Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa

I’ve been here in the past and it hadn’t yet been memorable enough to review but today I had Sheryll for two services: Milk & Honey Body Glow and a Swedish Massage. She was wonderful!
The milk & honey scrub partnered very well with the massage afterwards (the milk moisturizing lotion was used during the massage), and even with the break inbetween to shower off the scrub, it was completely relaxing and Sheryll was terrific! During the massage she used a firm pressure that was effective yet still comfortable.
The reason I didn’t give five stars is because of the facilities. I arrived early to shower off beforehand, I was a little disappointed with the lack of products offered. Upgrading the body wash, and making some dry shampoo and other refreshers available would go a long way to improving the ambience. Additionally my locker wouldn’t actually lock so I had to switch around to a few to find one that did.
Overall I’ll be back and requesting Sheryll!

If I could give this place no stars I would. I had a full body deep massage and a facial and extraction 10 days ago and my lips and eyes have been blistered since. I emailed corporate AND spoke to someone and never heard back. They told me they would review what they could to get me my money back. I have been out of work for days and the burns on my lips and eyelids are horrible. I am in a lot of pain and nobody seemed to care at the Red Door Spa. Burns and blisters with NO allergies is very strange. Nobody cared to get back to me. I will never come here. Not to mention, when I did get there the person at the desk gave me an attitude. She did not show me how to use the lockers and when I asked for water she said here’s a cup we don’t have water left you can use the bathroom sink. This place is poorly ran and it shows since I never heard back from a horrible blister I have had for 10 days. Even after going to the doctor it is not better.

I have been coming here for years, and it has been decreasing in quality with each visit. On the most recent visit, we (my mother and I) arrived 15 minutes early as requested, and my mother’s technician was TWENTY minutes late. She simply said «sorry I’m a few minutes late» and then stiffed her five minutes at the end. Mine was 10 minutes late. Very unprofessional behavior when we are paying $ 150 for a massage and about the same for signature facials.
The staff at the front are all very polite but leave a LOT to be desired in the brains/​math department. They were incapable of checking us out and applying series for facials (like credits), and after a 20 minute wait insisted that we leave and they would sort it out since they have our amex info. Come home to of course find that they charged us for one service twice, and have now been on the phone all morning trying to sort it out. They are utterly useless.
Lastly, the prices for all of the services only continue to go up and really do not reflect their value. Save yourself the headache of their inability to check you in/​out correctly and go somewhere worth your time and money.

I experienced my very first facial at this facility (the standard Arden facial); I arrived early as requested. I let the folks behind the counter know it was my first time at the Red Door Spa. There as no warm greeting and rather rushed as the young lady walked me to the changing room and showed me the waiting room. She never offered to answer any questions I might have, breezed through the locker room and promptly left. The locker room was small and very tight; I can’t understand why there aren’t more lockers in there. I had to wait to for others to finish dressing before I could even get in front of my locker. Not very soothing at all. I changed and sat for about 10 mins in the waiting area. The carpet seemed dingy, the room was noisy with other guests chattering and employees making coffee using the Keurig machine nearby. I waited until my «therapist» finally came out to take me to the room. She began the session with a hard up-​sell from the standard facial to the the $ 130 and beyond ($ 200). I let her know that this was my first time there and it was a gift from a friend so I wanted to get an initial impression of the place (not impressed at that point). She was abrupt once I told her ‘no’ to the more expensive treatment and proceeded to explain how unsatisfying the standard facial (which costs $ 85 btw) would be (no scrub, no extraction, on and on). I let her know that was fine and as I am getting some laser hair removal treatments on my face at this time, I was not comfortable with doing any abrasive treatments without speaking to that specialist first. She proceeded with the facial. I honestly spent more time sleeping than having any experience with the facial person. She spent seconds– I kid not– SECONDS exfoliating me face with the scrub. The steam was on the entire time but I am not sure why; she then put on lotion to massage my face, upper body and the most brief hand massage. This was probably the most relaxing part of the entire event. Finally, she put on one last mask and left the room. Once it was time, she returned to wipe off the mask and put on some serums, which she of course then tried to sell me, and it was over. She walked me out, got me water and I changed, paid, left and received no further offers from the front desk to «please return» or hoped that I may have «enjoyed my first time at the spa»…nothing. In total I was happy that this whole experience was on someone else’s dime because I will never be returning. The entire experience was way below expectations of how I wanted to feel when I walk into an Elizabeth Arden spa. When I looked into the changing room mirror, I still had traces of my eye makeup on my under eyes…“what did that woman do?”, I wondered! No thanks and maybe the other services are better, but I will not be back to find out.

I have been coming to this spa for the past year and half only for facials and my experiences have been great during the facials! Front desk could use some help especially during checkout as the process usually requires 1 girl not knowing how to check out and asking for assistance and they are slightly unorganized as I received 4 calls about the same appt I had. However my aesthetician Valentina is lovely! She is very helpful and her skin analysis is excellent. The facials are always great and I definitely see the difference in my skin. They offer a complimentary make up refresher afterwards, however that is a complete joke. Normally not someone who is picky at all however the lady Josephine was in charge of doing a make up refresher on my mom and I and it was horrible she didn’t actually apply anything; some shadow that wasn’t visible and some nude lip gloss that was sticky and I couldn’t even tell the difference in what she did. For someone who knows how to do make up especially, that lady should not be in charge. She kept saying oh this is perfect it’s light and sweet but it actually was nothing. Not sure if this is because it was almost closing time or what but that dept def needs some help. when we came to check out the front desk handed me an envelope for gratuity for the make up which in my opinion I did not want to give at all because it was horrible however my mom being the nice lady she is still gave her a nice chunk. The place is very clean and Valentina are great so I will def stick to my facials here however I will bring my own make up afterwards.

Yesterday I was contacted by Katherine, a manager at the spa, to discuss my experience. She couldn’t have been more professional or apologetic for what I encountered. She assured me that this is not a typical experience at the spa and offered me both a gift card and a discount on a robe to come back and give them another try. I felt like she really listed to me and would act on the feedback. I’m looking forward to giving them another try. I will update again after. Hopefully then I can give them a 5 star rating.

Paradise in garden city. I discovered this day spa purely by coincidence. its the perfect «hotel type» spa sans sauna/​steam/​whirlpool but everything else perfectly coordinated to leave you shiny brand new.
I went with 2 of my daughters and we were treated like royalty plus we had the luck that the services we wanted to add on were available for the 3 of us all at once.
So we did Signature facials which last an hour and are pure bliss. Then we ordered our spa lunch and slipped on to get our hair did in record time. We then slipped into the cushy velvety seats to enjoy salads and wraps freshly made and light.
They are part of spa week so take advantage of discounted rates.
Membership is a good deal too

Spoke with management later that day and they did the right thing by accommodating me with a complimentary massage. Hoping they will provide the full 50 minutes next time as opposed to 30 minutes.

I can never get enough of this place. This will always be my number 1 massage place. The staff members are friendly and every time I leave here I always feel refreshed and rejuvenated.

What an absolute JOKE this place has become! I’ve been coming to the salon for years. I live in Manhattan now, but I’d still come out to visit and I always make a point to visit the salon and see my regulars. I had made an appointment several days in advance of my arrival and got a call the night before asking me if I could move my appointment I half an hour. I informed them that I could not because I don’t even live out here and I am on a tight schedule. They were totally unaccommodating, I spoke to some woman on the phone that sounded like a 12 –year-​old girl, less than half a brain, but that seems to be the trend now they’re at the spa, a bunch of children running it.
Needless to say the appointment got canceled, and my day completely screwed up. I’m sort of getting sick and tired of this salon…

Let me give you a quick rundown of this Red Door location; it is clean and the staff is friendly. There are fully equipped showers and lockers are available for use. The relaxation room has coffee, tea, and flavored water. I received a hot stone massage that was fine– nothing outstanding or bad. My main complaint is that there were no «spa» amenities such as a sauna, steam room, or whirl pool. I was very disappointed when I found this out. When I go to a day spa, I expect these features. If you are looking for a treatment and don’t plan on sticking around, this location is for you. However, I will be visiting the new Garden City Hotel location in the future, which claims to have these amenities. Also, be prepared to valet park your car. The parking lot was full and I heard that this is often the case.

Celebrated an anniversary here and it was absolutely relaxing! I would recommend a day here for all! My boyfriend and I got couples massages and it put us to sleep. Wish I remembered there names. You feel the calmness as soon as you walk in. The changing rooms and showers are clean. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are filled with relaxing aromas. For couples def recommend a couples massage. Make sure you make reservations and get there early ! They get booked very quickly, and don’t want to risk them cutting into your massage time!

Had a spa day with some friends recently and we all had a great experience. We settled on 50 minute Signature massages and the Time Saver Facial. We had a great experience, we each had fantastic people assigned to us. We loved the relaxation area and the rooms smelled incredible. Everyone was so friendly, we didn’t get the snobby experience that some others received. We were treated rather royally.

Don’t believe the hype — this place is overpriced (RIDICULOUS) and the service is inconsistent. Maybe it’s just this location but this is not the Red Door Spa I typically know of and has such a great reputation. I’ve been here a few times for a massage and a pedi thinking everyone I go that it will be magnificent and as glorious as others make it out to be. Unfortunately it’s a let down.

So far I have been to this spa twice during spa week.
My first visit about a year ago was horrible and resulted in me not being serviced because they simply forgot I was there. After waiting for almost a hour after my appointment I simply changed my clothes and left. But not before complaining.
I was hesistant to return but when I got a call from them saying that they could accomodate me for spa week this year I jumped on it. I was scheduled for both a facial and stress melter service.
Once I arrived there were several people at the front desk that greeted me immediately. I was then showed to the changing /​bathroom where I picked a locker to secure my belongings. Once I changed into their robe and slippers I headed to their relaxation/​waiting room to wait to be called for my services.
However, this visit I noticed that they had a representative present in the relaxation room who asked if you had any needs or issues. This was a refreshing touch after my last experience at this location. Their décor had also changed from the last time I was there but they still offered the same amenities in the waiting area (comfy and relaxing seating as well as comp beverages). The waiting room attendant checked the room periodically and everyone was called and serviced in a timely manner from what I could observe.
The facial was about an hour long and included a hand treatment as well. The stress melter service is very relaxing and will leave even the driest skin soft and smooth. With all of the modifications at this location I will definiitley return to this location in the future.

I went for the 2^nd time for pedi, just to see if this really is the place that gave me infection. And, there was another athlete foot! Yuck. Looks good and they pitch this cleanliness policy, but how did I get athlete foot after both visit to this place, when it doesn’t happen with my local spa? Yuck!

Great place for pampering yourself! I had a hot stone massage today which was excellent! Highly recommend!

I wish I could give them 5 stars, but let me break it down:
The whole reason I go for massage is to relax and disappear from the world for awhile. Unfortunately, the treatment room I was in was right on Franklin and cars were rushing by the entire time. Honking, motorcycles, yelling, you name it. Couldn’t relax. My massage tech didn’t seem to like her job, which also makes for an uncomfortable experience. For the massage service? For the price? I would give it 2 stars. Not to mention while I waited for my service (and attempted to relax afterwards) there were women just yapping and yapping in the relaxation areas. No one person who worked there in the 45 minutes I was there asked anyone to quiet down… so that was hugely irritating.
Now, I didn’t want my pampering day to be completely shot so I decided on a haircut. the ladies at the front were fab, and when I asked to add the service they were more than happy to look for me and gave me zero attitude about last minute. For them, I would give 5 stars.
The haircut with Lindsey was truly the saving grace. I wanted to chop all of it off and she was down to do it. She chatted a little here and there but totally got when I wanted to talk and when I didn’t. My haircut/​style was exactly what I had asked for and I am still in love with it. She gets 5 stars too.
Bottom line, I would totally go to Lindsey again for my hairstyle needs, but I’m going to try Bellmore for massage and see if their treatment rooms are a bit more… relaxing. I have been to multiple Red Door locations and yes, in urban areas, with no issue on the quiet front! Not sure how this one slipped through the cracks…
