Springhill Suites by Marriott

Great place. Beds are comfortable, staff is great, pool is clean, rooms are large, delicious breakfast… very pleasant stay. We stayed an extra night because we liked it so much. Less than 3 miles from the beach.

Manager/​franchise owner unavailable to assist with customer service issues. Doesn’t return calls and staff is instructed to not contact anyone to assist when necessary.
This is not a Marriott property — they should be embarrassed to have in their portfolio of properties.

Visited Galveston for the first time with some friends and my children. I had chosen this hotel over other because it had a indoor pool and a hot breakfast. The room was a little small but it did the job. We had 2 double beds and a pullout couch. Service was great at check in. The pool was nice and warm but the smell of chlorine was a tad too strong for me.
The following morning we enjoyed a hot breakfast. They had a variety of different foods. My favorite was the Texas Waffle !!! Texas size texas waffle. Yum yum x2.
Check out was easy. We checked out and loaded back to our vehicle. I didn’t realize my son fell down by the entrance because I was pushing the luggage cart. The lady at the front desk helped him and even cleaned his boo boo and gave him a band aid. I was very greatful. Thank you for your extra service.

Decent hotel. Room had a king with a fold out couch, which turned out right for the family. Found it odd to only have a single lock on the balcony door. The pool was open until 11 pm; breakfast was standard with a good variety of options.

I have stayed in alot of Marriotts, so I do have examples to compare too, and I must say this one is very different, its right off the highway, so you must make a sharp right into their parking lot, which has a huge curb to try and not hit with your car while hoping you don’t get rear ended by fast moving traffic behind you also coming off the highway, its even worse when you try to exit, and anytime after 11 pm you can hardly find parking… the front desk reception area is a mishap, as while people are checking in at the front desk, there is no passing room so you must walk between the dining area chairs to get to the elevator, at the time we were checking in the maintenance people were stream washing the carpets and a few peoples feet were wet from walking on the carpet which made for a slippery floor when your feet hit the tile :(, then there was an over 7 min. wait for the (only one elevator) in the building, so we waited in line to use the elevator, then decided to just take the stairs, the breakfast was very good, the room was clean and comfortable, the pool and hot tub were very nice, the front desk staff do need retraining on their business practices as well as some of their manners, Marriott would do well to do a redo and check in on what goes on with this Springhill Suite.

Hotel nice and clean. However, the traffic noise from the highway that is steps away is awful. I am not a light sleeper and it woke me up every morning way before my alarm sounded. It does not matter what side of the hotel the room is, the noise level is unacceptable.

This was one of the best stays we’ve ever had at a hotel. The room was clean, well stocked and spacious. The ladies at the front desk were friendly, welcoming and accommodating. We were in and out with 4 kids and they called us by name every time. The heated indoor pool was clean with plenty of clean towels. The complimentary was full of goodness with extras like an oatmeal area with lots of toppings, scrambled eggs with lots of topping choices (fresh shredded cheese, fresh spinach leaves). The lobby was clean. The only negative I can say is that they serve Bud Light free during the happy hour. We are Miller Lite drinkers. The hotel is right off I45 but also close to the beach area and very close to Schlitterbahn and Moody Gardens. we will definitely be staying here again.

We thought our room looked great until we crawled into bed. Blood on the sheets! We pulled back the sheet and found blood on the mattress cover. Pulled that off and on a different section of the bed saw a giant pee stain! I know that everything can’t be perfect all of the time at a hotel, but blood on the sheets is unacceptable. We won’t be back.

Stayed here for thanksgiving weekend. Convenient location: not walking distance to beach. But convenient to Target, restaurants, Moody gardens, etc.
Wifi: spotty per IT hubby.
Exercise: 2 treadmills in a small room, has a small heated pool and jacuzzi. But check out jogging trails or bike/​jog along the beach.
Maybe they should put another exercise room on the big empty room on the 4^th floor where the ice maker machine is. It’s so lonely.
Food: breakfast buffet has healthy options with warm waffles, oatmeal, diff options of breads including English muffins, bagels, etc.
View: no direct gulf view or beach but sunset view is colorful.
Accommodations: nice, clean.

Good weekday rates from
The weekend rates are about double the price so we decided to go during the week. The breakfast ends earlier than not so we missed out. I’d suggest they end it an hour later for people that like to sleep in a bit on vacation. The walkin closet had light like another reviewer stated which I thought was weird. Check out my pic for the best way to get there. They also have an indoor pool and hot tub but they close at 10 or 11, wish they stayed open later for adults only for hopefully adults know how to keep quiet. Microwave and mini fridge are in the clean room, which makes it nice to bring you own snacks. It might not be located overlooking the ocean, but it’s a great deal.

We happen to be traveling to Texas pre-​planned and decided that we were going to stay in Galveston Texas. Prior to leaving on vacation we booked a reservation with this hotel. When we arrived to the hotel the front clerk was extremely quick, and adequate with the check in process to get is fastly in the room, and she had a great attitude. One of the surprising factors is they told us that they were having a happy hour that evening with free beer, and chips all included in the price of our stay. That was a very nice amenity to have in a hotel. The room was very clean, and the linen was very nicely done. The bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows. The next time we go to Galveston Texas I definitely would be staying at this hotel, and recommended for anybody with families, the next morning the complimentary breakfast was very good. In fact, this was one of the nicest experience I ever had having breakfast in staying in hotels. I definitely would recommend this for anybody

I can’t believe some Unilocalers are «taking points off» because this place is not beachfront. Newsflash: it’s not advertised as a beachfront hotel. It’s a very quick 4 or 5 minute trip to the beach… and much less costly than a «beachfront hotel».
This is a perfectly serviceable little hotel. Breakfast bar is one of the best I’ve seen, they obviously take pride in it.
What I really liked about this place was there was a problem with my bill (my company’s fault) and instead of submitting a questionable charge they took the time to call me and ask if it was legitimate. We got it straightened out over the phone. I wish all places were pro-​active like that.
One «serious» note: Do NOT use Apple Maps to locate this address. It will put you ¾ of a mile away at a shoe store in a discount shopping center.

I had a wonderful stay here this past weekend for 4^th of July. Our room had comfy beds and soft towels and a fantastic view of the ocean and Moody Gardens across the water. The hotel is located right off of the highway, however it can be a little difficult to get to — I recommend using the back road to get to it. My stay was a little pricey due to the holiday however there were a lot of things that I really liked including the friendly staff members, the cleanliness and overall set up of the room (includes fridge and microwave!), free wi-​fi and parking, free HBO on the tv and complimentary breakfast: Waffle Maker, Oatmeal with toppings, Cereal, Breads, Bagels and Muffins, Fresh Fruit, Yogurt, Sausage Patties and Eggs, Juice, Coffee, Tea and Milk. They even have the Texas shaped waffle maker — so cute! I really liked that the staff called to confirm my reservation and even offered me directions on how to get to the hotel. Some negatives include the location (this hotel is NOT located near the seawall or any Galveston sights — if you don’t have a car there is very little you can walk to besides a bait shop, however if you have a car there is a target right across the street. The elevator is super slow so if you’re not very patient, I would recommend asking for a room on the first floor. Overall a great stay, however the next time I visit Galveston I would prefer a hotel on the Seawall.

This hotel is not that close to the beach area. Our check out was in order. There are nicer hotels in the area however there are also many older hotels in the area that may not compare with this one. If you decide to stay here be prepared to deal with a lot of children. The days we stayed definitely were not good for businessmen.
he Springhill Suites in Galveston, TX is certainly not a five star location. It is worthy though of 3 ½ stars due to the following. The hotel is not on the beach and is in rather hard to get to from the freeway. Entering the hotel parking lot should be done from the side street at the hotel and not from the street directly in the parking lot as the drive is badly designed and many cars will drag the bottom when trying to get into the parking lot. The parking lot itself is poorly designed more than likely due to the small amount of space this hotel sits on. Be sure and set your handbrake as many parking specs are highly slanted. The hotel is about 4 years old. The check in was a pleased as the staff was professional, friendly and courteous. My reservations were accurate and I was given a room key very quickly. The lobby was clean as was the dining room area. I was offered a «happy hour» bag or popcorn and cup of punch. Not mush I would have to confess however it’s the thought. There was no «happy hour» on Saturday or Sunday.
The elevator is horribly slow so don’t get in a rush. We were on the fourth floor thus there was no option other than the elevator. Passed the indoor swimming pool which we found a little cloudy however since we don’t plan to use I won’t complain. The fitness room is rather small and has three pieces of equipment in it. Don’t count on an extensive work out.
Our room (401) was nice however small. Just appears this hotel was really designed to be hotel room rather than suites. The mattress was very soft and some people .like this — we don’t. Towels were cotton and polyester and I mention this because that combination usually means cheaper products and these were thin and small cut towels. The bathroom amenities are bottom of the line.
In the bathroom the shower curtain rod had been replaced and whoever replaced the rod just left the old holds visible thus you have a not so nice view of the shower curtain rod plus the old holds that did not match the holes for the new rod. In the bedroom part of the room the closet door had been replaced and there were the old holes left exposed when the new door was installed. The new door is one cheapo door make of lightweight pine and very unsteady. It also was raw wood and had not been painted. With daily use that door will not last long.
The internet connection worked well. The carpet was clean and did not have stains or dirt on it although there was a section in front of the refrigerator that had a small tear in it. The furniture appears to be about four years old and does reflect some sue however not too badly.
The breakfast is the usual food you will find at most Springhill Suites. The only issue was the quality of food and the cleanliness of the dining area on Saturday and Sunday. On Monday there was a remarkable improvement as the area was wells stocked and the area was very clean. The two employees in that area the first tow days had little initiative to keep the food replenished or to clean the tables. We were there for three breakfasts and on one day we saw a guest cleaning off tables in order to have a place to sit as the staff was no where to be found. They made little effort to keep the food area tidy and stocked. This was totally different on Monday as the one employee kept the area clean and the food well stocked. The only difference in the food among the three days as the last day the eggs were scrambled while on the first tow days the eggs had been cooked in a round ring of some sort resulting in think rounds of eggs.

Its a hotel, we all know what they are like so lets get to the things that make us happy. AWESOME Breakfast for free downstairs in the lobby, I had sausage Egg and Cheese English muffin with a bowl for Brown Sugar and Fig Oatmeal with fresh fruit OJ and Coffee… OH and a waffle in the shape of TEXAS!
Very friendly staff, Forgot my iPhone charger and the lady at the front desk had one that she let me use for the night!!! I wouldn’t have been able to Unilocal without that #closecall
Pretty nice pool and Hot tube, I don’t usually go for the hotel pools or hot tubes but this one seemed pretty clean and nice so I gave it a try and it was amazing!
Theres a Target across the street, If they don’t have it at the front desk then I promise Target does.
If Im in the area again and don’t feel like driving home late night (again) then I would definitely make another visit to the Springhill Suites.

We stayed here last weekend for our family vacation. I was really impressed. We just stayed one night though. The rooms were clean and all the interior design finishes seemed new. I really liked the carpet for some reason. The staff was pretty helpful too. My fave was the complimentary breakfast. That was a big plus for our family of nine! They had a hot breakfast with lots of variety :) I’m bummed We didn’t get to try out the indoor pool. Not enough time. When we go back to visit, I’ll def consider staying here again!

Staying here for 6 days. Facility is easy to find, right off 45S highway. Location is not right on the beach, but it’s only 2 – 3 miles away so just a quick 5 minute drive to Seawall Blvd. Clean, well maintained entrance and common area. Check-​in was a breeze, front desk attendants were attentive, helpful, and knowledgable. Very convenient that the front desk has an illustrated map of the Island for tourists and newcomers. Staff was kind enough to give me several travel sized packets of toothpaste and lotion. Complimentary happy hour food and drinks, 5−7pm, Monday-​Thursday, in the lobby = neato! This essentially made up my dinner plans on two of the nights I stayed here. Hot breakfast was included and was great — Texas shaped waffles, eggs, sausage patties, bagels, english muffins, toast, oatmeal (with raisins, nuts, cinammon, brown sugar toppings), milk, apple/​orange juice, coffee, water! Lemonade and cold water were provided in the common area in the afternoons! Rooms are cozy, well maintained and well furnished. We had a suite with double-​sized fold out sofa bed, flat tv, office desk, two small tv tables, refridgerator, microwave, two double beds, and a patio with a view of the bay. Quite nice, especially compared to the four star hotel we stayed in at another city just prior to checking in here. There’s a small privacy wall between the bedroom/​bathroom/​kitchen areas so it gives the feel of a small apartment. Room service was efficient and comprehensive. Our room was always stocked sufficiently with soap, shampoo, towels. Double beds are slightly smaller than queen sized so that makes for somewhat cramped sleeping. Wi-​Fi is free, always available, and robust. Safes are available at front desk for use (free). For some reason, the jet spa downstairs was always occupied so we didn’t get to use it. Small but adequate exercise room with 3 treadmills and tv. Very clean and well maintained public restrooms on first floor. Expansive parking lot with plenty of spaces and designated handicapped parking.

The hotel was overall clean with friendly staff. Hotel was just a short drive to the beach. Nice continental breakfast.
I would not stay here again for the following reasons:
1. Stairwell smelled of marijuana.
2. Indoor pool was not heated. Freezing!
3. Not provided enough towels for everyone. We had four people staying in the room and we were only provided three towels/​washcloths. Requested additional towels, but none were ever received. Each day housekeeping cleaned the room, they only left three towels.
