Busy place to get breakfast, but what’s new? When it comes to breakfast in Long Island, all of the places that serve bagels are super busy.
I enjoyed my bacon, egg, and cheese on everything bagel that they presented me. It’s very cheap as it only costed me under 4 bucks. They also serve other items as my buddy got french toast. It took longer to make compared to the bagels and breakfast sandwiches, but it looked pretty damn appetizing and a great bang for your bucks!
$ 5 minimum to use credit cards btw.

Good food, but I noticed these hard working employees are not changing their gloves frequently. FOOD AND MONEY IS BEING HANDLED WITH THE SAME GLOVES. Yikes !!

Absolutely horrible service. Ordered 2 breakfast wraps. 1 was ok 2^nd was completely wrong. When I took back to counter the lady who took order gave me attitude and argued with me. While waiting the next 2 customers had similar problems.

Was going into work late today and knew I wouldn’t be taking lunch so I looked up the closest bagel place while driving through Garden City. Good selections of bagels and flagels if you’re into that. I went with a whole wheat bagel with basil and red onion cream cheese which was really good. The onion wasn’t overpowering like I worried it would be. Good choice. Glad I went there because I starved the rest of the day. Kept me full for most of it. Check it out. It meets the high expectations of Long Island bagelries.

However depending on the mood of the A-​hole owner you may or may not get exactly the type of bagel you asked for.
My request for a whole wheat everything bagel with low fat scallion cream cheese morphed in to an un-​toasted regular everything bagel with regular scallion cream cheese, because the store was busy… and the owner is a rude jackass.

Some of my most memorable times as a kid was skateboarding the front stairs of St Joseph’s, the gap behind the Garden City post office nearby, and rollin’ into Bagelman for a BLT and a drink afterwards for a recharge haha! If you’re from NY especially Long Island, then the love for bagels are in your genes. With that said, I’ve eaten bagels all my life in/​around Long Island and Bagelman is top notch! This place has been going strong for years and the quality control hasn’t changed. You will not be disappointed!

For the first time I feel inclined to write a review in response to what I am seeing below from other customers — quite frankly, I am confused at the negativity directed towards this shop.
I am born and raised in NYC and have been eating bagels as far as I can remember. Not that this should mean much to anyone reading, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to mention the fact that I KNOW MY BAGELS.
Bagelman is a delicious, family-​run establishment with service as on-​point as their bagels. I’ve tried various bagels with various spreads. My personal favorite is a bacon egg and cheese on a French Toast Bagel (*mouth watering as I type*). Each time I’ve been in Garden City, I go to Bagelman, and each time I’m there, I am greeted w/​friendly and attentive service.
I’ve noticed people complaining about Bagelman on here, but then promoting a different shop, all in one review. Am I the only person who sees how transparent this is? Every time I go to Bagelman there is a massive line that wraps around and behind the service counter. If this place is so terrible, why is this so? Furthermore, the space is quaint, clean but very small; the space in back utilized by workers only allows for a certain pace for them to operate efficiently in.
Bottom line: If you want quality and generally delicious bagel-​oriented food from a family-​oriented shop, there’s no question where to go in the Garden City area… Bagelman.

Love their veggie tuna and rice pudding! (Not together, of course) everything I’ve ever gotten has been delicious – no complaints!

Stood in line 5 minutes 4 people behind counter talking to each other. I had to ask to have my order taken.

Been coming here for years, and will continue doing so. THE PIZZA BAGELS ARE GREAT. the turkey club also is large enough for two meals so plan accordingly.
The bagels are great, but if your going to buy a dozen for lunch for the week; you’re better off freezing them because they don’t hold to well.

A roll with a hole in it is not a bagel. This place proves that. The neighborhood though may not know that.

I don’t know why anyone likes this place or how it even stays in business. The workers who must not understand English do not listen to how you want things cooked. I plainly tell them to toast it well done and to burn it and I will tell them I am serious about wanting it burnt and when it comes out it is soggy and barely even warm. The bagels are barely better than a frozen lenders bagel. Waist of money and a waist of time even going in there.

My review of bagelman is based mostly on the cranberry walnut chicken salad that I get in a wrap each time that I come. The combination of cranberry, walnut, and chicken salad leads to a wrap where each bite is flavorful. It also comes with your choice of a side and the potato salad and pasta salad are good albeit a bit acidic. There are sodas and other bottles drinks available. I have never had to wait long to order or for them to complete my order. I have not paid any attention to their handling food and money with the same gloves on, but I have been there several times and I have never gotten sick.

The bagels are really good. The sandwiches are right on point. Definitely a place to walk to for lunch.
They deliver which was a great thing when I was staying in the garden city hotel.

First time in. I ordered the whole wheat bagel, it tasted dry and bland. The place looks clean.

DIRTY GLOVES HANDLING MONEY AND FOOD!!! STAY AWAY! I am absolutely appalled by this place. The first time I was here I couldn’t miss the workers handling money with gloves on, then touching customers food without replacing them. I brought this up to a manager, she told me the Health Department allows this, and bacteria doesn’t spread through paper (cash). This response was completely unacceptable.
Today, I reluctantly went back to get some cream cheese thinking I was safe ordering something that didn’t require much handling. WRONG. The owner was holding an entire smoked salmon, then put it away. Seconds later he helped a customer with the same gloves that touched the fish, made her bagel, then completed her cash transaction at the register. Then he proceeded to to take my order… and again, didn’t think twice about the fish he had just touched.
This is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. Even if the Health Department apparently says this is ok… the owners and workers should take customers into consideration. GO TO MY 3 SONS BAGEL CAFE INSTEAD!!!

Bagels are huge, but a little too airy inside (lacks substance). The veggie cream cheese was really good though.

I LOOOOOVE Bagelman! They’ve got delicious breakfast and lunch at the most reasonable prices in town. Sometimes there can be a wait for your food (especially cheeseburgers) because they make everything fresh – and believe me it’s worth the wait! The people behind the counter look like they’re super busy but I think that’s just because they deliver too.
Their new digs is super cute and a great update to the last space – you should check it out! I love their bagel-​themed lunch snacks including Bageldogs and Pizzabagels! You’ve gotta try ‘em. Nom!
