectation.

I’ve never been to the actual location but they sell the cookies at the coffee carts at school. They are all perfectly soft, but not overly soft and has all natural ingredients that you can read from the sticker on the front. Did I mention that they are huge? Like the size of your face for only about $ 2! My favorites are snickerroodle and the oatmeal chocolate chip ones!

Never been to their actual location but the local coffee cart at school sells their hand size cookies for $ 2 and they’re pretty good for a between class break: D

So this review is late — a year late to be exact. But I would be remiss if I didn’t let other Unilocalers know about this gem of a bakery. I went to a birthday party a couple of years ago and had the BEST cake of my life. Since I was newly engaged I had to find out where this cake came from and when I found out it was Passionate Pastry in Garden Grove, I immediately called them up to make an appointment for a cake tasting. My fiancée and I met with Clare and had a great time at the tasting. We decided on our cake flavors(after tasting ALL the options at least once) and after looking at a few other places couldn’t believe the price… a great deal for the QUALITY. Clare personally delivered the cake exactly as promised to the wedding venue and it was a huge hit. I think I had 3 pieces and I noticed several other guests indulging a little extra as well. Being a bit of a foodie, with mostly foodie friends, I was elated by how well the cake was enjoyed by all. Today is our 1 year anniversary and we just had a couple slices of our cake topper we had frozen for a year and were quite surprised how well it held up. Honestly, not as good as our wedding day but surprisingly moist and flavorful for a year in the deep freeze! THANKSCLARE!!! P. S. This is more of a serious baking kitchen versus a nice little cake studio with fancy décor, etc.

This place makes the best cakes I have ever tasted, I have never been disappointed with them. Just a few weeks ago I had them make a birthday cake for my sons 4 year Birthday, it was a chocolate chip cake with fudge filling, it was to die for. The cake decorating is decent although I have seen better. Their prices are reasonable and I have had nothing but a good experience with passionate pastry.

Claire and her husband are awesome… Life savers! Thank you very much. I needed to come home with a birthday cake, and didn’t want to grab one from a grocery store. So with my Unilocal app, I found passionate pastries. I read great reviews on the place, so why not give it a try. Though I got lost finding it, they were nice enough to guide me to their location. Will come back again to order more. Grandma’s Cake= yummy!!!

Was desperate for a cake so I Unilocaled and found this hidden(in the WAYY back of the business buildings) gem. I felt like I was in the backroom of some kitchen, but it was their actual room for business and stuff. I guess I was expecting more of a bakery with a glass case and customers, but this location was mostly for production. Any way, I told the lady what I was looking for and she presented a small raspberry chocolate cake with a hard choco shell on the outside and choco mousse inside. It was a little out of my range, but I was running out of time and it did sound good so I just got it. I asked her to put«happy birthday» on the top, and it turned out ok, Nothing super fancy. I was all satisfied and on my way to the party when I realized the cake had shifted and slid around in the box and was now pressed up against the side(ruining the outside)!! And what was worse was the words had shifted as well(it was regular frosting on a gel glazed surface) and now looked like broken up squiggly lines of white frosting. They weren’t even letters, just a jumble of lines! My heart totally sank cuz I thought it was going to look so great… but as soon as I had a slice, I totally forgot about the mishap. This cake was so moist and the subtle raspberry with the chocolate mousse made it unforgettable. OMG I’m craving it now. One word to describe it? Decadent. Show passionate pastry café the lovin it deserves. :]]

I’ll give it an average rating now — I ‘ve been to the PPC when it was in Costa Mesa and it was okay then. I just want to warn people that the place is located in a business park — the very, very back of the business park. As such, they are closed on the weekends. To PPC(if you read this), the first time I went to your place, it was closed. Please post some business hours.

Claire is awesome! Here’s the story… my wife and I shop at the local Whole Foods in Santa Monica off of Wilshire. Anyhow, over the last holiday season, my wife picked up this wonderful passionfruit chocolate cake… YUM!!! The best cake I’ve had of recent… not TOO overbearingly sweet… it was just great. So for my daughters first birthday we wanted to celebrate with a nice cake and have my daughter have a mini-«taste.» So I contacted Whole Foods to see if I could get the place where they’re made… and they provided me with Passionate Pastry… and I had a wonderful conversation with the owner, Claire. She arranged the whole thing… got the cake delivered to Whole Foods in Santa Monica at the size we wanted. Needless to say, the birthday party was a hit… as was the cake! Claire, thanks for making my daughters 1st birthday memorable!!! And thanks for your FANTASTIC service! We’ll be coming back for years to come!

I had no idea what to expect when I tried their«Amazing Chocolate Chip» cookie – except that i wanted it to be amazing – and surprisingly, it was! o_o Easily one of the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever had, it was full of chips surrounded by fresh, soft batter that was not overly sweet like many other bakeries make ‘em.(Did that make sense? I feel like I can’t speak English today.) At only $ 1.75 a piece, it was a deal for something so «gourmet,» AND it was GINORMOUS!!!(6oz!) Next, I am going to try the Chocolate Fudge Brownie cookie! Wish me luck! ;) P. S. Hopefully, Unilocal changes this soon, but the address listed is wrong. Passion Pastry Café 12882 Valley View, #15 Garden Grove, CA92845
