Disgusted. I found a hair in my togo box this afternoon. Didn’t think anything of it and tried to convince myself that it was my hair!!! Welp, I just opened a box that was leftovers and found a dumpling with hair wrapped on the INSIDE. Intertwined in this dumpling. Appalled and never will come here again. FDA or health/food inspections should shit this place down. They clearly are not using hair nets.

We were so impressed with Furiwa at my cousin’s wedding that we knew they would be our top choice for catering our wedding in November 2015. Little did we know that Furiwa makes it incredibly easy because they work with select venues as well. The entire process, from proposal to day-of execution completely exceeded our expectations. Vivian was a blessing and anyone who has the opportunity of working with her will not regret putting their wedding day in her hands. She was beyond helpful, insightful and pretty much instrumental to our day, given that we were a pretty lowkey/clueless bride and groom. Wedding planning was a pain and I’ll never do it again, but if my husband decides we get to have an anniversary party, we would definitely use Furiwa again. Thank you so much, Vivian and the whole Furiwa team for making our day so flawless!

Came here for a birthday and it was completely empty, which made me feel iffy about this place. Surprisingly, the food wasn’t that bad. We ordered the $ 108 family dinner meal which included 6 dishes. Crab soup w/asparagus– it wasn’t bad but wasn’t good either. I think it needed a bit seasoning. Mongolian beef– we actually substituted out the house special pork chops and got this instead. It was a $ 3 charge which I didn’t understand? I looked at the individual prices and the beef was cheaper than the pork chops… BUT it was tasty. Kung pao chicken– I really liked this dish because they used chicken breast. I’m usually skeptical about going to Chinese restaurants because I know their food is loaded with oil/butter, so I was fairly happy with this dish. Bok choy with oyster sauce– typical, easy dish to make. Can’t mess this one up. Clams in basil– very good. Always hits the spot. Fish with ginger sauce– yummy!!! Fish tastes fresh and the sauce was spot on. What I like about this place is that they didn’t overdo it on the salt, msg, or butter. Our meal tasted pretty healthy wise compared to other places(Seafood Cove, Tang Cang). At the end of our meal, we also got some tofu dessert. Service is good, they checked up on us frequently and would trade out our dirty plates for new ones.

Pretty pricey for the quality of food. Came here for dim sum but it tasted like it was microwaved. Didn’t like the food but the service was pretty good though. The cart ladies were really nice and came around a lot. Unfortunately, I feel like the food had a lot of fillers. I’m feeling hungry again as I’m typing this review up.

Their phone numbers never work. Food is above average. Place is cleaner than other Chinese restaurants.

The house special lobster is finger licking good! You will never be disappointed by this amazing dish! The green beans were wonderfully crisp and garlicy. And I would recommend ordering the house special pork chops too. The restaurant is pretty big and can easily accommodate large parties. We came here with a group of 13 and were seated comfortably around a table. Family style is definitely the way to go here. Service isn’t the greatest sometimes but honestly, the food is so good that this is a minor issue. FYI — parking can be hard to find because the complex has so many popular restaurants.

Substandard dim sum place… You can do better at the same price point. Also, this plaza is a parking nightmare esp on weekends.

Place is decent. They have fallen off big time in my eyes. The bottom tier price for dim sum starts off at $ 3. The dim sum shrank alongside the rising price aka that’s always a problem. We came here exclusively for the shrimp rice paper rolls and lotus root rice. These dishes cost $ 4.50 a pop and shrank a solid 20%. With the shrimp rice paper dish, it usually had 3 pieces of shrimp in each roll. When we went, there was only 1 piece of shrimp! If I want to get robbed, I better see a gun.

Having 3 starving boys, we couldn’t wait 30+ minutes for Seafood Cove #2. We went to Furiwa because reviewers Unilocaled that there was no wait ANDITHASDIMSUMCARTS!!! Sure enough, we were seated promptly and the carts came rolling over. The staff was attentive and friendly. The dim sum selection was disappointingly limited unlike Seafood Cove and Chinese restaurants in Irvine. Unfortunately, I didn’t discover until it was too late that their dim sum prices were exorbitant. Dim sum prices start at $ 3.50 and go up to $ 6.50 for the shrimp wontons, which my sons wolfed down the most. I had a heart attack when the bill came…$ 98 for dim sum and an order of the combo fried rice!!!. Needless to say, we will not be returning. Oh geez, one reviewer Unilocaled that they were charged $ 6 for a pot of tea and another pointed out that there was a hidden surcharge of .50/person!!! Too bad I didn’t scrutinize my $ 98 bill – it is now obvious that Furiwa overcharged me and it hurts!!!

Food = Edible Good dish = Steamed fish with scallion and ginger. Be careful with your bill, especially if you are paying CASH. I went here with my family many times because my parents enjoyed the cheap lobster deals that they had a while back. At least three times, they overcharged us over $ 20 something. If I did not ask my mom to see the bill because I had uneasy feeling about it(which my mom reluctantly gave me), we would have walked out of there several times being ripped off. One occasion, my mom gave them a $ 100 bill, later they said it was a $ 50 bill something like that. I had some argument with the cashier and made them check their camera and cash register. Later visits after those bad experiences, I paid with credit card and made sure that I checked all my bills in detail. I do not recommend going here if you are elderly since they appear to take advantage of easy going and forgetful elderly seniors. Bring your children with you to help you check your bill. Unethical business.

To start off, the service isn’t really that good. We weren’t greeted and the staff just started at us for a good minute or so to finally seat us. The place wasn’t packed at all which confuses me on why the service so poor. We were probably checked up on once by the food carts. They were pretty inefficient considering the ladies were either checking up one area of the restaurant or leaving the cart somewhere and walking off. The manager only cared enough to actually check up on us. Food wise, the banh cuon and ha cao were really soft and soggy. It would literally fall apart once you tried to pick it up or barely put it in your mouth. It didn’t look as appetizing either. I would prefer the food over Kim Su only because I prefer having it super soft rather than chewy. I only wish there was more of a variety because everything looked old. Nevertheless, I think Seafood Cove #2 always satisfies. The only problem is the LONG lines. The quality is way better. Furiwa was a little more expensive too which was unfortunate. Sorry, but I won’t be back.

Lobster on a Thursday night? Sure! You don’t have to be Chinese or need a special occasion to enjoy tasty Chinese food at a restaurant. Feeling like superstars, we decided to come here on a week day night and pretty much had the Furiwa restaurant to ourselves. No one was there. How do these places stay in business we pondered. Maybe through Dim Sum on weekends, and hosting as a traditional Asian Wedding venue. What matters is the people you’re with. Table of 7. Ordered 5 pound lobster and the waiter presented the live crustacean on a tray, «That okay, you like?» We nodded in amazement. Of course we had to have veggies and other dishes for a party like this,(Orange rind chicken and broccoli, flash fried fish, stir fry long beans, and shrimp). Veggies were surprisingly tasty and tasted fresh. The fish was moist and well seasoned. Least favorite? Shrimp and chicken, which smelled fishy and over battered. Overall, food was good. Of course we didn’t know what ingredients were fresh in the kitchen, but it was well cooked. Service was on par. Waiters came to fill our water and took out any dirty dishes. They also gave us sweet tofu soup at the end. Total? About $ 150, $ 24 a person. It’s not a bad night for living like kings on a week day.

A-OK! I came here for dim sum with my family and there was no wait at all on a Sunday. Usually, I would be hesitant because dim sum is always packed on Sundays but I was pleasantly surprised by the food. They offered all the dim sum staples(har gow, sui mai, those shrimp wrapped in thin rice paper rolls… what are those called? Someone tell me!) and all were yummy and size of the dumplings were big. There aren’t many smaller tables though so our party of 5 had to sit in a large round table. The service was alright, those dim sum cart ladies can be a bit pushy but that is the same at most dim sum places. Such hustlers, lol! The parking situation here is horrible though and the food wasn’t amazing enough to make me want to return again soon although I wouldn’t object if someone suggested it. Overall, it’s an option if you’re craving dim sum but don’t want to deal with the wait.

We always see this restaurant when I go to boiling crab. I came here because I wasn’t going to wait almost 2 hours to eat shrimp so I gave this place a chance. I order the shrimp noodles and my girlfriend order beef and pork noodles. We loved it and definitely coming here again soon. There food and service was excellent.

Came here because it was the only dim sum place with no wait on Labor Day. BADIDEA. The shrimp tasted fake and the banh cuon there looked old. There’s still no good variety of fried foods and the cart lady was mean to us at first. Definitely not coming here again.

2.5 stars I heard good things about Furiwa so I brought a friend here. And I wish I hadn’t! Some of the dim sum tasted as if it were sitting out for awhile. Even tasted kinda sour!!! I will not be coming back here! The one good thing to coming here is seeing that they opened up a Boiling Point in the plaza! Thumbs up!!!

Where do you go for dim sum on Orange County when you’re too lazy to drive to Monterey? So far our go to spot has been this place. We typically arrive around 11am(always good to go during peak cart time — guaranteed fresh and hot!). Both times we went we were seated immediately. I don’t think there will ever be a wait. The banquet room is spacious and there are a ton of tables for both big parties and small. I always order the same dishes. I can’t wait to one day go with a large group so we can order more variety. We try to keep our order to $ 20 for a table of two because anything over $ 10 a person is expensive dim sum. Of the dishes ordered, here are my recommendations from absolute must order to worth it: Sui Mai — always a winner. I get the standard pork. I know they have a seafood one but I think the regular pork one is delicious enough. Shrimp rice rolls — so good. I use the premium soy sauce that comes with this dish to mix my concoction of chilli oil for dipping all my other dim sum dishes. Baked char Sui bun — always a delight. I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad one in my life. Xia gow — I’m not sure how to pronounce this in English. Essentially it’s the shrimp wrapped in light rice skin. Often in the same cart as the Sui Mai. Rice porridge — ask for extra green onions and spritz in the table pepper. Mmm mmm mmm! Service is speedy. Get prepared to repeat you don’t want anymore food as they try to name off every dish on the cart in hopes you will take more. I always wondered if the cart pushers make commission on how many items they can sell!

Two of my siblings have done their weddings here and they couldn’t be happy with the prices and the service. Furiwa also caters to a lot of hotels such as the hyatt, crown plaza, and water front hilton among other hotels. I believe they also own the villa and cater there as well. For both of my siblings we had about 30 – 35 tables for each wedding. We had about 2 – 3 tables unused so we end up just coming back to eat at a later time with the same menu that was chosen on the wedding day that was credited to us. The staff is very well dressed and one tip I have is that if you’re attending the wedding and your walking around a lot, it’s best to have your blazer on. I took my blazer off and was only wearing my vest so everyone thought i was one of the workers and kept asking for help! Never again.

Empty restaurant on Friday night. Not a good scene. We’re the third party that dining in there. Soon, we were the only party dining there. Feel like we’re having private party. The whole place for ourself. Foods are not bad and come pretty fast. But: NO beijing duck that night NO crabs that night They serve dim sum the whole time though. Service is quite slow which is weird, considering in the end, we’re the only party in the place(?) And since beginning there’s only 3 parties dining there(?)
