Ace Auto Tech

Even though I’ve moved to Irvine this is still one of the places I will drive back to get my car stuff done… I don’t trust anyone else!
I tell them what my concerns are and they will give me honest feedback about what needs to be done, and what I can wait on and or needs to be done immediately… they are always fast and courteous too!
I always feel at home here and wholeheartedly trust their opinions and expertise when it comes to my car. This is definitely a place I will always come back to whenever I need to get something done or looked at!

This place is awesome. I stumbled across this place originally just to get an oil change and began getting all my regular maintenance done here. I’ve been coming here for about a year now and the employees have always been very friendly and helpful. I’ve been to some shady mechanics before who would either be dishonest or take forever to fix a vehicle. This place is the opposite of all those horrible places… this place does exceptional work at a low cost very quickly. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family members.

Im always cautious and skeptical when it comes to any mechanic that I dont know. However I decided to give Ace Auto a try. They perform great quality oil changes that are cheap and speedy. Recently I needed work done on my Ford ranger due to a misfire. I specifically requested new sparkplugs and wires, however these guys did more than I asked and even spent several days of extra labor and replaced my fuel injector to try and fix the misfire. It turned out to be something else entirely and they not only gave me a new fuel injector but they discounted the original price of the plugs and wires. Paul and his Ace Auto shop is highly recommended. They will take care of you and will not cheat you on prices. 5 stars. Love these guys.

Ace auto was highly recommended by family members.
The reason for my visit was for an oil change and break pad replacement.
My first impressions were that they are Honest and highly experienced mechanics.

Even after my first review with a 5 star. The workers are not welcoming. I would think that Ace Auto would treat me a lot better when I come here pretty often, check in all the time, and I’m a pretty new customer. I started coming here for just oil changes. I got my brake pads replaced. Recently, I’ve had car issues. I’ve been coming here because I thought I trust this place. I came here to get my starter fixed. I got a rebuild starter and they fixed that day, which was nice. Right? When I went to go pick up my car, they found out something else was wrong. They said my stop light wasn’t working. Umm. I never had a problem with shifting my gear or anything like that. what the hell. I paid them to get that fixed as well. The sneaky part is they tell you the price of the part, but they don’t mention the labor part of the price. I thought that was the total price they were charging me. Usually when you mention a price that’s the total. Just make sure to always ask what the total is. Maybe that’s my fault. Idk. I paid and everything was supposedly fixed. Car would start and then it wouldn’t start. What is going on? I got my car towed to this auto shop 3 times! I guess three times the charm for this auto shop. I left my car here for two days and they couldn’t diagnose what was wrong. I get my car and leave the lot thinking my car is totally fine. I trusted their word. After driving on the freeway, I parked my car and went to my meeting that I had to attend for about 50 minutes. I try to start my car and ABSOLUTELY NO SOUND. The tow truck guy said it’s something with the starter. He was explaining to me when the car gets hot, then the car won’t click or start. How is it that Ace Auto couldn’t diagnose the problem? I wish they did a car diagnostic check or something. Everytime I pick up my car, something is wrong. Cmon dude. They were not happy that I kept coming back with car issues. They would sigh when I come in. If you guys fixed it the first time, then I wouldn’t come so often back to back. So effin annoying. I won’t be coming back, unless I’m coming back for a refund.

Got an oil change here, the man there was so polite, knew what he was doing, made me feel safe for making my choices and I felt great.

Ace does the job. I’m new to OC and have been coming to Ace for the past ⁴⁄₅ oil changes I’ve had. I’m glad I found this place.

My family has been a loyal customer here for a really long time. The owners are practically like family to us. I even remember coming here with my cousins when we were kids because my aunt would need her car serviced. Prices are VERY reasonable and service has always been great for us. They even have a waiting room for customers. Go here and look for Paul (the owner)! He’s honest and reliable. 5 star recommendation!

Quick, Easy & Inexpensive. Just $ 20 for an Oil Change (when you bring in the oil) and all it took was 10 mins

Really great service. Came in for an oil change and they did maintenance for the whole car (fluids, tires, etc). Very glad that I came because I was notified that I had a nail in tire and air filter was overdue for a change. They fixed it right up and total for the whole thing was $ 61. Very satisfied with my visit.

Honest, dependable, and clean family run business. Been coming here for several yrs now for my oil changes and tire repairs and have not been disappointed.

I’ve been coming here for about 20 years now for all of my car maintenance and fixes. The owner’s always been good and honest and the service has been good. Which is why I still come. I could rest assured he’d get everything done for me without worrying about whether I’d get ripped off or not. No BS and straight forward. He doesn’t try to up-​sell anything like the guys at those oil change chains shops (**** Lube, etc.) and just keep to the necessities. So if you want non-​standard or supposedly better parts or what not, just mention it to him. And having a separate and comfortable waiting area is always a plus.

Came in on my day off for a simple oil change for my 2003 Toyota Corolla. Usually I get fast and good service but last week the wife told me if I could come back in 3 hours. The service bays looked empty and her husband supposedly had other jobs to do. Not good service for something that would have took 15 to 20min tops. I will look elsewhere for my car maintenance needs.

Fast service and affordable prices. Paul had me in and out and was very straightforward with pricing.

Came in for a smog check. It was inexpensive and quick.
Five stars because my car decided to not start after the check and the front desk guy and his father spent quite a bit of time on my car trying to figure it out without charging me. Plus, they had a stuffed Pororo toy on a bookshelf in the waiting room. I love Pororo!
P. S. My car decided to start up about an hour later.

This is going to be my go to place for oil change from now on.
I’ve always gone to Honda World for every type of auto service and I love them and all but it gets to be too expensive for a starving student.
I was in an out in approximately 15 minutes as promised. They even had a clean and cozy waiting room with a heater and complimentary coffee station.

This is the only place I trust when it’s time to get my car serviced! They are honest and reliable, two qualities that are hard to find in this industry (from my experience). My family has taken cars to car dealers paying top dollar to have something malfunction again and in need of MORE repair. We took my mom’s troubled car in here ONCE and he called out everything that needed to be done. He managed to fix all the damages that were done prior to having the wrong people «fix it» and although it did take some time and extra money, my mom’s car never had a problem again. The work speaks for itself when you don’t have to bring the car in every few months. Thank you Ace Auto Tech for saving us money and most importantly our time! never wasting another minute taking our cars serviced anywhere else.

We took our car here after not being services for over a year :/​we were living overseas. They did an awesome job and for a decent price, it was just a long wait to get it back but we also dropped the car off last min. Did a complete check of the entire vehicle and complete oil change. They even let us know we had a nail in our tire and fixed it. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area.

Whenever it comes to auto repair and maintenance, I’m always extremely wary. I feel like honesty and good work are two things you don’t find commonly in that industry. But Ace is one of those rare places that I know I can trust, and I just won’t go anywhere else anymore.
I’ve come here a few times to replace my brakes, but they told me that I had a good amount left and that I should wait to replace them. They also checked a leaking oil pan and told me that I’m still under Hyundai’s powertrain warranty so I could get that fixed for free at the dealership. Another place I went to (won’t name them here) wanted to fix that for like $ 60, charge me $ 40 more than Ace for my brakes, and slip in a pricey upgrade to synthetic oil without telling me. Now, it may have been an honest mistake on the other place’s part, but oil pans are regularly covered under a manufacturer’s drivetrain warranty, so I feel like they probably knew but didn’t want to tell me. And trying to sneak in a synthetic oil change (they told me to sign a piece of paper, but when I looked at it they were charging like $ 65 for the oil change when I mentioned their $ 20 oil change deal before)? Terrible. Anyways, you’ll get none of that roundabout craziness at Ace Auto.
Plus, Ace’s prices are much lower than their competitors’ prices, by far. I’ve shopped around at a number of auto shops, and no matter where I go Ace can always beat their prices.
And yes, this is a Korean owned shop. I’m Korean, but I don’t speak Korean. I know, what a shame. But not being able to speak Korean isn’t a problem here. They have staff that speak fluent English.
I’m here right now to fix my front brakes and to get my oil changed. They told me that my tires also needed rotating, which is normally extra, but they just threw that in for me for no charge. Great customer service.
All in all, if you have any car maintenance needs, you need to come to Ace. They also have a nice waiting room area toward the back of the shop that’s pretty nice. Wifi, TV, 3 couches, water, coffee, and some random Korean magazines and such. :-)
